  • Au, that's really funny and cute video! Loved it, loved the whole composition and the idea of it :)

Rhys is hilarious, gosh, he is great! You're so lucky that you had a chance to work with him!)

I also loved reading all your comments about how you made this video - really interesting and funny too =)

  • @Darivoo Thanks for your comment. People like you make it all worthwhile!

  • omg he's so cute!!! hahaha

  • Very well shot and played!

I can't help but feel sorry for Edward..

I mean he made all this clear instructions and preparations just to have this picnic and than he forgets his basket because he can't take the social pressure (in his antics he reminds me quite of Max from the movie Mary & Max)

And I can't believe you left Rhys with THIS outfit at some station and let him drive all alone to catch up to you ..I guess he didn't even had his basket anymore..Shame on you. *sniggers*

  • @Motschekibschen Thanks for the comment!! Really glad you got into the film. I'll have to check out Mary and Max. Someone said it was really good.

  • Vey nice piece of work. How did you shoot in the subway, permits are tough to get no?

  • @marcoskuhne Thanks a lot for your comment. We shot it with a Hi8 camera and no permissions! We chose a route that wouldn't have many people on it - south of Oval on the Northern line and then took the camera out occasionally on the way back up to Hyde Park. I think you can get away with more when you're a student!

  • @palfrensis I shot in a subway once jajaja. got kicked the fuck out of there immediately but that was a diferent city, was a shit load of fun to de kicked out anyway. I shot with Rhys last year. check out the voodoo mama spoof ad on my videos. see if you like it. It is a comedy.

  • @marcoskuhne Just watched your film. It's really well done. I bet Rhys loved playing that part. Well done!

  • very good

  • haha that was hilarious

  • So strangely superb! Loved the music choice and the facial expressions throughout were excelent. I loved how Rhys had this very sneaky look in his eyes at the start. I couldn't help but laugh near the end that was pretty funny. I thought to myself as well "My friend and I make that face all the time at each other...". We're complete nutters we are! Great wee short! Well done!

  • wow, great short - very very funny, in a sort of trippy way, lol. im a big fan of Rhys - cool to see some really early stuff...he is rather gorgeous...but yeah - love it - looks like a fun shoot :) x

  • This was brilliant!

Im in love with the music used also, very inspiring :)

  • Lovely of you to say so. Thank you very much. The composer is my friend and his name is Trystan Gwynedd.

  • Oh, my goodness! That was absolutely hilarious! I knew Rhys was an awesome actor, but this is the best I've ever seen!

  • Michelle, thank you very much.

  • How long ago did you guys shoot this? It seems like you guys would have had a lot of fun filming this.

    Oh, and you're welcome. ;)

    Michelle

  • We shot it in 1996! It was a brilliant day's shoot. I was a second year student at he time. We didn't have permission to film in any of these places so we had to be quite discrete. It added to the excitement. We lost Rhys at one point because he stepped off the subway train and didn't get back on before the doors closed. We took off, leaving Rhys to join the other trainspotters in his slippers and anorak .

  • Ha ha! LOL! That would have been something to see! I'm in college right now studying Acting for Film, so I know about needing to be discrete. Do you still shoot films?

  • Cool. Where are you studying?

I do still shoot films and you can see some music videos and shorts (19 so far) on my youtube channel: palfrensis. All the content is directed by myself.

    Thanks for the interest.

  • I'm studying at Edinboro University this year and I'm hoping I'll be accepted into the New York Film Academy. Unless you have any other suggestions, of course.

    I'm always interested ;)

So, you do keep in touch with all your friends from Camverwell College? I would try to, if it were me.

    Sorry if I'm rambling.

  • Thank for posting this!where did you find it?please do you know in which year was shotted?thanks

  • Hi, thanks for that. It was shot in 1996 with the help of some Camberwell College of Arts students.

It's my film. I made it. Take care.

  • This is based on based on Edvard Munch's 'The Scream', I'm guessing. It's bizarre, but great!

  • It's hilarious when he make a face like home alone, rhys rocks! :)

  • wtf? lol could someone explain it to me please? im so confused! ha ha!

  • It's the back story to a famous painting called "The Scream" by Edvard Munch. It kind of makes light of a very distressing potrayal of the human condition. Instead of experiencing the "scream of nature", the film makes out that the man in the painting actually left his picnic basket on the tube. The others on the tube train represent parts of the man's psyche as projected spectres.

  • is that The Matthew Gibbins in the mask?

  • yes, Beer Matt, as we called him then.

  • I miss those ratty old wooden-floored carriages they used to have on the tube, the Northern Line particularly. They're all shiny yellow plastic now. Makes me want to scream...

  • Ha! Ha! Wicked comment. And yes, it was the Northern Line.

  • Ahh...i love RHys.

  • o_O ee...really weird film

  • "Weird?" How so?

  • HAHAHAHAHA XD

  • weird
