  • Umm in the movie weren't the images holograms vfloating in air? I don't recall there being a screen.

  • all we need is a omni tool and mass effect will be a reality :)

  • this is shit compared to what they have now. (in the labs) lol this is from 3 years ago!

  • what's the music playing here?? very peaceful could use it to help me sleep better

  • I think i just had an orgasm o.o

  • Can I have one? I especially liked the part where he was flying through the millions of Chinese characters - I'm guessing they all linked to something. That to me felt like, "Whoever's got that search engine just bankrupted Google". XD

  • @IntarwebUser The idea behind that particular scenario is that the interface is introducing to the user a LARGE amount of data all at once - something that our brains can process very quickly in a visual format. Each "Chinese character" represents quite simply "a piece of information". The implications of this are huge in terms of searching and sorting, the main benefit being speed, and also feeling more "natural" to use rather than a mouse or other input device.

  • If i was only the richest mime in the world

  • super awesome...... I don't want to die b4 seeing the future of tehnology

  • @Desdimona25 youll see it grandpa

  • Wow, I can see the future... Hope I can reach that time...

  • This OS will more than likely be available on personal computers. It doesn't require as much more than a PC has today. Look at the X-Box Kinect. Same basic principles just with different programming. The Kinect allows you to play video games without a controller so of course with the technology in computers today it will be possible on a PC. Not to mention if you look at Moore's Law, in 18 months, our computers will be double what they are now.

  • good workout

  • JUST GOT MINORITY REPORT ON blu ray, BOY SHIT IS SIK

  • As in the "Minority report" movie!!

  • We want more videos, this is such a technology, instead of the led or LCD screen they will be using holographic screen which is also available, have fun with virtual OS in a OS, the future is just beginning, its now going to be like Iron man.

  • Incredible new technology that paves the way for innumerable future uses. Whether it be the film and television industry or new participatory educational methods, G-Speak is revolutionizing the way technology and people interact.

  • they need to make the gloves light up like in the movie

  • Do not want! That does not look cool. It looks awkward and terrible.

  • офигеть )))

  • WOW!!! They have this now!!!!! Think about what they will have two years. thank goodness im young cuz ill be able to see the technologie they have decades from know. I cant wait !!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, I don't see this as being functionally too superior to mouse and keyboard with good knowledge of keyboard shortcuts and mouse gestures. It's more the OS that's probably impressive than the interface. As far as which interface would get things done faster, it seems to me that it may just come down to personal preference. As far as I can tell G-speak just seems to be all glitzy packaging and intuitive basic functions, the same sort of appeal that sells Apple products.

  • the part at 2:07 creeps me out already. I knew it was possible but...to be THIS easy....we should be seeing a whole lot more fake news videos in the future and the worst part is we will never realize it's fake!

  • I can see how projected keyboards and holographic model manipulation works now.

  • too bad its just a projector on a screen, it should all be on a film based glass to make it feel really real like the movie

  • Damn this thing is great... Ignorant people don't appreciate this kind of technology... It just this technology is intended by the US Army after 5 to 10 years... This Thing will be out in the market... They are just buying for there left over...This thing is real... If don't believe it exist then shut up...

  • well for your imformation (gardenknome) it can be done as i am working with similar technology, its been going for years but as they ignorence is bliss. for starters i dont even use mouse or keyboard to commnicate with mt servers or my linked tv. AND IM NOT FAT AND YOU SHOULD NOT BE SO IGNORANT OR RUDE ON HERE.....GROW UP....IF YOU DONT BELIVE THEN WHY SPEND YOUR TIME TYPING YOU DONT THINK ITS REAL...........some people eay.

  • Full-room interactive screens. Can anybody say Fahrenheit 451? hmm...

  • that geeker dun look as good as cruise

  • its funny in lke thirty years we could get this at target for 19.99

  • yeah, except beautiful thing, anyone can tell music?

  • It's a song called Lamp Mien by the group Deaf Center. Beautiful music.

  • I want this

  • What's going on here? The Minority Report thing?

  • some science eh!

  • 2:31

    Defcon?

  • lol, flights

  • I remember the press announcements about this OS. The price tag was over $100K so only a corporate board could afford one. Nevertheless, with parallel revolutions in research on computer brain implants and bandwidth, it was only a matter of time for conventional HCI to catch up. HCI (human-computer interfaces) is one of my research interests. No doubt it beats Vista lol.

  • Excellent music too -anyone recogonise this???

  • Just wait 'till CNN gets their hands on this.

  • I always thaught G speak was street talk, lol.

  • ditch the projector screens, then i'll be impressed

  • @JakBoy370 AHAHAHAHA ROFLOLMAO

    You're comment made my day!

  • lol i wont copy/paste but its funny

  • @ LUELLA9

    LOL xD

I won't copy and paste nether...

    This is off topic.

  • XD That's great. I might copy/paste it...

  • they would ache less than using a picaxe, anyway..

and a little exercise for computer working people wouldn't be bad , don't you think? :)

  • we spend

like... 10 hours daily... or more...

    in horribles positions...

this is a fucken good break time

  • @juweez Lazy fat fuck. Honestly, I wish the FCC would require electronics to give you a workout. It would solve the problem of everyone being so fucking fat in this country.

  • no one would wanna use it all day cos your arm would ache :/

  • @ma301jh LMAO well let those fat fucks sit there and be fat while I'm gonna have fun with my kick ass new computer.

  • You can do it yourself with just a projector webcam and free software online.

    It's been available for years.

A company just used a couple extra projectors and made a fancy video of it.

  • Well that's how economy works. Had you been the first to make a fancy video, you'd get the asspats now. But you didn't, so

  • @p3st1337 Yeah because I'm sure there was no research and development involved. I swear, sometimes I wonder why I even bother posting comments on youtube. People are so ignorant and you all just love to post everything that comes into your tiny heads.

  • The concept has always been there, but it's never really been properly executed. Someone has yet to perfect the system.

  • @pfcthiel Lol, uh, no. Your wrong. Do some research. It's an operating system. It is not a software program.

  • Nice tech man !

  • the tech is amazing....but what the hell was he doing?

  • Incredibly powerful advances shown here.

    Bring it on.

  • So what the hell is it for?

  • .......if u r smart enough then u will know what's for...

  • just amazing ...

  • imagine playing F.E.A.R on that kind of console...

  • f.ea.r 2 i would go spastic in a 3d realistic environment like that... imagine the whole playing field being completely interactive and in 13.3 audio... so much finite detail you feel like your really inside the game world.

  • WOW!

  • This is 1337!!

  • so it's pretty and sci-fi. but is it functional and cost effective? no lol

  • Nor were laptops functional and cost effective when they came out in the early eighties (size of suitcases!). Now they are everywhere...

  • within 4 years they are going to direct air traffic with machines like this.

  • must be fun playing games on this:D

  • reminds me of a wii made by microsoft ...though it isnt

  • seems so cumbersome

  • Could you imagine playing video games with that thing?

  • lol that be sweet

  • Seems expensive... would be interesting to see this being rolled out for the masses.

  • it seems cool now, but really its just impractical.

  • Super Nice!!!...I want one!

  • Even if the OS is cheap, That looks like a pretty expensive rig, some people dont even have rooms that big

  • 2 words: FXCKING COOL !!!

  • this wont be in our houses for another 40 years...

  • 'o'

    I'm scared

  • Every computer artist's dream come true.

Now it just needs to be made affordable.

  • Stunning, spine-tingling technology. I never thought science fiction could become science fact.

  • i love that last statement :-)

  • @eldisturbio

    It happens every day. :)

  • I need the song and artist! Someone find out, please!

  • Lamp Mien by Deaf Center

  • The song is "Lamp Mien" by Deaf Center.

  • Man this is sick. I wonder what an OS like this can be used for. What kind of customers would be interested in buying this OS?

  • e.g.:

    For defence: commanders and generals

For in business industries: managers and chefs

But I don't think this OS will be a benefit for consumers in general, you need a cluster of PCs to run this os, thats what I read, but with the coming of quantum technologies (nano, etc.) this can be reality soon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, maybe some people find this usefull for at home?

  • it would be the ultimate porn surfer technology

  • lmao!!hahah

  • it doesnt like it requires anything other than an everyday pc..i dont c it would..heres a snippet from a timesonline article..

"Far from requiring a super-computer or even a particularly expensive hard-drive, G-Speak runs on personal computers that exist today. The company aim to sell the technology for not much more than the cost of a high-quality mouse, £20-£40. Oblong hopes that it will be ready for the wider public in about two years."

    :)

  • that's odd, I've read something else, but those are all speculations.

I keep all posibilities open, but if your story is true, I can't wait to get started when this os is released! :)

  • im the same ..i never really treat anything as 'law' spesh on the net hehe.. would be nice to get messing around with the os tho eh :)

  • serloinz are you serious? something like that for only £20-£40? that price range seems like bs but if it is true that's pretty crazy. can't wait to get my hands on one of these.

  • i know what u mean but i was only quoting an article ..here.. if utube lets me post it hehe ;p

obv u need to take the spaces out ;p

    technology . timesonline . co . uk / tol / news / tech_and_web / personal_tech /article5218999 . ece

  • @casio1987vd

yea for flippin through massive porn archives xD

  • @casio1987vd heck yeah you get all the ladies wit that thing

  • I am looking foward to the day when we can free ourselves from the mouse and keyboard.

Also, what is the name of the song and artist used in the clip?

  • I don't know this song, its integrated into the clip coming from Oblong Industries.

I think those guys in the clip are John Underkoffler and Kevin T. Parent, relating to other sources, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • wow AMAZING

  • would be interesting to know how much this whole system costs. its great!

  • Wooow! But I wonder how useful this would be for the average person sending an email, etc.

  • for an average person, I don't think most office applications cant be used profitable for in a company, but I know this os was subsidied by the American department of Defence, they want to integrate this system within 10 years in the US Army, for commanders, this os is a beautifull and helpfull os.
