Ok so 1st off your TWA is fierce! I love it and now that you will be babying your hair again it will grow back pretty fast. 2ne thank you for talking about PROPYLENE GLYCOL!!!! Personally I choose to use organic based products and just stay away from the other stuff. (too much to research lol) I am so paranoid of heat damage so I came up with a medium heat method that works for me. I use coconut oil to seal and how about I already have comments on my channel saying dont use oils smh. #no damage
@DejaVu807 some natural hair sites I looked at called PG damage a myth but, when I looked up chemical uses on scientific sites I found that breaking down protein was a common use. It doesn't seem like a coincidence to me. Thanks :)
@QueenGrace71 whew LOL. I didn't mean to give off so much drama. But after everything I'd done, I had the nerve to be shocked. Thanks for the words of comfort. Maybe I should have had a homegoing service for my hair. I wonder if it was saved?
OMG your hair looks gorgeous!!!! wow! you can start afresh, and your hair will flourish. Your son is gorgeous, and he is called Max like my son. ok tresemme messed up, like you said an oxymoron. i keep hearing that grapeseed oil works well as a heat protectant. you look beautiful, the cut really suits you and before you know it, it will be long again. lol @ your hubby. :) i know, for me flat ironing is always like playing russian roulette!!
@louloumatou :D thank you. Max was fighting bed time with all his little might. I want to cut a bit more off, especially in the back where it is really straight. Paula hated to cut as much as she did. Russian roulette is an apt comparison! I think the best heat protectant is no heat, like abstinence is the solution for teen pregnancy.
@diademy my little Max sometimes fights bed time like that too!! ooh remember that your hair at the back may just look straight now cos it is short! when i cut my hair that short the back is actually straight for a little while till it grows back out and starts to curl again, so it may not be heat damage, but just your hair texture. i do love the cut on you though, you look super gorgeous, honestly!!! when i see that i almost want to cut my hair.
@louloumatou you are so absolutely sweet :) you had the same prob, huh? maybe you are right about the back. I just cant stand it though and I have been chipping away at the back, bit by bit, all day long. Went to Oyin here in Baltimore today and purchased some conditioner. So, I'll be trying the curly girl thing.
@diademy you are so lucky to have oyin just round the corner!! i think your hair will like the conditioner method, try some cone free cheaper ones too :)
Fierce! It's too cute honey! I remember when I cut mine off in May for the same reason and I have no regrets. It took me a while to get used to it as I've always had long hair, but it grew on me.
@MyNaturalTransition thanks. I want the back all gone though. what did you use. this gel makes my head look scalpy. any creams you can suggest for hold.
@diademy my regimen is this - leave in (paul mitchell the conditioner), foam (paul mitchell foaming pomade), gel (pink eco styler), and oil or pomade. If gel is too heavy, you may want to just try a foam by itself like the paul mitchell foaming pomade or elasta qp styling foam. I've used both and they both work well to define curls and leave a soft hold. I go one extra step with the gel, because I like a firmer hold. I got some samples of miss jessies various holding creams and hated them.
@diademy I also just bought some kinky curly and hair rules kinky curly cream and I've got some oyin handmade on the way, lol. I'm excited to try them. I've been stuck on Paul Mitchell and eco styler since I bc'd, so now I'm having some fun and trying different things...I guess I'm finding and trying to tap into my inner pj, lol.
Does anybody else think she actually looks better with short hair?
