  • QUE TAl amigo soy nuevo en esto y compre dos pares como las luces que tienes en tu video esta muy muy padre sera que me puedas ayudar como programarlas como tu soy de san andres tuxtla veracruz gracias

  • helo wath the artistic music ?

  • What program are you using to control these lights?

  • @patcism I built the program up myself using an Lite-Puter CX5 controller which is essentially the same as the EVL Pro Controller.

You can easily build your own shows by adding one scene at a time and storing them. When you have created all your scenes you then build up a chase by adding selected scenes. When you have enough chases you can then add scenes and/or chases to build up a complete show.

Essentially your imagination is the only limit.

  • Can someone tell me what controller works with the mojo 2 ?

  • @Djsilverodoet Any DMX controller will work as the Mojo is standard DMX protocol.

The only difference you might find is that some controller have their polarity reversed, that is the data "+" and "-" are reversed. Pins 2 and 3 on the XLR needs swapping over, or make yourself a change-over cable so you can reverse the polarity when needed.

Some controllers have a switch to change this for you. Not all lights are wired the same either, so some will be pin 2 hot, and others will be pin 3 hot.

  • V-Good

Are these lights worth getting ?

  • @NiksDjs If you only want Halogen based lighting and NOT discharge then YES these are very good for a simple lighting effect.

The type of Lamp used is an M33 which has a better colour temperature than a standard A1/259 type lamp, thus the whites are stronger and whiter.

The problem is finding a stockist and it HAS to be this model as they made several types with different results.

  • Cuál es la cancion que se escucha?

    What is the song?

  • @NickCalaway The song is "Call on Me" by "Eric Prydz"

  • what is your controller ??

  • @brosseadent

Controller used is a Liteputer CX-5

About £500 new, the alternative controller is the EVL Pro Controller from EVL Lighting.

A very capable controller, I know this because I wrote the Manual for it :)

These lights are very old now, I stopped using them 6 years ago, everything I use now is Discharge powered, Lasers and LED for up-lighting. All DMX controlled of course from the CX-5, still working well.

  • @PeeCeeMDJF thx a lot i was asking cuz i got a obey 40 for cheap and i cant do exactly what i want you cant save just one channel like color you can only save the position+color+till+ect....

  • awesome lights, ive still never herd of that company....

  • the make of the lights is geni they do lights such as the wild blaze and spinmaster

  • @alfman111

Geni used to be a top end lighting manufacturer, many people thin kthey only make cheap lighting effects as that's all stores like Maplins made available.

Geni were the first company to give us Strobe Tubing or Arcline as it's commonly known, others soon copied it.

These lights MOJO 1's are probably one of the better units form their lower range, Geni make units that include 1200W MSD moving heads and washes, but you never see them in this country.

  • What song is this? Nice lights ;)

  • Eric Prydz - Call On Me

  • To nascarfreak88dale if you dont know it Movingheads can also be washes, and it is peoples own choise. But yesWash gives a nice effect

  • Thanks for your comments,

This video is now quite old, originally taken in 2004 right after programming therefore it is not in a venue setting, this was just a sequence test.

For the application intended Wash Lighting was NOT required.

We now use LED Uplighting for 99% of jobs where they need colour fill.

we use it to wash floors, walls and ceilings etc, to add colour to blank canvas type venues, such as Marquees or bland Function Suites.

  • agreed wash lighting is a must have. these are very good for just adding the 'icing on the cake' to wash lights.

  • hey man calm down washers are only for general lighting to the stage an they are moving heads

  • hola mi hermano gracias por subir este video me ayudò mucho tiene ideas muy ùtiles.

  • wats the name of the song?

  • already answered this question about a year ago (for new people visiting or asking questions, can you please view ALL posts in case your question has already been answered) thanks.

"Eric Prydz - Call On Me"

80's Cover of "Stevie Winwood - Valerie".

  • The people inside establishments that use these (drunks) won't even notice all your work - why waste your time?.

  • Simple! I only operate at high class Weddings, and many of my clients and their guests notice the lighting and other equipment detail all the time.

Besides I stopped using these 4 years ago and now use Discharge club effects throughout.

See my Chester Town Hall Wedding video for the newer lighting rig in action.

  • Where do you get this lights@?

  • I bought these from Maplins about 7 years ago. They no longer sell or stock these lights. I sold them about 4 years ago.

The Mojo Scan 1 were the best DJ light Maplin ever sold, please do not mistake these for the Spinmaster 1 or 2 or other Mojo effects if you search Ebay.

Mojo Scan 1, 2 or 3 are the best ones with the Spinmaster 3 being a good runner up.

Nice lights, easy to program and have a good colour temperature due to the M33 type lamp used in the Mojo Scan 1's.

  • You should have two controls when setting each step in a chase program. One is the Chase Speed which determines the overall time each step takes, and the fader is the tie it takes the lights to move form one position to the next, so for a 5 second chase step you can set the fader to 4.8 seconds, so they will take 4.8 seconds to move form one position to the next, in other words the mirrors move slowly. Adjust the timings as required. These were programmed on a DMX controller "Liteputer CX-5".

  • Hi,

How do you get the lights to move so fluidly? Do you use a PC program to program them? When I program them, they seem very blocky.

    Thanks,

    Adam

  • thats why DMX on the fly ( during the program or venue) is the only way to go. It took me a good 4 weeks to learn the programs and what not and that was useing it 3 times a week at the club I DJ at. I now have a guy go with me it can be time consuming to DJ and run a light show.

  • Hello, forgives the translation. that is or how to make the lights can run slower, I have a mojoscan 2x but moves very fast. help please

  • You need to use a DMX programmer to set your own speed and fade times, if you run them stand alone or sound to light then they will run as fast as they want.

  • @repairsystem

    use a longer fade time.....

  • Hey are they quite easy to programme to a song?

  • DMX is pretty easy once you grasp the basics, however programming routines to match individual tracks can be time consuming, In this video it was sheer chance that the routine I programmed happened to sync closely to the track I chose for the video.

There are software programs out there that can sync to music as you play, though how effective these are in a real life situation is anyone's guess. ;)

  • Whats The song called?

  • Eric Prydz - Call On Me

  • grand ma is way better

  • hehe, hmm do you not think that a GrandMA would be a little bit over the top to program 4 Mojo Scans? =P ...in addition to the fact that it would make no difference whatsoever :) hehe :)

  • hi i have a question for you and i hope you help me. sorry my english but i am from tijuana mexico.... i have 8 mojo scan 1 and a controller dmx operator and i dont know how program this lights. what is the adress of dmx o wath i have to do. tanx for te answer ill be apreciate your helo

  • These are Geni Mojo Scan 1's

I've never heard of a Scanmaster, I think you are refering to the Mojo Spinmaster.

And take my advice.. the only Spinmaster worth buying or using is the Spinmaster III.

The only downside to the Spinmaster III is that it can be a little Dim when compared to other lights, such as the Mojo Scan 1.

I stopped using these lights 3 or 4 years ago now. They were definately worth their money.

  • This was programmed for a purpose so the slow movement on the mirrors is exactly what was required. This was one of approx 60 different programms that were done. The video only shows a small portion of this program.

  • very nice lights, i've just ordered another one off amazon! also very good quality for a mobile phone video!

  • For 250W Halogen effects these do a very good job.

Be sure you get the Geni Mojo Scan 1, and none others.

  • yep exactly what ive just ordered. Oh, and one of those simple audio controllers. I've got the DM4 controller, but haven't worked out how to use it yet!!!

  • I used a Liteputer CX-5 for my programming.

  • espetacular

  • good shot but what is that song?

  • Eric Prydz - Call On Me

80's Cover of Stevie Winwood - Valerie.
