  • Damn ricers, if you want boost put a turbo or super charger not a damn leaf blower.

  • @Bandbauto84 dumbass...the leaf blower puts in more psi than both a turbo or super charger. That's the whole point of the video.

  • @mdshagman Ok if thats the case then why dont i see any cars driving around with leafblowers on them instead of turbos or supers. Ive seen a tercel with a 1.5L and a SINGLE turbo pushing 26psi of boost. Plus I dont see you having a drop cord being drug behind your car everywhere you go either. Plus without tuning there is no way a car would have any performance gains regardless. So in other words the video is just some ricers being stupid.

  • @Bandbauto84 1.) 26 psi is lower than most leaf blowers. Your average leaf blower does 60psi. 2.) If you were smart, you would put the power inverter for the leaf blower under the hood. If you're not that talented, then put the inverter inside your car, connect it to your accessory outlet, and run the leaf blower wire along the inside fender into the car. It's not hard. 3.) You're assuming they didn't do any tuning, but even with a turbo, you should be tuning so that's an irrelevant point.

  • @mdshagman That is 26 psi on a 1.5l, but if you put that same turbo on a engine 3x the size then the boost will be higher. With larger displacement the boost will be higher as well. As far as a power inverter just to rig the leaf blower to the car, its not worth the trouble to make the attempt. Plus a 60 psi leaf blower would maybe only make 30 psi boost on earlier mentioned 1.5l because you would have to overcome the vacuum the engine produces before you can make boost.

  • @Bandbauto84 It's 1.5L not 4.8L like in a Cadillac meaning that you wouldn't lose so much psi boost trying to fill that tiny space. A leaf blower would do a shitty Tercel wonders. It wouldn't be so great on a massive engine. I'll level with you there. But it's still much more effective in both cost and performance than a turbo.

  • gay ass song though

  • Are they all gay or just the girly man who chose to use that song as the background noise?

Seriously though, a big enough leaf blower on a small enough motor will create power. However on the typical size of a car motor a leaf blower will only restrict air flow unless the engine is running at a very low RPM.

I know that, and I'm a chick. Sure this video was a joke and meant to be a joke, but why give these 16 year old ricers false hopes of using daddy's leaf blower to increase HP?

  • @naitojulia hmmmm, i don't think you know the true output of leaf blowers, more so the petrol ones.

  • @fergfergferg123 I don't know for certain what the output volume is on a leaf blower. I suspect a typical handheld one is around 300-400 CFper min (free flowing). I would also suspect that with even as little as 1 lb per sq in of resistance on the output the CF per a minute will likely drop by 10% or more. So I stand by my statement. If you are feeding a small enough motor, yest it will provide boost. But even a small motor at high RPM will create a vacuum in the intake. Leaf blower won't work.

  • @naitojulia yes this engine is small!! probably two litres or less

  • @naitojulia just swallow :P

  • Need a boost gauge on the blower outlet to see if it is actually getting the engine out of a vacuum. If not, the leaf blower is just showing what the engine could do with a REALLY efficient intake system and heads.

  • Hey, check out GATOR SUPERCHARGERS online. do a search on google!

  • This is how bad shit happens with your buddies in vocational class.

  • @Mr16Valve

these guys are retarded fucking morons, not just regular morons.

Bunch of twelve sangwich eatin sonsabitches

  • wow, fucking retarded music choice, am i right?

  • This is not "turbo" contrary to what you all think. While it is an entertaining video i will give it that...theres things wrong with this. You can just blow any old air into your intake and call it turbo. Turbo is FORCED INDUCTION. It requires pressurised air. THis is free blowing air and not powerful at that. What your seeing here is the fuel to air mixture leaning out. Leaning it will give more power but causes more heat. Silly honda guys...

  • @ForsakenCrimmy And turbo engines are lower compression. If you were to stop a turbo on a turbo car, from spooling, the same model non-turbo car would beat the turbo car. Nice way to fool around the shop and blow up someone's car. Ooh, scary. I'll never take my car in for 'service'.

  • Standing in FRONT of a car during a dyno pull.........Real Smart.........NOT!!

  • Curious what the air:fuel looked like during all that. Would think it would be way lean.

  • >.> when i clicked the video i thought they put a turbo charger on a leaf blower

  • Bunch of fucking faggots.... And I can prove it by the song choice. God hates you.

  • Great soundtrack for the video. Nothing like blasting Alanis with a leaf-blower under the hood. Even better if it's hooked up to a lawnmower engine.

  • lmao i wonder how long it will be before we all see people driving around with leaf blowers sticking outta their hoods! hahaha

  • great success!

  • You guys r funny and I wouldnt have believed it if you didnt post it!!!!

  • the nitrouse might have been a bad idea, but the old leaf blower add on still funny.

  • This is hilarious.

  • If your car/truck can't make power without a leaf blower then you have not built your car right!

  • just go to figure out a way to keep your friend with the leaf blower in the engine compartment and you have a home made turbo install lol nice video

  • if the blower is placed B4 the MAF sensor the computer will compensate for the the added air and send more fuel

  • wow... ricers will try anything to get extra hp.

  • wow.... they added lots of air and no extra fuel.... WIN! lol retards.... and this B.S. pissing contest over hondas and chevys... ge-sus will it ever end? Honda's come with a variety of compression ratios all about standard and the same as any chevy or dodge or ford or toyota so both of you idiots stop! 8.5-10 is normal for any N/A car. You can boost them but not a whole lot. Its all relative (boost:c/r). you knuckle heads... IDIOTS LIKE YOU 2 ARE WHY I DONT BRING MY CAR INTO SHOPS! lol

  • yay leaf blower dyno!!!

  • n/a 138

    with blower 177 ?

  • so if i get better rings and forged pistons, its like having a 2psi turbO!

  • Thank you finaly someone shows all em jap strap turbo honda low compression fanatics that a leaf blower also creates forced induction...most you idiots out there dont even know how a turbo works but all you care about on your lil honda is that you have a turbo to compensate for a low compression engine

  • @camaroking250 honda's have high compression motors, thats why you cant turbo them over 7lbs without pistons, rods etc. get your shit straight.

  • @TOXIKKOBK lmao high compression motors??? give me a break buddy, hondas are not high compression, if they were high compression they wouldnt last sooo freakin long, they have enough compression to move them uphill and that is honestly it, I own a honda and the only reason why I bought it was because it was cheap on gas and reliable, you cant turbo it over 4psi because it aint built to handle it. the jap cars that come stock turbod are infact lower compression engines, look it up retard

  • @camaroking250 no shit the turbo motors have lower compression hurrrrrrrr. you cant boost a stock high comp motor. but whatever i only work for honda. i must be some kind of idiot to argue with a "camaroking".

  • @TOXIKKOBK you can boost a stock high compression motor, just now very much unless you want to be replaceing internals. im surprised that you work for honda because you don't really know your stuff. Im an automotive service technician, I see lots of different types of vehicles and "camaroking" is my user name because I like camaro, my camaro has a ls1 with twin turbo chargers on it and there is nothing stock in that cars engine and its my daily driver. I recommend you go buy a powerful prius lol

  • That's pretty awesome... I always have wanted to know if that would actually work.

  • Should i get that electic superchager? Is it worth it?

  • nos= nitrous oxide system

  • it prolly didn't increase the psi so much as make it brethe a lil bit easier since it has not air filter anymore and of course nitrous would do that, hence increased hp

  • funny sickshit :)

  • stupid thing to do, but at least i lol'd!

    so: LOL!

  • I didn't know that a blower could increase the power in this way

    Salu2

  • then you're an idiot. What do you think a turbo does?

  • Bored?

  • You guys crazy...But I like it...

  • Please tell me name of song :)

  • Dude common its alanis morissette - Ironic... Everyone should know that shit lol

  • lets destroy more foreign communist cars

    YAY!

  • A good way of blowing it up, but awesome! Totally wnat to try that now (minus the NOOOSSSS).

  • Funny, But you wont see me doing that.. Bodged As Owt!!!! haha

  • HONDA =

    Hang On, Not Done Accelerating

  • HONDA=

    Had One, Never Did Anything...

  • @Breze84 thats toyotas new saying also

  • Haha, nice experiments :) Amazing boost of power with that cooling gas, whatever that was? NOS?

Have you tried powering the blower (whatsoever) with onboard current, meaning 12V from the generator?

  • dude I hope you blew a bunch of trash and shit into your engine so I can laugh everytime I see a honda. I'd laugh my balls off if he sucked up his t shirt and fed it to his valve train......!

  • please re upload this video with no music and original sounds. WMG still sucks.

  • 05 si hatch

  • No, that's def. a Civic. RSX has vastly different headlights for one.

  • A buddy and i did that only we used an electric yard vac and filled his washer fluid resivoir with gas and ran a line into his carb it deffinetly made a difference I wouldnt recomend driving the car like this to much but it still worked

  • Comment removed

  • were does it say electric leaf blower? im pretty sure it was gas powered- i ve never seen an electric leaf blower anyways

  • The one he uses is gas yes. I must have been thinking of the other 'leaf blower' video's I was watching at the same time. my bad.

  • it seems your dumb brain doesnt know that nitrous isnt flamable. it supercharges the air with oxygen. completly non flamable. go look it up on google.

  • it's still an explosive with the right fuel. three parts to fire, heat, fuel, oxygen.

  • if i had won the lotoo id do stupid shit like this and drive through my friends houses

  • lol you guys have too much free time

  • theres a reason they put those filters on your car....

  • OMG you allmost made 200 HP..

    YOU SUCK

  • no duh cuz theres nos being used at 2:48

  • You don't just need NOS, you need to add fuel as well or the engine will goes way lean and boom.

  • ts called nitrous mr know it all

nos is a fucking brand name

    goddamn you fast and furious

  • Nitrous. Oxide. System.

NOS.... not just a brand name.

  • it is just a brand name

  • @HouSC2 NOS = Nitrous Oxide Systems < ( note the 's' on the end) It IS just a brand name.

  • @OrioThyGrim Well its nitrous oxcide aka laughing gas and nos also stands for nitrous oxcide system.

  • @OrioThyGrim You are wrong. It's Nitrous Oxide N2O. Take the oxide out and you are left with just nitrogen which is not an oxidizer so you will be injecting useless nitrigen into your cylinders which will decrease performance.

And that's like calling hydrogen peroxide "hydrogen". two completely different substances. just saying.

  • @MichaelFleming2011 Simple Chemistry!! :) Smart man!

  • @OrioThyGrim Nos give you more power but it also burns holes through the top of your pistons.

  • @danraich The only reason NO2 does that, is because people let it go lean. That is why you must also supply more fuel when running NO2. I have ran it on a lot of engines without a problem, since I know enough to keep it from going lean. Keeping the total timing slightly advanced and bringing the advance-curve up at a lower RPM also helps, too.

  • I would try with a better leave blower. lol. but funny video.

  • SHAIT!!! Omg! Damn you guys! ;D LOL! Thats wicked!

  • how bored do you have to be to say hummmm lets stick a leaf blower in the intake and see what it does than put NO2 in it but still funny as hell almost as funny as all these guys taking it seriously and breaking down how it works and why

  • DUMB..GET A LIFE..ALANNIS..WTF

  • That was pretty funny to see, but you could probably get the same gains with ram air, problem with dynos is the car isn't moving.

Gotta love that torque curve on that honda flat as a pancake, nothing compared to the truck

  • do you have to rev the blower all the way??? plz reply??

  • SHENS!!!

  • che bbomba!!

  • This will probably only give good power gains on the dyno with the blower plugged into mains. Try it with the blower running on the battery and watch the power drop as the alternator lag kicks in from the extra load. LOL nice try guys.

  • you could just hook a 2 stroker up under the hood.

  • LOL I didn't even think of that! Problem solved, brilliant, would make a funny sounding contraption.

  • i drove a 94 prelude 2.2 with a leaf blower turbo and you could deffinatly feel the power difference

  • I agree with people stating that to show any boost, the blower used has to exceed the intake pressure.But...there are mods such as cold air and warm air intakes along with ram air and they do make gains. These do not exceed intake pressure, but the gains are there because at WOT there is a big demand for air and sometimes you get a vaccuum or slowed supply of air with stock intakes.Fans can get more in and act like what an intake would do, and possibly a little more.Someone dyno an E-RAM.

  • Wait i dont understand the firt time u leaf blow it the powwer only goes up a lil. but the second time it goes up even more? Why isnt it consistent.

  • Second time there is a guy to the right of the leaf blower spraying N02 out of the bottle into the air that is beging sucked into the leaf blower then into the engine.

  • oh realy. Thanks for the reply.

  • HAHA look at that insanely weak tourqe curve. my lawn mower has a better curve than that.

  • id be funny if that car backfired and the flame exploded the NO2 bottle. LOL

  • Yes, because we ALL know that nitrous is highly flammable!

    hahahahahhahaha!!!

  • what are they blowing into

  • lmao

  • I dont understand WTF they are doing!?!?

    X(

  • Using a leaf blower as a turbo.

  • are you guys really that bored? hahahahaha that was some funny shit!!

  • 10hp gain? I wonder if that would equate to real gains if I got one of those E-ram electric superchargers? The only difference is, the E-ram will draw amps off the car battery.

  • Your motor sucks in more air than the cheap electric fans can blow. If anything they get in the way of the normal operation.

  • How much extra did the leafblower add?

I watched the video and only see numbers of when the car had the blower on, so I can't compare.

  • watch the first of it... baseline run i would assume ... of 138

  • "true but vtech is gay'

wow learn to spell and grow a dick you faggot

  • They totally ignore the other part of the mixture; fuel. Or am I to assume that civic's and old trucks already know how to compensate for extra air and nitrous from the factory?

  • some of them do yeah... if the have a mass air flow ecm system then they can compensate to a degree...well for the air at least, not the nos

  • NO2 is air BTW.

If you've ever tuned a fuel map you'd know that a factory tuned, N/A vehicle normally wouldn't know to change A/F ratio to something a little safer for boost. Those cars were probably detonating like crazy under WOT.

  • No i dought it the PCM can compensate for a certain amount of air, and if it was detnating wed here it.

  • if its a maf sensor set up it can... to a degree... but a map sensor set up has a small range that it can read

  • true, but don't they make high performance Mass Airflow Sensors for forced induction that would be able to adjust for more pressure variance?

  • yes, but while using a leaf blower for a turbo, i cant see them paying for an aftermarket sensor, and a custom tuned ecm

  • you would also need a 12v leaf blower or step transformer which i really doubt would happen. Fun video all the same LOL

  • oh and an inverter so it could run he AC fan motor ;) The flow would need to raise with the reevs too :P or you will have bang bang at low revs if not low compression :D

  • the cars electric system couldn't even come close to running a electric leaf blower, i would go with a gas 2 stroke one myself

  • WoW.............

  • 187hp!? Why not get the Si model. You would have had 200hp. Oh well...

  • That is an Si model, the K20 in the EP3 Si has 160hp @ the flywheel and I'm not surprised it put down 138whp stock on the dyno.

  • Thanks for the correction. I thought all K20 engines produced 200hp and up. BUT, this is still a waste of time. Now, if there was a way you can rig it up, so that it shoots air into the intake then maybe it might be interesting... I think i confused the SI model with its TYPE-R reincarnated form. Whatever.

  • I completely agree, this is a waste of time. lol

  • The only thing I could say is... :)

  • well i don't think they wasted time. I think these guys just got an idea and tried it out. And were surprised it worked. Kinda kool, but at the same time i guess ur right it is sorta a waste of time lol. Still kinda neat tho

  • The idea is ok. It would be better if they found a way to rig it up, so that it constanly blows extra air into the intake. Like if they came up with a air intake system. Something like the VTEC system. Well, to each their own.

  • true but vtech is gay lol

  • vtec is a break threw in the automotive industry, after honda, most companies followed suite...

  • i'm just giving u a hard time buddy

  • yea i know :) its all good though, so when are you going to make this contraption?

  • nos

  • hahah only increased because of the nos

  • Only a 10 hp horsepower increase? Still boorrrrrring

  • 10 more than before, yah? :P

  • WHAT THe F****

thats sick, im trying that on my car right now !
