Yes, I believe that since 2000 the league has DRASTICALLY changed and the media/industry has taken over the sport that's more harm than anything. Kobe is just blown out of proportion by the media and his delusional fans. He's a talented player, but nowhere near as good as they say and probably the most overrated player in history. An all time NBA record of most game winning missed shots + the fact he decreased MAJORLY in his first 3 finals in comparison to the season speaks for themselves. He ALWAYS had incredible support by his team to rely on. + he plays in an NBA with practically no defense.

Yes, I believe that since 2000 the league has DRASTICALLY changed and the media/industry has taken over the sport that's more harm than anything. Players get blown out of proportion and many things don't make sense. It is not about efficiency anymore, but attractiveness for marketing. There are quite a few players more efficient than Kobe, even in his own team (Gasol) but they're not attractive marketing objects.
And seriously, that 81pt game was obviously rigged.

But when he didnt have his shot going he didnt even try to get others involved. 19-44 kept missing and missing and hold the nba record for most shots per game in a season. Also, whenever he would take a lot of shots an be criticised for it, he would shut down the next game and take less than 5 shots to prove to people that he was unselfish and that it was his teamates fault for their struggles.
