i've always used the MK3's with Serato but I wanted to try something different, so i bought two CDX players, but they dont seem to be accurate with Scratch Live, do you have any recommendations? Maybe Scratch settings?
maybe have to set some of the settings in serato, setup if you havent done this already also read the manual it will help you with the settings as far as latency goes that may be what your problem is asdiciacco

Jamaica, Queens New York NY 1994. This music brings back memories from the Dancehalls in Jamaica Queens New York, NY. Does anyone knows if there are still dancehalls in New york which play this kind of Music?
yea like u'd admit that ur a kid and u have no life and ur immature. its not like im stupid. Im a DJ too. DJ XPLoSioN of X-Tuned Sound Crew. Ive been doing it for 6 years. Sure you can mix w/out effects but after a while it gets boring. I don't mix a song at a time. I do entire CD's at a time. That only sounds good w/ effects. so stop being a fucking asshole. All that says is ur a immature kid.
Chat shit, mixing sounds better with hosting and effects. But at the end of the day without them it's still mixing, and its the mixing thats the most important thing in terms of being a DJ. Anyone can push an effect button
accusing someone about age when they have stated that they have DJ'd for 16years, nice i'm not sure where you got the solid evidence that this anakin has no life...however as you clearly are a better psychologist to those like froyd etc i am going to take your argument into account and yes i think i have came to same conclusion as anakin an resulting in telling you to "get the F outta here man"
its not mixing unless u have some sound effects in there. otherwise its just crossfading. nice setup though. i like it. i have everything there but the turntable.
whats go man. its go to see somebody mixing some reggae and not using a reggae cd that has 50 tracks on it using the same beat and tring to make u think there mixing noing u are NOT. lol but keep up the good work. not talking about u.
in dancehall scene its normal that u play 3-4 tunes each riddim, so in that way it is juggling !!! but jugglin to another riddim is mostly quit difficult
i agree with kemicon i love how you can see the groves wynding down on a perfect mix i carry my lps and laptop its heavy but you get more respect on the electronica circuit. a dj uses vynil a disk jockey uses cds and other shit
I buy and play everything on vinyl, it's just a personal preference and I like to see people keep the art form alive. Using laptops is a good idea when playing out because you have to carry less and can do stuff like take requests. If you're playing at home though I think you should use the vinyl. I guess too many people cheat with laptops and still don't really mix all that well. It gets to the point where they sound like an ipod on shuffle, then what's the point.
u need an interface cable that can fit to ur USB port or head phones jack on ur laptop.the other end of the cable must be configured for ur cdx input/output ports..check with electronics/music hardware stores
slackness in the 90s definitely made way for conscious dancehall in the millenium... maximum respect due buju, terror, chaka, mega and all dancehall massive... one love...
dude love the sound! there is just one but its to slow its not club material more for a day chillin at home, but still its nice make it explode then your the man for me haha!good luck Peace from Amsterdam

And by the way that mix that your playing was made in the late 1988, 1989 or even 90. I tell you this because i have on tape. Just like the other comments like Cherry1026 its old dude.
Ok - just so you can stop bugging me... Let me explain. I am NOT scratching for looks - I AM CUEING UP THE TUNE or scratching to drop the beat on point or matching beats as it is usually refered to. If you look keenly you can the XFADER is always closed to the manipulated side(if I am cueing up(scracthing) the TT on the left then the Xfader is on the extreme right or visa versa.

If you're riding a song in and you have the beat *perfectly matched* the song may start clipping due to the syncronized bass lines. Cut the bass on the channel you're bringing in and then roll it up as you cross fade (till you're at 0db, or flat).
If you're gonna ride a buncha songs on the same riddim, there is usually some kinda preamble at the beginning, start brining that in as the chorus starts, both usually run 16 bars so you can time it well off that.

why is that "too bad?"
it's much more efficient...and you can use high quality wave files instead of mp3s if you want, AND you can use vinyl as a controller if you want.
