  • nice job

  • Some comments: First, thanks for the video and spreading the word on traditional shaving. But you shouyld make a proper lather on your face; it makes the shave so much easier. Load the brush on the soap for 5 to 15 seconds (since your soap is soft), then work it on your face in a circular motion until a foam forms. Then paint it on for even coverage. Second, most Merkur razors are chrome-plated "zemak" pot metal. Some handles are steel but all the razor heads are plated zinc.

  • @caomhan84 Thank you very much for your comment. I was able to improve my lather from my first shaving experience using a safety razor (I made 2 simultaneous videos with the first experience and I wanted the experience to be genuine, so I was as objective as possible). Thanks to comments like yours, my lather is now much better. Also, thanks for the insights on the safety razor itself; it's very much appreciated.

  • what camera did you use please?

  • @simezra It's a Sony HVR-Z5U HD camera. If you want more information, @kirstendirksen would be the one to ask. Thanks for watching.

  • Thanks, man. I was on the verge of buying a replacement cartridge. I'm glad I waited. Time to buy a stainless steel safety razor.

  • @Suwai0303 Glad it helped. Strange they aren't more popular. Really difficult to spot these razors in brick and mortar stores.

  • People who shave with regular razor like Fusion spend a lot less than all the shave geeks who spend a fortune on shaving cream, aftershave and buying too much safety razor.

    I talk by experience.

  • @jonathanxx12 I guess you know the "Truth" you state. I prefer to test by myself, though, if you don't mind. It's called "modern scientific method" and consists in testing something to see if it works.

  • Great video, but you need to work on you lather :D there are loads of great videos on the subject here on youtube.

  • Think you should make more foam from soap;) Actually I have a scar on my cheek, when I was a kid used to get soo fascinated watching my father shave his beard. So I tried it:)

  • @modengoAGAIN lol. I noticed that too. I also uploaded previously a version of this same video in Spanish and some visitors advised me how to do it properly with the soap. 2 more shaves afterwards, I'm liking it more and more, now that I apply way more soap and do it properly (when it becomes white creamy soap, not before).
