The real scabs are the morons who bring their cars to Pep Boys for service/repairs. You know what you're going to get... the same crappy service that you get at Tuneup Masters, EZ Lube, Jiffy Lube, etc. If you care about your car, don't bring it to Pep Boys. I only go to Pep Boys for the retail items (oil, wax, plugs, etc.).
I usually work on my own car, but in college I didn't have the space or tools to work on it (I moved away from home for college). So I called around for a mechanic. Not only did pep boys give me the cheapest estimate, but when it took them 2 hours longer than they said I wasnt charged any more than what my estimate was, unlike most auto places. And the car was perfectly repaired, havent had a trouble since (they put in a new timing belt and water pump)
Pepboys is a shithole. Customer service sucks, place is always cluttered with crap, and OMG don't ever try to return something. My advice, go to Autozone. Nice people and will do just about anything to help you fix the problem. I hope Pepboys gets bought out and shredded.
I'm getting a better idea of why the automotive work at pepboyz is of such low quality. Some poor bastard was billed about $89.00 for your labor to prance around the shop with buckets on your feet.
