This is when they came out to say they were God, touched by God, or received information from God. That is the whole confusion, y we think Jesus is God, y Mohammed said he was God, y Moses saw God.
So, Oprah is talking about a totally different God. She is not talking about the personal God of religion - some supernatural being with special powers. She's talking about a recognition of self - the self beyond your physical form. There's something thats much deeper than your simple appearance, something much bigger but more subtle. You don't need a religion to tell you about their God. It doesn't need Jesus. Just meditate on the self. Inquire who you are.
However, I want to step up for Oprah. I don't know where that quote came from, but I think what Oprah is talking about is the new spirituality. The new spirituality is about seeing God within yourself. All the mystics talk about discovering the divine within yourself. Jesus and Krisha are symbols for enlightenment - knowing yourself. And all mystics agree, the deepest core of what you are, beyond your concept of your self, is a kind of God essence. That is what she is talking about.
Pfunk, this about it like this. If everything that IS, needs a creator, and God exists, doesn't God need a creator? What created the creator? What evidence is there that there is only one God? Why not hundreds, or millions of Gods and creators? Why is is the creator the God of the Abraham? Monotheists cannot answer why there shouldn't be many Gods. If they reject all other Gods, because its ridiculous, why not go one step further and reject the last one?

If aliens do exist and its a good likely hood they do they need a way to explain that see god is so great he put other beings out there that are just as intelligent as humans if not more intelligent.
