It may change the sound slightly, but it would likely sound even better. If you remove the cat, get ready for some serious volume. It wont sound bad, but you might want to wear ear plugs when you drive the car, lol!

i dont have a cat on my 2000 lude w the same exhaust you have and it sounds perfect. not overly loud at all
