  • @Gamer9716 Because it was a rainy track

  • @Gamer9716 yeah no shit... notice the wet track?

  • All depends on your driving style.

  • @rock3tcat the clutch is only used during the pit lane and when the car is at a stand still at all other times no clutch is used in the manual sequential gear box

  • @odv18 The point in the video he was referencing was when the car was pulling out of the garage, so yes, it was the clutch.

  • Whats the name of the driver?

  • @Cenafu89 Martin Brundle

  • Comment removed

  • He talks whilst driving in 230 km/h! I can't even concentrate to talk to anyone when I shit! o.O

  • v10 is an eargasm

  • nice one webber

  • Lets go drive our F1's now.

  • Excellent vid.

  • so slow when oversteering

  • nice driving but how about the DRS?

  • Oh Crikey! Sticky! And I mean those tires!

  • Put on

  • Awesome special effects!

  • Cheesey computer graphics hehehehe

  • Jeez, that steering wheel looks ancient by today standards.

  • The clutch is only used for take-offs so when the driver releases it, the car will bite into gear

  • the sound of V10s

    !

  • Meant - *shit* bucket!

  • Very informative video - forget the F1 bit- young "experts" in any jap shut bucket should watch this!

MB a way better driver than he was credited with- these are hard cars to drive...

  • oooowwww,, i can now drive my mclaren mp4-23 (i ask santa that year to give me a mclaren :P)

  • awesome video! Thanks for posting!

  • this cars are Semi-Automatics it doesñ't need clutch you have to hear the engine to know when's the right time to shift :S

  • @antraxxx89 You can see the clutch work at 0:46

  • @antraxxx89 no you look at the led shift indicator lights haha

  • gona go drive my corsa now pretending it to be a f1 car.

  • so 20 morons think they can drive an F1 car better

  • at 4:22 it looks like those three guys are taking a piss.

  • 1:36 oversteers while is supposed to udnersteer xD

  • @mikojan85

    The track is wet...

  • Thanks ill try this now, never mind I don't own a F1

  • I'm pretty sure a lot of kids around town with dropped hondas and a coffee can as a muffle are thinking of this video

  • i wanna drive a F1 car :(

  • 0:45 is that the clutch he's operating?

  • @rock3tcat Pretty sure it is, clutch is located on the back of the steering wheel and he is moving it with the revs.

  • @rock3tcat those are paddle shifters. The right paddle shifts up and the left paddle shifts down. I don't believe that there is a clutch pedal either. A lot of road legal sports cars have these now as well.

  • @surferbrah84

No I did some research into this and what you see there is the clutch lever, the shifters are located on the outside of the steering wheel. F1 cars aren't fully automatic so they do have clutches that are manually operated..

  • @rock3tcat Yeah, they only need the clutch to move the car from a standstill. It isn't needed to actually change gears.

  • @rock3tcat yes

  • @rock3tcat yes

  • @rock3tcat thats the gear shift man.

  • @rock3tcat Left = gear down & right = gear up (?)

  • @rock3tcat Yeah they are paddle shifters

  • @rock3tcat That's exactly what it is. The clutch is right next to one of the gear shifters, on the back of the steering wheel. If you look closely there are two paddles on one side, and just one on the other. Two gear shifts, up and down, then the clutch.

  • @rock3tcat yes it is the cluth

  • @rock3tcat yup

  • i love it when peopele say F1 isnt a sport, you dont know how fit you have to be an F1 driver, and the amount of control you need on it, i'll never be an F1 driver so i want to get into working for a team :S

  • i want to be a f1 driver when im older

  • what applies to F1 applies also to Touring Cars

  • brundles great an makes a great commentator. he knows what hes talking about an i* like his personality

  • brundles great an makes a great commentator. he knows what hes talking about an like his personality

  • SEEDEYABAA

  • I hate Brundle, he has a shit personality...to professional??

  • Noob driver LOL :)

  • Vettle is better

  • i miss brundle's lack of manners on the grid on f1 coverage

  • now thats a V10 F1 engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the real F1 sound that u fall in love with!!!!

  • Brundle may be a legend but he sounds so boring!!!!

  • a true F1 Driving lesson:

    /watch?v=x2o1klPy5dU

  • brundle is a jedi look at the start

  • wow! I remember this from like almost 5 years ago :)

  • Ok, thank you my friend, now I can drive my formula 1 car:)

  • Redbull is always the available car that brundle can test with

  • Nothing beats the sound of a Formula One engine. Nothing. That sound is hypnotic. I want more. I need more.

  • Driving lesson? Yeah because we all need to pass our formula 1 tests dont we.

  • i miss the v10s! :(

  • Understeer? Erm....try braking earlier maybe?

  • @ austriaforever. All the clever people putting it together. They're british.

  • Brundle in an austrian F1 car ;)

  • classic brundle in classic british weather

  • F1 can eat out the asshole of a 97 year old woman, IRL all the way

  • @poopingweenis fuck irl, its just open wheel nascar

  • @MrDickNixon nah its actually shitty because it's a better version of F1, which is the devils asshole of auto racing

  • yo' I'm so confident that I can beat that Sebastian Vettel anytime now

  • Think I'm ready to take the world championship now.

  • i need views! please view!

    youtube.com/watch?v=JXGIp8dnd9U

  • brave, driving the pinnicle of motor engineering, the most highly developed fastest vehicle on the planet, and screwing up aerodynamics etc and still thrashing it very brave

  • Modern drivers are props. They get the best looking, most well spoken to rep the darling brands of socialism and human suffrage of the lower class. Ever notice the 20+ PC workstations at the paddock during a race? THEY are the ones driving the car. Not some silly pretty man-boy with a tight butt. It is a mere $1 Billion video gaming rig.

  • @itisYOUREnotYOUR cool story bro

  • @itisYOUREnotYOUR get in there and drive one then, champ.

  • @itisYOUREnotYOUR seems like someone hates F1 Drivers..

  • why would teach people how to drive a formula car what are the odds of owning one

if you can't effort most people cant even effort a normal car how the in the earth average person can effort an F1 car.

  • @Shazee083 why do anything in life? maybe to help people to understand something they enjoy watching...not that hard to figure out.

  • @Shazee083 i never said teach but i like to own of my own that why it would be a head tuner

  • looks so fun.

  • yeah it would be that hard to do. Just pop a small tube cam into the left corner right behind where the visor is. Would be better than that camera view above the drivers head.

  • The faster you go in a Formula car the more grip and downforce you have ..

  • @iTzzEuphoriaaaaaa ...on the straights, yeah. Not on the turns, and depending on wings/camber setup.

  • Then, basically, the engineers are doing most of the work these days! Senna would have had more fun in the 21st century. He was all talent. RIP Senna

  • thanks for teaching... NOW LET ME TRY IT! :D

  • he uses the dynamic racing line! codemasters! what did you do? bad enuf you make noobs online use the racing line but....real life? srsly?

  • great vid thanx! I did understand more than before!

  • gotta love that v10 scream. yummy!

  • They shoudl definately bring in helmet view to F1

  • Soo dats what i was doing wrong ... hmmmm ;)

  • Good video! I can now try some setups on my Formula 1 Simulator!

  • The identity of the character, who test-drives cars around the Top Gear track, was divulged at the weekend as Ben Collins, a Bristol-based former American speedway driver and stuntman who doubled for Daniel Craig in the latest James Bond film. !!!!!

  • fantastic video, thank you!

  • this video is badass. rly

  • I wonder if this guy is the STIG??

  • @copperlocks1 the stig is ben collins, but he's been sacked because his name got out due to a court case. Collins is now driving in the british tourning car championship.

  • @2697jam Darn!!..that sucks..I rather like the anonimity of THE STIG..I did not hear about this turn of events..thank you for the update.

  • Just to chime in the whole nascar argument, I've watched Nascar, i can't stand it to be honest. i don't see the excitement of cars driving in a circle... F! is a whole different level.

  • I love F1 but the commentators don't "get me locked in" like NASCAR's does, also the drivers don't seem as lively....but damn does the scream from those F1 engines give me a tingle every time.

  • lol I got understeer & oversteer the wrong way round!

  • wow thats the old red bull

  • anyone that argues ovals vs. circuits is stupid.

  • MARTIN BRUNDLE IS A LEGEND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A lot of ranting about NASCAR and F1 here. Why can't you enjoy both, they are completely different and both are full of skilled drivers. NASCAR is more popular in the US sure, but in the rest of the world F1 is by far the most popular. The 2010 season has been one of the best for many years, amazingly talented and skilled drivers, and engineers. Its about pushing technology as much as it is about the perfection of driving a car, driver and machine in harmony, a pure team sport.

  • /watch?v=KTT_bhitWyY

  • gonna go drive my Ferrari f1 now

  • @Qasimbajwaa best comment on youtube

  • Stiff suspension makes the car drive like a kart :)

  • brundle is a legend

  • great vid! really cool

  • Watching cars continually overtaking is boring. Some of the excitement in F1 is the anticipation of an overtaking maneuver e.g Barrichello hunting schumacher down at Hungary two weeks ago for several laps before finally nailing it.

  • @matteaton88 I totally agree

  • @ajlepisto NASCARs race around in circle for 200 laps, if that's not boring then what is.

  • I'm wondering, but what part of the car do they use to tweak understeer and oversteer, anyone knows?

  • @powerfultoa7 front and rear wing angles have the most effect. For example a greater rear wing angle than front wing angle will result in understeer and vice versa for oversteer. However, brake bias and weight distribution can also be changed to change under/oversteer. Hope that helps.

  • @matteaton88 Thanks m8, appreciate it. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • is that the stig????

  • @delsultano He's not the Stig, but he is the Stig's old single uncle!

  • @TheAngryAltair oh that's make a sense ..........

  • the camera from the helmet looks awesome. i wish they would use that in f1. much more realistic than the overhead view

  • This sums it up: I am American, i have watched ZERO NASCAR races and at least 4 F1 races flag to flag. F1 is much better. Can't WAIT for Codes F1 2010 to ship (just need a good wheel now)

  • You break it you buy it XD

  • F1 is "boring" because it's as much about the team and the engineering as it is the racing.

Nascar is more about the drivers. They have a ton of restrictions and all of the cars look identical, and produce the same power.

In F1, they have more freedom when it comes to car design and engine output, so while they do have rules, they can engineer advantages that Nascar teams cannot.

If you like engineering AND racing, F1 is your sport. If you just wanna watch cars race, Nascar.

  • @ajlepisto If you wanna watch a Formula series about drivers, there's GP2, GP3, Palmer Audi, BMW series, Renault series, where all the cars are 'spec', which means, all the same. That means mostly driver skill is involved. Why should F1 be another spec league?

  • great film!

  • F1 Is one of the most boring motosport..... There is never an overtake... Go wach Moto Gp.

  • @Rossi46Woho yh, well there is nw

  • @Rossi46Woho You haven't watched too much F1 lately I take it. There has been plenty of overtaking this season and lots of excitiment in the races. No it's not like Nascar but I wouldn't want it to be. Moto GP is motorbikes and I do enjoy that very much but it's not the same thing. F1 is what it is and there are millions of fans who love it and don't feel it is boring.

  • @Garrison64 to bad i have wached all the races this year and it keeps getting more boring. It sucks and they don't have any overtaking.

  • @Rossi46Woho well youve come at the wrong time. if you watched every season for the past 10....they were all boring. this season has in fact been by far the most exciting

  • @garethkielty I can admit that the points in the championchip is exciting. But the racing at the track is just lame. infackt it cant be called racing.

  • @Rossi46Woho Nice try at trolling but I've seen them all too so I know you are just making shit up.

  • @Rossi46Woho i guess webber flying upside down under a bridge on the streets of valencia is boring, LOL

  • looks like 12 people accidentally hit the dislike button.

  • WOW...che spettacolo!

  • Very educational video, with digital annimations. Good job

  • he drives that car like a champ. full confidence

    is that the rb5?

  • @KieranMatthews626

    it's more like the rb1

  • ure stig from top gear!!!!! dont deny it haha

  • Damn wish I could see the lap times.

  • i HATE understeer, it's incredibly annoying, oversteer is my thing :)

  • you are all fucking retarded, why is it that every single f1 driver that comes to NASCAR sucks? and also having a computer in your steering wheel is the pussiest thing ever. there are handling assists on the car, in NASCAR you actually have to be able to work your car how it is. and in NASCAR you are constantly racing another person unlike in F1, oh and lets not forget the fact that F1 wants NASCAR drivers to do the indy 500 since nobody gives a shit about F1

  • @amberthelard

No monsieur dipshit, watching fat Americant's driving around in a circle while eating a burger is the pussy way to go... :D

  • @amberthelard fail

  • @amberthelard I don't see how anyone can defend NASCAR. The race is won by pitstops and whoevers car doesn't break. That's not racing. I'm ashamed that NASCAR is so popular in my country. Rally and F1, that's where the real drivers are.

  • @MyOpinionMatterss Not to sounds bias for either side but F1 has been about this for years.

  • @amberthelard I think you will find F1 cars have no handling assists whatsoever. Electronic aids have been cut apart from pit lane limiter (safety reasons).

  • Watching this stoned makes you feel like you're in the car man omg

  • cool video

  • With the 2010 rule changes F1 seems to be lacking something

  • @cp3killer1 overtaking? they should bring back refueling

  • @cp3killer1 lacks random fires

  • @evoben24,yomama629,emowaffle1648,wyattnoahliko

To bad the rest of America doesnt agree with you

  • oh, i will

  • such a sexy sound

  • mi sueño es hacer eso algun dia de mi vida, luego que lo haga, podre morir feliz...

  • i want to drive one!

  • @firdauzart no you dont
