@greenvikings: What's happening with your photos is that not enough light is getting to your sensor. What you can do is either drop your shutter speed, lower your f/number, or raise your ISO... Or a combination of all three..............
Hey Jared, I just got my Canon 600D and im really excited about it. I started shooting photos in all different modes and everything was ok. Until i turned to Manual mode. Whenever i take a photo in manual mode it comes out completely black! HELP PLEASE Thanks
if i want to shoot at 1/2000s in bright daylight, do i have to set the iso up? because in daylight i am pretty shure it will overexpose at 3200 or 6400 wont it?
I do agree that lenses that are f/2.8 are better overall, it's just too expensive as always. lenses with like f/4.5-f/5.6 does require more ISO in order to bring more light in to compensate for that. But also your camera body can depend on this situation too. If you have a low-light god like the D700 or the D3S DSLR's you can live with those f/4.5-5/6, but the camera body alone will cost a lot. So in the end it is better to get faster lenses, and a cheap body.
How true, lenses that are F2,8 or better.. keep the ISO down. Making you allot more happy with the actual results, After all high iso, much noise.. lower possible printouts.. flat images. That is why I feel that those superzooms with at top F6,3...those hurt.
Did you see my thread I created in the beginners section on your forum? I have the same user name on there as I do on here. I was wondering how you would use a faster shutter speed while keeping the subject bright enough. Raising the ISO to account for the increased shutter speed answered my question thanks!
Jared is right..the 2.8 lenses are great. I bought cheap equipment at the beginning and regret it. Now Im selling and taking a loss when I should have just bought better gear to begin with. You live and you learn!
i hate digital noise, but i love film grain

Or the lens cap could still be on.

This video really helped me out!
Even though I'm using a limited bridge camera (L110) I want to improve my motion photography. I will hopefully get the D3100 soon!

Jared I have one question... In my D3000 how can i make to put my iso on 600 or 640 like the camera does when the iso is in auto?
luchonex 1 year ago
@luchonex This camera to the best of my knowledge does not allow us to do 1/3 stop increments!!! Just 200-400-800-1600-3200
