can you play this even with a guitar that has frets? Please respond because I want to buy a violin bow for my guitar too but mine has frets and I don't want to waste money on a bow and find out it will sound shitty on a guitar with frets. Please respond please! Thank you!!
@mrwasanisong i prefer to use the bow on a fretless guitar but if you search on youtube you may find there's a bunch of people doing it with a fretted guitar (Jimmy Page by example). it also depends on the shape of your guitar's body. there are some bodies that don't allow you to move the bow properly. you might need to make some bridge modifications as well. my advice would be, if you don't want to go fretless, get an e-bow. thanks
@julianholguin well, the cello tone is totally different for me. anyway the electric guitar has a a wider range, and the notes last longer when using the pizzicato technique.
@HectorHellion i dont have any vids sadly since im poor, and I mean with a bow in that position, although my fretless broke so i have to get a new one.
Kind of a nerdy comment but this song reminded me alot of the soundtrack from bioshock. Its just real free and spooky. But i love it much respect man!
@kratanuva725 exactly what i want to say..a chill yes..like " forbidden games" or "jeux interdits" i love this style ..like the music in horror movies
I love this scale you are using, it is basicly dorian with an added note a tritone away from the tonic. I like to call this scale dorian octonic, but there really isn't a standardized name for it.
It is actually the second mode of the beebop major scale.
This is great dude, it sounds like it cound be in a video game. I'm converting one of my old acoustics to a fretless, maybe I should get a cello bow too. =D
i'm able to play only 3 strings with the bow; the bridge is not totally flat, i've made some modifications. :) thanks for watching, try my other videos too pliz
i'm just using a strong reverb, when i'm not using the bow i use a flanger too, and i made some panning effects too.anyway i think the oriental feel i got it because it is a fretless guitar.thank you for listening.
you spelled cello wrong

I would have thought a guitar strings are too flat to bow one at a time. Maybe this is an unusual guitar though.

the key to playing guitar with a bow without just playing the lowest and highest string is chord combinations.

so you just buy a bow to do this? or are those special strings?
illKillYouRAWR 8 months ago
@illKillYouRAWR those are normal electric guitar strings. :)
HectorHellion 7 months ago
@illKillYouRAWR You need to buy bow resin as well, and it will make your strings a little sticky for a few days after playing.

@CubeableGame you can actually change the height of the bridges, so you can make all of them curve like you would find on a violin/bass.

You probably should get one those small "classical type" guitar that Paul Gilbert has. Of course a Les Paul won't get job down because it is to big.
