  • OMG!!

dude I have the Nexus one... how can I contact with u to upgrade my OS?

  • @jorgeramirezu Just google "CyanogenMod" :) It's easy to install

  • guys just get a new phone gosh it been like 3 years

  • was this recorded with a pop tart?

  • Can you upload a video to show How to download ICS on Nexus One

  • it seems to run fine for the most part. I honestly dont know why google droped support for the nexus one

  • Samsung officially confirmed ICS updatefor Galaxy S II, my guess is Q1 2012 release

  • So anything for HTC yet? better yet, HTC sensation?

  • Whats the website where u got the files? for the downloads

  • So ICS is never going to be released OTA for Nexus One?

  • @worldwideflyby

    nope....

  • It is sad that Google stopped supporting updates to Nexus One :(

  • Where can I get this?

  • great job!

  • dear god how did you murder the video so much

  • Android 2.3 foraver :)

  • boss

  • Good stuff, man =D

    Keep it up!

  • Kernel version ... 2.6 ?! ICS has the 3.0 linux kernel :/

  • it's official. N1 will NOT receive ICS OTA. :(

  • on 720p the video is rotated by 90 degrees and looks like an old 70's horizontally compressed movie... can you fix it... or do we have to wait for 4.1?

  • Can barely hear a thing you are saying

  • gonna stick with iPhone

  • The lack of hardware acceleration in the ui is funny because android never had it before and it really way that slow..

  • Le metiste el nuevo launcher 2.0 que salio en el market y le cambiaste la version de android en el buil.pro y reiniciaste para que te diga version de android 4.0 no mames yo se mucho de android y no me jodes ni empedo

  • The guy needs someone to show him how to operate a fucking touchscreen.

  • @VICARI0S well, probably he is holding the camera and working on the touchscreen at the same time, when he can install ICS on nexus one, he should definitively be good at touchscreens!

  • 有時候是不是卡卡的啊...

  • I'm wondering how phones that don't have a decent GPU will handle this.

  • Going to love this on my Nexus S

  • How did you do it

  • Did it have hardware 2d acceleration enabled?

  • CANT WAIT TO SEE ICS ON MY DESIRE ! :)

  • if the nexus one can run ICS then my EVO will be just fine

  • Hi dr1337, Does ICS still have the SIP stack from 2.3+ integrated? Cheers

  • @aehaynes Yes.

  • Can't wait to get it on my Samsung Galaxy S2

  • @seraph82 G1 was the OG and FIRST EVER Google Experience/Android phone.

  • @SuperElvisfreshlyATT what about the g1?

  • Great news! Managed to get WiFi working. Now testing it out.

  • For an sdk port this is not bad at all

  • Ok if the nexus one can run this they better update my DX2 lol

  • can not wait for my n1 to taste this delicious ice cream sandwich!

  • awesome! can't wait until it's ready for other phones (like my g2)

  • Boring

  • Can I get this uptade (sandwich ) on my Nexus S ??? (like a normal update)

  • @ja195 I was talking about launcher2 on gingerbread. A friend got one and it's unusable, he's FORCED to use a custom launcher. The actual port of ICS runs actually suprisingly well

  • @ingcorra you do know this is only sdk an its being emulated an not actual full thing right an source has not been released yet so its gonna be slow

  • I'm working on further refining this port. I have an idea to fix the sluggish graphics. If anyone has experience working with NDK, please PM me.

    Thanks!

  • Someone's in the process of porting ICS to the G2x as well. It's gonna be sooo awesome!

  • 17 people dislike this because they can't get ICS on their Nexus One.

  • come to daddy....

  • this works and looks better than the other port that was out a few days ago....will this work on ns4g?

  • I wish they still made phones with trackballs.

  • Rubish video. Keep your phone stable while filming.

  • Well done dude - great work. It's incredible that Nexus One still can run the latest SW, compared to how old it is.

  • Did you film this with an Ice Cream Sandwich?

  • @scriptofmagic It needs a new module called "hwcomposer" that it's needed for Hardware Acceleration. Maybe someday...

  • I may have to go android it seems you can do more stuff compared to ios

  • Source is now available on goo.gl / ETPsm

  • So if this runs ok on a Nexus one. Theoretically it should run fine on a Sidekick 4g since it's from the galaxy family as the Nexus S? (I chose the Nexus S because I heard that's getting ICS too)

  • Really looking forward to see this on my Nexus s. Can't wait!

  • Not very smooth, but an amazing performance.

  • I like it. :D Nexus One port =hd2 port Thx :]

  • EVO 3D PORT PLZ

  • wtf..it still uses old kernel..best is to get an nexus prime

  • I'm pissed that ICS is running better on the Nexus one than my Nexus S. -_-

  • @PowerRizer It's just an SDK port though. There was footage of a Nexus S running ICS and it was smooth as butter. It was apparently a dev phone that somehow ended up on eBay.

  • @xbull89 No you can't. They don't have the same hardware, either.

  • I just flashed an SDK port on my g2. It boots but broken to death. Once the source code is released we'll be in luck.

  • it will come on cm9 to all phones

  • Also, I've heard that if you have a Nexus S/Galaxy S/S2 then you're in luck because a little birdie told me there's a system dump of it floating somewhere on the inter webs.

  • @dr1337md where can I download the rom or original version for Galaxy S2? :)

  • OK, the ROM should be out later sometime today. Prepare to be disappointed.

Also looking for experienced ROM cooks to package this up for CWM. I might just dump this on a git repo.

  • @dr1337md

Thanks in advance. I assume a link will be posted here?

  • If this is running on that np for the Almighty Evo mutha

  • Yes it is real he shows it at the end in Phone info.

  • Is that actually real? Not just some thming and launcher customization...?

  • the screen rotates when you put this in 720p. :)

  • @bconover93

    Yeah thats very weird!

  • I think I have to love u for doing that

  • what kind of video is this, you have rectangle in front of your camera?

  • The Nexus One lives on. It's been the best, longest lasting device I've owned. It's still as competitive today as when I bought it on release day. It's still better than most of the crap getting released now, but google consistently get it right, Galaxy nexus is spectacular, If I had the cash that'd be a worthy successor. I think I'll wait for the source code release and CM9 rather than port anything yet though.

  • admit it or not, the only successful Nexus device is Nexus One. It's been through hell and back but look, still can compete with other new models when it comes to upgrades.

  • @askarme thats cuz google is doing nexus with the wrong company (samsung) if they go back to htc its over

  • @askarme I was going to post a comment similar to yours but then I seen yours. I wish I could thumbs it up more times. Nexus One is still beast.

  • Right, but only if you judge all of the nexus models by upgrades. I'd still take the original google experience device - the OG Droid - over a Nexus One any day. The Galaxy Nexus shits on both, though.

  • @seraph82 the original google experience device was the g1 -_-

  • @User1234510 No, that was just the first publicly sold Android phone. Big, big difference.

  • @seraph82 You don't know what you are talking about. The G1 is the first public Android phone and the first Google experience phone. It was fully stock and had all Google apps as well as the Google logo.

  • @User1234510 I don't know what I'm talking about? What part of what I said was wrong in any way? There were no *non* Google Experience phones when the G1 came out. There were no third party overlays to lend any significance to a "Google Experience" product back then, and there was no such thing as a "Google Experience" product back then because of this. The significance of "Google Experience" only came to be after phones with third-party android overlays came into being.

  • I don't understand why this would make the Nexus S an unsuccessfull device. The Nexus one shows an incredibly low frame rate with launcher 2, which force you to change launcher, has got no multi-touch, won't probably receive an official upgrade to ICS, maybe you can call this a successfull device but a Nexus S shows none of this issues so far. I think that some people like more to try a new buggy rom every day instead enjoying a fast and reliable device which don't even need to be rooted

  • @ingcorra

the n1 does have multi touch...

  • @musikmakerfan it's not real multitouch, and suffers from axis flipping. Works in simple situations only, like pinch to zoom. It IS a great phone, but there's no reason to say it's the ONLY one successfull nexus phone

  • @ingcorra

wtf are you talking about.... it has all that. are you gay?

  • @askarme I've thought of getting the nexus s (cant afford the galaxy nexus, nor do i think i want it that much), but your comment made me reconsider.

What exactly does the nexus one have on the nexus s (in a serious matter, i dont ask to be condescending).

  • Glad I still have my one

  • Immediately stopped watching when you didnt rotate the camera/phone/whatever you were using to film this with.

  • :O blasphemy

was this recorded with an iPhone?

  • Waiting for Samsung Gio port :P

(s5660.pl) !!! NAJLEPSZE POLSKIE FORUM O TEMATYCE GALAXY GIO !!!

  • That means the classic desire can handle it :D

  • Great nexus one... now i'm sure my desire s can running ICS :)

  • Bełkot, dno i chała.

  • Wow that's an ugly phone.

  • We neeeed this for X10

  • So is this port available to the public yet? If so can someone give me the link. THX

  • @TheAndroguy i bet it is only in the alpha version, it will not be stable or exit beta until google gives the source code to the developers.

  • Anyone port on x10

  • @revs123456 No, they said it would run on all devices (i.e. Tablets and Phones) which has been widely misinterpreted to mean every phone that has GB will get ICS, which simply isn't true. I think HTC gave up on the Desire with the 'developer only' GB release, and I really can't imagine older Samsung devices getting official upgrade, just because it's Samsung we're talking about. You may get a community-developed release, but if it's an older device it's not gonna come from the manufacturer!

  • link of the rom pleaseee!!!

  • a litle bit like go lancher ex :-) - there you get some features of google optic 4.0

  • Is there a Thread or something where you can download this ROM?

  • great.. but this is not official.. i guess we all n1 users have to wait if google really want to make ics 4 us... i got a feeling they will, they said all phones running on gingerbread should have it

  • i hope someone will port it for my desire. can't wait...:P

  • @ciprigeorgiu nexus one and htc Desire are twins!! you can boot a nexus one rom on desire and all should work because they have the same hardware except the trackball! ;)

  • @ciprigeorgiu yes, the Team MIUI

  • OH GOD MY EYES ARE BURNING
