  • Jamaica, Queens New York NY 1994. This music brings back memories from the Dancehalls in Jamaica Queens New York, NY. Does anyone knows if there are still dancehalls in New york which play this kind of Music?

  • yea like u'd admit that ur a kid and u have no life and ur immature. its not like im stupid. Im a DJ too. DJ XPLoSioN of X-Tuned Sound Crew. Ive been doing it for 6 years. Sure you can mix w/out effects but after a while it gets boring. I don't mix a song at a time. I do entire CD's at a time. That only sounds good w/ effects. so stop being a fucking asshole. All that says is ur a immature kid.

  • Chat shit, mixing sounds better with hosting and effects. But at the end of the day without them it's still mixing, and its the mixing thats the most important thing in terms of being a DJ. Anyone can push an effect button

  • WHat exatly do you mean by you mix albums at a time????

  • I mean I don't just do a few songs together and make it one mix. I do about 30-50 songs at a time and make a whole CD.

  • gotcha...

  • accusing someone about age when they have stated that they have DJ'd for 16years, nice i'm not sure where you got the solid evidence that this anakin has no life...however as you clearly are a better psychologist to those like froyd etc i am going to take your argument into account and yes i think i have came to same conclusion as anakin an resulting in telling you to "get the F outta here man"

  • by the way ur talking, i can tell ur a immature kid,

  • filete hermano encontro un tema qe buscaba valeeeee

    [bless & respect]

  • its not mixing unless u have some sound effects in there. otherwise its just crossfading. nice setup though. i like it. i have everything there but the turntable.

  • what do you mean?

beat matching????? thats the main part of mixing. not sound effects.....sound effects are nothing

  • базара нет, бля!!!

  • Not bad.

  • pioneer cdj 1000 mk3 is much better!

  • Well you wouldn't mind buying me a pair then.. :)

  • Wat Software is that where can i get it

  • sftwr: final scratch / serato scratch live

    str/shp: anywhere, dude. google it.

    it's expensive tho

  • whats go man. its go to see somebody mixing some reggae and not using a reggae cd that has 50 tracks on it using the same beat and tring to make u think there mixing noing u are NOT. lol but keep up the good work. not talking about u.

  • in dancehall scene its normal that u play 3-4 tunes each riddim, so in that way it is juggling !!! but jugglin to another riddim is mostly quit difficult

  • You got the first track wrong it's Buju Banton & Carol Gonzalez.

  • Sick mix! Luv it:)

  • Memories of Jamaica Queens New York NY 1994

The good old times of Dancehalls in Jamaica Queens NY!

  • true true

  • ill giv u ur props man this shit is sickkkkkkk

  • Back in the days !!

  • hot son keep doin what u doin my nigga 1

  • cant mix

  • i agree with kemicon i love how you can see the groves wynding down on a perfect mix i carry my lps and laptop its heavy but you get more respect on the electronica circuit. a dj uses vynil a disk jockey uses cds and other shit

  • this is sickkk i love this girls mis, she can get down, give her props!!!!!!

  • sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!

  • good playlist probably one of the better ten minute mixes, too bad you use a laptop though.

  • why is that "too bad?"

it's much more efficient...and you can use high quality wave files instead of mp3s if you want, AND you can use vinyl as a controller if you want.

  • I buy and play everything on vinyl, it's just a personal preference and I like to see people keep the art form alive. Using laptops is a good idea when playing out because you have to carry less and can do stuff like take requests. If you're playing at home though I think you should use the vinyl. I guess too many people cheat with laptops and still don't really mix all that well. It gets to the point where they sound like an ipod on shuffle, then what's the point.

  • And thats what sets real djs apart from everyone else... its not the tools that you use its how well you use them....

  • true, things like serato should make good DJs even better, but what its mostly doing is giving ppl who cant mix at all the illusion that they can DJ.

  • I feel you on that...

  • shabba ranks - Murder She Wrote (Remix)

  • shabba ranks - Murder She Wrote (Remix)

  • make fi dance, seen irie mon

  • he amazine is good . i dance lol

  • Why do you people care to comment on how old the songs are? just because something is old doesnt mean people no longer want to hear it.

  • because that when music was good oldies but goodies all the time

  • dude love the sound! there is just one but its to slow its not club material more for a day chillin at home, but still its nice make it explode then your the man for me haha!good luck Peace from Amsterdam

  • Big tings!!!!!!!

  • thx

  • great tunes!!!

  • vocals over vocals in any music can mess up a mix. dont care if its dancehall or jazz. in some cases its ok, if its mixed properly. if you mix a cd with over 60 tracks, it can become annoying. anybody can go back to the 90's to get a party going. the thing with yo mix tho, aint bad, just that yu kinda mixin outside of yo bars. especially if yu wanna dwell on dancehall music culture, keep it uniformed within a certain bar count. and cuttin is used alot in dancehall.

  • Nice early 90's dance hall mix...I was just listenin' to some old dance hall tapes with exactly the same selection. Big up from UK.

  • Classics

  • first 8.5minutes are too slow for a dancehall club. sorry. i know the songs they are great classics. but still. so yea. great mix though but not best for dancehall clubbing.except maybe from last 2minutes.

  • Love this mix

  • jajaja dumb ass never even change his records for every song that played. da boi isa fake mon.bloodclot!!!!!!!!!jajajajajaja

  • OK Einstein ooops I mean dodo : How about doing a bit research or getting yourself familiar with today's technology before making yourself look a total imbecilic.

  • well the research concludes that you show yourself scratching on records and hmmmm i can't here no cuts at all Einstein.......

  • Every time you post, it makes you look more foolish & shows how much you REALLY know about mixing and technology. Like I told you before please go do research before posting. If you need an explanation on why you can see me scratching & the scratches are not audible or the "records" not being changed, ask nicely & I will explain to you. If you too scared to admit that you DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT then "Google" (how to dj) and start reading.

  • Alright then so your just scratching for looks then on your video correct or no. When it comes to technology like the program you have it is awesome because it makes it easier. And by the way that mix that your playing was made in the late 1988, 1989 or even 90. I tell you this because i have on tape. Just like the other comments like Cherry1026 its old dude.

  • Ok - just so you can stop bugging me... Let me explain. I am NOT scratching for looks - I AM CUEING UP THE TUNE or scratching to drop the beat on point or matching beats as it is usually refered to. If you look keenly you can the XFADER is always closed to the manipulated side(if I am cueing up(scracthing) the TT on the left then the Xfader is on the extreme right or visa versa.

  • Yes it is majority of classic tunes I love the older tunes... and you guys must have the "march out - adionia" + the "duck 2k6 riddim - Instrumental"which both came out in 2006 on your old tapes with this exact mix too right..

  • this all the stuff i love!when peeps could just do their own thing and not look like robots cos we all be doing the same moves!

  • What you mixin on? Final scratch?

  • 2:14 - 3:15 has my favorite song

    bam bam - pliers

I first heard the song on the K Jah West radio station on Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

  • Wow..flashbacks..

would you mind mailing me the playlist?

  • The track list is already posted... Click on "more " to see the entire track list.

  • I have this mix on tape!!!!

  • You & daking808 both I guess.... *shrugs*

  • nice miniminx... how do u get the sound so clear? Are u using a video cam with audio ins?

CHeck out my page for some rnb mix thanks

  • I use a web cam & use the audio in from my mixer to my pc soundcard. If you use a video cam you can record the mp3 and then sync it with the video..

  • what did u use to record your video?

  • It's a free software called WinAvi video capture. There is a link to buy the program but if you scroll to the bottom of the page you will see the free version. Yeah a got those horn effects & stuff there all over the net....

  • my man u got any efx samples like horn and one shot stuff?

  • Cool music!!! even though I'm from Central America (Nicaragua)down there we love that music alot.

  • i've heard dat mix before.....

  • Most of the tunes played are over 10 years old & were popular selections so it is possible to have heard a similar mix before, but this is just an imperfect little mix I threw together...not someone else's mix.

  • dat first song stale jedz sweet jesus

  • great little mix

  • what riddim is this again....... track listing dude... better yet u got msn so we can trade mp3s.... im a digi waxx member but i dont have any dancehall at all

  • The track listing is already posted under the title..& it's a few different riddims.

Shhhh... with the file trading(it's illegal remember), besides I am too busy for msn these days.

  • wat the first tune name with buju and the girl

  • batty rider :P GTA 4 life :D

  • nice if u played this song at a party people will go wild they won't even complain that u were mixing vocals over vocals

  • If you're riding a song in and you have the beat *perfectly matched* the song may start clipping due to the syncronized bass lines. Cut the bass on the channel you're bringing in and then roll it up as you cross fade (till you're at 0db, or flat).

If you're gonna ride a buncha songs on the same riddim, there is usually some kinda preamble at the beginning, start brining that in as the chorus starts, both usually run 16 bars so you can time it well off that.

  • vocal over vocal no vocals to hell with it. the crowd doesn't knwo about all that they just wanna dance. at the end of the night if u rocked the crowd you're good. u think they are gonna go home and be like "yo son did u hear that dj mix vocal over vocal?" lol

  • the laptop is about 2years old - it's a Toshiba Pentium 2.4 with 1gig ram

  • what kind of laptop are you working with ?

  • not a dj by any stretch...but i do know that you should switch the songs at the right moment unless the mix just doesn't sound right

  • vocal over vocal is standard issue in dancehall - beatz is kinda ole still, but the presentation is good.

  • Gwan wit yo bad self deh man! been stateside for 19 years and no return yet(VI). Tanks alot. Big ups and much respect for your courage. Frig da hatas dem, ah you know yo cultcha

  • big up..and all u complaining about vocals ova vocals...it's kind of the rule in dancehall and reggae..who cares anyways...some selektas are actually so fired up they just push in the next chune...and when it comes to riddims....we drop the tune in...

  • gwarn nadene sutherland bus it. NUFF RESPECT TO THE DJ... TAKES ME BAK TO MY SCHOOL YEARS.
