I have two SG-3's that I love. So many young typists don't understand the differencee between an office manual and little portables. When light weight and small footprint aren't a great issue the designers had freedom to improve the machines. Beautiful machine you've got there!
@meedily I paid 200 with 50 dollars shipping. I got it refurbished from Tom at Cambridge Typewriter in Boston and had it shipped to Houston. He does a great job with packing which is something that you have to watch out for (Especially with Ebay). It was something that I didn't mind paying a little extra on because unlike computers, you never need to upgrade. The SG is an amazing machine!
Hey man, could you tell me wher you found the ribbons? I'm looking forward to buy a typewriter and I wouldn't want to buy it and not being able to use it!!
@Doud92 You can ribbons a lot of places. But you don't know how good they will be. Once you know what kind you need, look up Cambridge Typewriter and get a ribbon from Tom. He is who I go to for all of my ribbons because they are so well soaked with ink. A nice ribbon will give you a good dark impression which is what you will want. Good luck with your search!!
@Bikeman1010 Thank you pal, the problem is I live in France and I doubt Tom will send me ribbons from Boston and if so it will cost me a lot of money. Anyway I found some universal ribbons on ebay. Do you know how long will a ribbon last, how many pages?
