@taykyl001 Ruffian is buried at Belmont Park. They buried her with her head facing the finish line. I watched her break down in that stupid match race and it broke my heart to hear the next day that she was put down. It was many years before I watched any horse races. To this day, I still think that she was the most beautiful horse and one of the best to ever step on to a race track.

i dont think this is a sport is a money making machine where horses are the victims almost all horses get out this injuried for life or die in the years following specially phillys, seeing a horse in shock after breaking down in the most painful experience

These horses all brought so much joy and wonder from their special gifts. Secretariate was also the greatest and touched me so deeply with his massive beauty and stamina, which we all now know was due to a unique genetic trait. These horses are magnificent and bring us the wonder and joy of life in all it's splendor. Always in my heart. :)

Seabiscuit couldnt have had all of his wins from the drug. By all means he didn't have the proper racehorse build and the drug wouldnt have increased it that much.
And while I agree that he probably couldnt beat Secretariat or anyone you cant tell because his build shows he shouldnt have been able to beat anyone else either.
And the reason people like him and raise him up with those great horses is because he is something to look up to - a little horse with a funny run beating everyone.

Smith was actually busted for drugging a later horse. Biscuit does little at 2 and 3 years and suddenly starts winning under Smith - this just doesn't happen. It was observed that he looked bigger at the Anita in 1940, and he died much younger than most racers.
@rcschumann Tom Smith was caught spraying ephedrine (a stimulant that enhances performance) in the nostrils of several of the horses he trained, and he probably used it on Seabiscuit. All the horses with whom he worked had a high success rate. Smith was a cheat.
