  • is thats a AM fleet car and an Acella with red paint at the end?????

  • @hummingbird19150

NO, that engine at the end is a Bombardier "JetTrain". It's very rare, has a gas turbine engine.

  • It looks like someone got inspired by Photoshop.

  • Thumbs up if you hear somebody whacking in the background!

  • nice engine, it must give me a little of the Acela.

  • Woah, omg! I swear this is so sexy, the way the train moves backwards and forward is orgasmic! Nice hobby nerd.

  • well ..train..yes! but where's the jet? seems a bit slow.

  • people, i just want to make one thing clear. the trailer red engine is not acela. it is called jettrain which is made by the same company that made acela. they have almost identical shape. but this red one is equipped with a gas turbine engine. JetTrain was orginally designed to run high speed rail service in the unelectrified area outside of the Northeastern Corridor on which acela currently operate. acela draw power from overhead wire whereas JetTrain make its own power using the gas turbine .

  • Very lame video.

  • @TheMrBlinx why you say that?

  • @TheDylanJoyce Just a train goin' by. Nothing interesting.

  • The video is VERY interesting and rare (because of the locomotive)...

  • OK people get this straight. The back engine is *RED*. The Acela is *BLUE*.

  • @DeltaPhi79 it looked like a similar loco with a different paint scheme

  • yeah exactly if u actually used ur eyes u would clearly see that it wasnt producing any smoke retard

  • If it were to be Acela there would be visible cantilevers...which there isn't...like HunterBHolmes says it's just the shell of an Acela.

  • looks different than acela

  • bombardier jet train? no no no no thats an acela AH-CELL-UH

  • @yehboyro510 Acelas are electric, they dont produce smoke smartass

  • is that a amfleet next to the jet loco

  • what do you mean by jet train?

  • @JoaoMario24 a jet train has a turbine engine system just like the Turbo Props on a commercial plane it gives power and it travels fast, the CN turbo train was operated like that and so did the Early TGV it used fuel before converted into electric.

  • @JoaoMario24 It was an experimental train that Bombardier built using the exterior designs of the Acela as it was only for proof of concept, the locomotive was powered by a jet turbine engine, for lines that wished to have high speed without electrification.

  • F-40ph!!! ^o^

  • The JetTrain should be able t work on future high speed rail lines of America.

  • @Sniper12890 like the north east corridor? they already have it there. its called the acela express

  • @bartybum the nec should lose crossings and the prr catenary should be redone.

  • It's really a jet!

  • The "American Dream' is now over (Cars and Planes) as it just as expensive as train now, Rising Gas and insurance prices for Cars and Rising Gas and Anti-terrorism tax measures for planes. (You can't drive a bullet train into a skyscraper) Bullet train are the way to go!!

  • I agree, because High Speed Rail are the most safest and reliable transportation than anything elts, in Japan they havn't had any Fatality since they got their first high speed train in 1966

  • @SPS148669 It wasn't really the "American Dream" just the result of some very powerful lobbys for the road and air industry. That are still at work! Most private trains died because the Highway Lobby was finally powerful enough to get the governent to put the mail on their trucks. Which made the passenger train lose money.

  • @SPS148669 Now with Amtrak running many sold out trains year around in a recession. The airline and road lobby are in full gear to keep things like the 3 C corridor from happening in Ohio. How is it done? Kick backs, pay offs, PAC money, back room deals.

  • acela???

  • its the same frame and stuff, except its not electrical

  • How do they get an acela frame.isnt it custom

  • bombardier made the acela and jetTrain, so they own the rights for the design of the acela, so they can easily use it on the JetTrain

  • @malik1234123 you dont know what the acela is? well the acela is a highspeed train owned by amtrak that runs at speeds up to 150mph between boston, ma and washington dc , the train is faster , more powerful , cleaner and fuel efficent then this jet train , another thing is the train is in a blue , shiny paint diffrent, but the whole body is the same , look at the video response below , i have a video of the amtrak acela going 150 mph , anyone who doesnt know what the acela is look at the vid .

  • @malik1234123

    JetTrain Powercar

  • i thought turbo trains proved inefficient 30 years ago?

  • Yeah, but that won't stop shortsighted politicians/rail officials from trying to do high speed rail without major track or electrical upgrades.

  • The turbos were some of the most reliable trains ever run with a 97% reliability. And they used them for 25 years too.

  • It looks very similar to the Acela engines. Those were made by Bombardier right?

  • Yep. This one's pretty much the same as the Acela engines, except it runs on a diesel engine.

  • and its a conventinal train not an all wheel drive on every coach cars.

  • that jet train might be going or coming from testing. the last car before the jet train was a cabcar

  • is this train made for amtrak or is it for Via Rail because i notice its red like the canadian color but yet it sports a United States Flag on the nose of the train????

  • this was/is a good idea for a passenger locomotive but the cost was/is overly expensive. they should test the engine "prime mover" in some other railroad locomotive first to prove its reliability, as jet turbines in trains in the past have all proven unreliable.

  • Sweet!

  • Sweet!

  • no it was just hitching a ride on the back end of the via train.

  • lol is via rail tryna b like amtrak by making a look a like acela but a diesel version lol?????

  • I find it hard to believe that the US can't afford proper high-speed rail. Acela is a great transition project, but the Americans really need to go see Europe.

Or they could just ask Bombardier, they're delivering most of our rolling stock anyway...

  • It's not so much that we can't "afford" it. There's just not much incentive since there is already an extensive air and road network.

  • that is true....but.............if you look at the EXTREMELY large number that represents the USA's debt....i dont think we can afford it either...

  • Funny, seeing that the Acela was manufactured in Quebec by BOMBARDIER. A diesel that uses a jet engine rather than your average diesel motor. It's the first diesel to reach 150MPH just like the Acela. Still, both locomotives are great ones.

  • Cool. Are they ever gonna use that engine in regular service?

  • i didnt know we got the jet train engine type thingy?!?!

  • cool where is that video taken in winnipeg

  • Thanks for the look! I wonder when we'll see high speed rail in Canada?

  • As soon as americans get it(never).

  • There is nothing wrong with us its just that or stupid government wont fund high speed rail.

  • Thats my point.Every high speed rail bill is killed on capital hill.(no pun intended.)

  • HA! You mock us, yet VIA still runs its heritage coaches?

    Ha ha ha... haha... ha...

Lucky sons of a bitches :(

  • Excuse me, but have you NOT heard of the acela?

  • Yes but in my mind its slow average speed means I exclude it from my "train" of thought.

  • Well, yeah, it is kinda slow for something you would call a high speed train. I mean, Why just 125mph when it's capable of 160mph?

  • Two main reasons:1 ageing infustructure.2 If you look at the NEC it bends and cruves, you cant go 200 Kh/p in that.

  • yah i think they are planning to redo the Toronto-montreal corridor to run high speed trains like the "Jet Train".

  • that and the tracks in the NEC aren't even rated that high let alone the curves

  • @tacosandtrains actually yes you can , the acela can reach speeds of 165 mph on the nec even with curves because of its tilt , the problem is the NEC s one of the worldest buiest train corridors and trust me your not gona wanna have a 165mph train in a freight and commuter line its risky another reason why it doesnt go faster is because the necs track and cantaery are from the 1930's so they need to fix that first then see what can happen from their

  • Excuse me, but have you NOT heard of the acela?

  • @LNERMallard

That is a Bombardier JetTrain's power-car. It's NOT an Acela!

  • Same model as the Acela Express engine.

  • nice vid btw

  • without the electric
