That was only because of the five-letter space limit. Crono, Marle, Lucca, frog/Glenn, Magus, Robo... note that all those names only have 5 letters.

It IS Chrono Trigger. You play as "Crono" because the developers of the game only programmed the names (of the characters) to have 5 letters. Hence, "Chrono" turns into "Crono".

I see your point, but I don't think "elegant" is the right word. If you want to talk about "Elegance", then that would be talking about being refined, more sophisticated, etc. And in that case, Uematsu would probably win that one. But Mitsuda's work is much more... "Inspiring", "Adventurous", and "Colorful".

In other words, You'd most likely see Uematsu's music going ballroom dancing and eating caviar, while Mitsuda's music parties the night away, livin' it up.
