@bfurnace He was convinced I "wasn't worth my boots" and that I had no idea how to move dirt (and quickly). Obviously I am not a good operator and do nothing but abuse equipment and lose production/money!!! So this video was made just for him ;)
Dude are you kidding me! 2 buckets and then see ya later have a nice day....lol. thats crazy. you really need more trucks when you can move a pile like that. Great videos btw, nothing like having breakfast and watching shovel vids....keep up the great work.
Those are pretty optimal conditions. Moist loam so you can just heap it to the sky, and soft digging to just ram the bucket through then rip it straight up. Usually it's 3 scoops if you can get good heapers.
I see. CAT, is it because of its reliability and power? I saw lots of CAT excavators ripping out rocks and concrete foundations with no probs while i see others struggling.
They are a very well set up machine. The 850 had a little more cab room behind the seat, but honestly there's no advantage to that. It's not like you take a hockey bag to work.
If you put that 850 and my 385 Powerstripe side by side I would bury the 850, hands down. More swing power too so you can work on steeper angles when you "have to get it done".
What bout Liebherr, or Komatsu excavators. I herd that Liebherr makes a wicked ex. I know thier LTM series cranes are the best mobile cranes avalible today.
@vantagetes I haven't seen your response until now. It is no longer necessary. I've seen several really good pictures on the web. But thanks for the offer! Have a great week! =)
well he dont no shit if he saying things like that, the twat, u one of the best operators on youtube and that aint no lie, smooth, controlled and aware (u probably werent but dont listen to faggots like that)
Yeah couldn't ask for better dirt to bulk with. A little bit wet so it sticks together a little rather then just spilling off the sides of your bucket (that and it's a 7.75 yard bucket).
We have about 30-40 minutes of dark, when it gets light it comes pretty quick.
Yeah... Dirt that heaps nicely is always a plus. I think our b model 385 had the same bucket as yours, with the sidecutteres on it, we were able to rate it for 8yds. Were those Komatsu Artic trucks? Pretty small pile for ya though isn't it? LOL
We added a Cat 740, 2 more 769s, and 2 Komatsu 605 (70 ton).
The pile was just around perfect, could be a couple feet higher but with that 2.9m stick you can't be too high or you can't reach the sides of your piles =(
The hoes usually stay in the wet stuff, if it was dry it would be scraper dirt. Since it's wet sometimes you can't get a dozer in there to push the loam into piles for you so we'll use a 330/345 to go ahead and strip it into berms. We have a 385C L, 385C LME (mine), 850D and 375B on site but no 330 so I got volunteered. It's not a fun day until you have mud up to the handrails! Hump yourself in then dig yourself out and repeat =D I'll send those pics right now Popcorn.
Popcorn, eh? You've been talking to Pip too much, lol. Interesting concept. I guess it's easier to do that then to just push it into berms with a couple big dozers
all those trucks and you still have your boots.. that's a good thing .. and nice operating

Nice video :) Among Deeres, Volvos and Cats, which machine is your favourite? Just curious :D

I love CAT unless we are talking about articulating rock trucks, and then Komatsu is king.

Nice video as always... how long till the sun comes up this time of year up there?
Must be some really heaped buckets, 2 per truck? Not bad.

2x Cat 769, 2x Komatsu 400M and 1x Deere 400D.

vantagetes 3 years ago
Ah, I see... with it being so dark it made it seem like the pile was not very large.
So with 5 more trucks, do you have enough now? LOL
JimBruce42 3 years ago
Sadly no. And then they took them all! I was down to two 769s, then I got the 740, then I went stacking...
vantagetes 3 years ago
stacking? and I'd be interested in those photos too. PM or email... ttyl man

Yeah the D10 tried a couple times to stack it first but he kept on getting stuck so we used the 385.

Your 385 is really nice too!
