if judo people are so tough why dont they smash my face in the keybardnjffhjkhffghjjggfrt trdgf bv jfgjnhkbfn gbhjn8yfgkbmcuioklnif8ybguthi8fno bgghgfg
judo have actually mad my day manny times in school... when i was in class 5c it came 2 kids from 7a and tried to like, punch me right in the face or something... i throwed the 1st one down, and then the 2nd tried to kick me in the face when i did a armbar on both of the at the same time... it worked :DDDDDDDD and noow i will be leaved alone untill the 9e gets me
Judo = Sport. That's crap...man you throw someone like that on the street. Broken collar bones, shoulders, ribs...I hate being thrown. This is a great MARTIAL ART. Not just some sport.
@garuga123456 well i wish you good luck with that! because jujutsu surely got some throws but its not based on it so combine them will be very difficult!
@arcaniagothic2 They're a pair of the easiest martial arts to combine, everything you learn in judo is excellent for ji jitsu as well (not always the other way around though)
Judo makes your throws a lot better than typical ji-jitsu classes teach you.
@garuga123456 dude! combine judo and ju jutsu? Judo came from ju jitsu! But judo focusing at more explosive throw. But was funny with ur comment bro :D
@devilasskicker not necessarily, "judo is all about practicing and conditioning your mind and body" as stated by the father of judo, professor Jigaro Kano
@devilasskicker in some senses i guess you could say that, but in my opinion its a passion and a lifestyle sooooo, judo has many factor so its not just on about one thing so nobody can really say anything.
@devilasskicker defiantly, using the right technique and tactics you can floor somebody no matter how big they are, but this will take some time.... in my weight division im pretty much a midget yet im flooring people all the time, im 5"6 and the people i fight are 6"5+ and im flooring them easily. but this will take some time of practising with taller people, belive me the hardest person to defeat in judo is a good judoka himself who belives he can win also when fighting shorter be more aware
o soto gari, most basic throw of them all but still deadly.... just proves even a white belt with 4 months of training can kill someone if they train hard enough
ive allways wanted to learn judo even the basics are verry usfull such as the easy arm bars they will drop an unsuspecting enemy in seconds well if the person dosent know any martial arts
@T0H0E0G0A0M0E ah cool, i was thinking of training at a muay thai gym see because i thought it would be something new, i train outside the gym aswell see and got into my national squad, you in any teams for muay thai?
@T0H0E0G0A0M0E all training wears everybody out and no form of combat mixture if perfect, anybody could mess you up if its not the right combo or style for you.... like me i do boxing and judo and im top orange and done it all my life and its saved my ass in many a street fight, i can cope training judo but cannot stand boxing but thats just me. i think its cool you do muay thai tho, isnt it some sort of asian kickboxing?
I would think that dislocated shoulders would be the main injury that people got while performing judo? It really is almost beautiful they way they gracefully throw each other though. I am gonna start taking classes next month and i can't wait!
are broken necks a common occurrence in this sport? I know these are professionals, but it would seem that when your adrenaline is pumping in the olympics, you'll do whatever it takes to win and safety goes out the window.
@duvalinhn Not so much... The first thing you learn in judo is how to break your fall and land properly. Practice is usually a lot of throws -- both being thrown and throwing. It's assumed that over time you become an expert at a few of your favorite throws, but you also have an intimate understanding of being thrown. Judo breakfalls become natural and feel exactly like falling normally.
@mrgreyshadow very cool! from the few videos I've seen, the throws always look very graceful, but during the falls, it seems like there are a lot of close calls, hence my question. it makes it more impressive to know that all their moves are very calculated and they have developed cat-like reflexes. thanks a bunch for the info!
@duvalinhn No problem! Judo is sort of a martial art, but it's mostly a competitive sport. The judo tradition is that of the, "gentle way" because other styles like karate and jiu jitsu were conducive to broken arms, legs, sprains... things of that nature. So judo was derived from the grappling and throwing bits of jiu jitsu, but with none of the blunt force. You also wear a heavy cotton uniform that holds your weight. This is to prevent injury and encourage a sport rather than aimless brawling.
@mrgreyshadow so students of all skill levels practice throws on each other and EXPECT to be thrown.. It isn't a matter of poor skill to be thrown in practice, and it's even recognized as helpful. Since we all learn breakfalls and the sport is designed to avoid injuries frequent in the other styles, injuries aren't as common. But if you don't practice often and try to cut corners or be lazy -- throwing or falling -- you risk injury. Olympic judoka are definitely safer than the newer judoka.
looks horrible.my oppinion.so don't reply bad, because u THINK its better. Also looks so damn painful.like wtf someone falls over u even after u were already thrown down...
Actually, you need both. Muay Thai is great, but it is sorely lacking in the throw & submission department, both things which can be extremely useful if you don't want to spend time in the monkey house. You will see that in MMA, (which is the closest to the conditions of street fighting as it gets) nobody goes very far with a solid ground in other discipline.
@LA56VVF haha, yes, you got a point but thats nothing new. also you seem to be forgetting that if im training judo that doesnt mean i am restricted to use striking you know. the other one.. most of the techniques can be done without a gi but they become a lot harder though. anyway you try kicking someone to the head on a bus or train or dancefloor? its not what style you train its how you adapt to different situations
im a wrestler (highschool wrestler) an i love grappling cant get enough of it but i am currently learning greco which is somewhat similar hah but i wana mix judowith wrestling becauuse it would be a deadly combination hah
I don't practice judo, I study Aikido. Being this as it is, I have no experience with Judo. What is the difference between sporting judo (contests) and "real" training judo (in a dojo)?
@StormbringerStudios if I understand what youmean, judo training consists of 3 sections, Kata, Randori, And Shiai, andso sport judo is part of dojo, Kata includes repetition of techniques in the form of "fitting in" for a throw or also "throw for throw" type training&the katas of Judo, while Randori,is free practice, moving around with a live opponant, seeing what happens and exploring opportunities,Shiai/sport,is where you practice against a fully resistant opponant to ensure your moves can work.

That's really cool, but there was not kata-guruma at 3:24 and 3:38 :)
"After a study by the Kodokan Research Institute (April 1, 1997), it was decided that this technique is related to uki-wazaand not kata-guruma, because the concept of the throw is based on the principle of yoko-sutemi-waza." [from Toshiro Daigo 'Kodokan Judo Throwing Techniques']

In Russian SAMBO its' name "BODOK".

@whymeproducz BJJ and Judo are really good for self defense, Judo has good sweeps, and the you can just use Ju Jitsu for the ground.

@mag3b0yxxx
it's not as easy as it looks, you can't just "go and learn" judo, it takes years of practice!
