Real hiphop like this isnt on the radio cuz the man doesnt like its message. They want to continue to flood your mind with bullshit pop ass tracks with no heart and soul. If they can keep you down then thats a plus for them. Eventually the underground wont be under anything anymore. When will we wake up and celebrate music the way it should be. What u hear on the radio is not music its a systematic collaboration of propaganda wether its hiphop/country/rock/jazz and so on. Music is life!
I was brought to this song cause i say Mayer Hawthrone was on this track... From when the beat hit shit was smooth chill ass music...why isn't music like this on the Radio but lil waynes faggot ass is and souja boy? damn sometings wrong here
man i dont even wanna mention the legend (you know who) cuz this song deserves mad props all on its own. Nottz is holding the torch right now. him and 9th are easliy my 2 current favorite producers
One day I will have my own music cable channel and there will only be real hip hop broadcasted in which everyone who rates this tune would get to vote on the content. I have a dream...
this is that real hip hop word. We have to keep it here it's getting to warriors thesed days. I like the smile on my face when someone said something hot like you feel the chills like lord finest example. When he compare shit it was crazy. Hiphop for life allday baby. Peace
i think Dilla's is perfect for a beat cd just like it was!!! Nottz is better for spitting over. Just a thought. Donuts is the best beat cd ever!!! not up for debate..lol
All due respect to dilla....but Nottz did so much more with this sample. I love Dilla but donuts was mostly just flipped samples with minimal drums/bass/etc added to it.
I hate it when people say this. People don't realize that dilla was on his death bed working hard just so he could finish Donuts before he died. During the final run throughs of the album he could barely sit up. Yet he still added complicated layers to the songs that you have to listen very closely to catch. Criticism is fine, but don't think he half-assed it or anything.
@halomunkey True what you're sayin. And you also have to add that Donuts give you a feeling, you can sort of feel his pain and his soul through the beats, which becomes like a "plot". Donuts is like a soundtrack to me. It's hard to express what I felt when I heard Donuts for the first time, but when you listen to it more and more you can hear like a deeper meaning.
Nottz is EASILY one of the dopest producers out there right now, Dilla can be proud of what he's doing in the game. Big Up Nottz!
dilla had nothing to do with this song. its just the same sample. dilla flipped a completely different part of the song.

@stedford1 i wholly agree with you. but however, there is a reason why real hip hop has stayed underground.
