I don't know why people show low settings on many to all comparisons. The true marval and difference was that the way it does things allows for max settings.

Graphically, it's only supposed to take it where the programmers allowed in settings. The shader model it uses is where you should see subtle differences with bloom, HDR or that type of thing with normal mapping, but they show something more like dx7-8 for dx9.

Few are fine, they show little difference.

Then you would be sorely mistaken and any gaming PC built now pretty much HAS to run vista 64bit for the ram. If you run XP for a gaming rig then you sir, don't deserve that PC in the first place. Not too mention Vista with its numerous patches now for the most part keeps up to and in some cases out runs XP. Just thought you should know that.

uhh theres also a 64-bit for Windows XP Pro. its been out for a while now. lol i made my vista 64 to xp 64. has 8gm ram and 1gb video card and 8 cores. OCTO FTW!

the only problem with XP 64bit is that its buggy as hell, for the most part unstable when it comes to over clocking, and the drivers from ATI, NVidia and Intel are complete SHIT. Ill take Win95 for gaming before I ever go back to XP 64bit.

Ah, but XP still doesn't have Multi-core support. So technically those 8 cores you have are put to waste when you use XP, 64 bit or not. Also, the max RAM XP can have on 64 Bit is only 4 Gigs. So, if you think that XP is better for gaming, it is for single core computers with 4 gigs and under in RAM. Other than that, stay with Vista or Windows 7.

u really need to do some research. There are dell XPS laptops with WindowsXP that are using Intel Core2 Duo. so XP can handle more than one core.

I never said it wouldn't be able to use it. I said, it wouldn't use all of the cores IN GAMES. And yes, I have W7 and XP x64 both in a dual boot. I've used both on my AMD Phenom X4 and it seems that XP does NOT have a multi-core option when playing in any games that I have played. Heck, I get better frame rates in games when I'm using W7 because of the fact that XP isn't using all of the cores.

People initially have driver issues, just like every OS has had driver issues when it was released. Also a newer OS required high system specs. People couldn't wrap their tiny pea brains around this.

Vista is fine and has all the drivers I need. Games work great, the HD management is good. You certainly don't *NEED* to upgrade from XP, but if you have the opportunity to there is no reason not to other than being an idiot.

very few games do DX10 a justice... probably because most of these games are mindless shooters with no attention to detail. crysis looked better in some lvls because of how the physics and graphics effect and display the environment. especially the jungles. CoD4 looked good on both, but very little difference aside from bloom. i dont think any games take enough advantage of its potential yet. so far i prefer gaming on my ps3.. not that much difference between how it looks compared to high PC

The facts are DX10 lets you have more crap on the screen without slowdown. The facts are Vista sucks, but has DX10. The facts are now there is a version of XP hacked to work with DX10. So Vista is an unneeded super theme with online security which you can add for free on XP and take under 100MB.

Dx10 has darker, more realistic shadows. It also has slightly better particle effects and blurring. Its not a huge difference though. Its not a extremely good game anyway, nothing like Crysis or Call of Duty 4.

Qual a configuração do PC que você usou para comparar? No meio do jogo apareceu o aviso que a configuração estava pesada demais para jogar. Aqui eu jogo com DX10 e eu achei bem melhor. Nessa telinha do youtube não dá pra ver a diferença
