I've mostly been working on smaller models at the moment. Adding things like wings and little patterns onto leg armor parts, it also works effectively to individualize squads, for example a black wing on the right lower leg for a 4th assault squad or something

the same thing happend with my dire avengers and thats why i'm starting a space marine army . i don't want an army with great , good and just nice models i think it is better to have an army in whitch all models will be great painted

hey dude with your first rhino you hand painted, with the giant black blood drop with the wings? would right hemisphere drawing help when painting that onto the rhino?

Interesting question, and that is just how you do it. What he means is that instead of trying to draw angel wings, think of the image as just simple shapes. The brain gets confused if you try to draw 'angel wings' but if I broke the symbol up into three shapes 'left wing', 'blood drop' and 'right wing' and simply gave them to you one at a time, not telling you what they are, and simply tell you to draw the 'shape' you would have a much easier time. Heh, I dont know if I explained well...

yeah thats what i was wandering, everytime when im in my art class my teacher tells me i have to do a couple of right hemisphere drawings because it enhances the way you draw.

Right, dont think of it as a blood drop, think of it as a long triangle with a rounded bottom.

Start with the light colored foundation grey.. astronomican? You could get the image someplace online, and use a photo editor program to print it out the size you want, then trace it.

try it on a non painted piece of plastic because it will feel more realistic than if you did it on paper. dont try it on the tank before you get it pretty decent

great work jawaballs, thanks for all the inspiration, keep up the great work!!! and when you do something as detailed as the death company rhino do you outline in pencil or do you just go right in with the paint?

I did sketch it once on paper before doing it on the tank. When i did it for real, I put a few pencil marks to act as guides for my brush, but I did most of the drawing with my brush. I do the outline of the entire shapes, like the whole wing, then paint the whole thing black, then I layer colors up until I get finished, the skull went Black, Bestial Brown, Snakebite Leather, Bleached bone, then white for example. I will say that I didnt mix or thin down my paints. Straight from the pot!
