  • trying using the bow like jimmy page did on a live set:

    /watch?v=AIHabvURnpk

  • play sweet child o mine

  • Hah, wow.

I'm a cellist und have thought of doing this.

I thought it wouldn't sound so good, but now I wanna try. xD

  • I would have thought a guitar strings are too flat to bow one at a time. Maybe this is an unusual guitar though.

  • wow this sounds so huanting. interesting

  • wwhat's the effects you used on this? it's quite awesome dude.

  • Pain still burning..

  • how fucking awesome would it sound if I were high!

  • do you alter the bridge to raise the middle strings to a "bowable" position?

  • @howycwap yes

  • @howycwap yes

  • @howycwap yes

  • gorgeous....

  • can you play this even with a guitar that has frets? Please respond because I want to buy a violin bow for my guitar too but mine has frets and I don't want to waste money on a bow and find out it will sound shitty on a guitar with frets. Please respond please! Thank you!!

  • @mrwasanisong i prefer to use the bow on a fretless guitar but if you search on youtube you may find there's a bunch of people doing it with a fretted guitar (Jimmy Page by example). it also depends on the shape of your guitar's body. there are some bodies that don't allow you to move the bow properly. you might need to make some bridge modifications as well. my advice would be, if you don't want to go fretless, get an e-bow. thanks

  • so cool!

  • Do you use standard guitar strings for that? And is that a cello bow?

  • @Nevermorian yes, those are standard guitar strings, and that is a cello bow. a violin bow would work as well.

  • yea...imma go out and get an ebow

  • So... a cello basically?

  • @julianholguin well, the cello tone is totally different for me. anyway the electric guitar has a a wider range, and the notes last longer when using the pizzicato technique.

  • Do you use rosin on your bow for this?

  • @Rebekah7125 yes, a little, not as much as a violin or cello player does.

  • Jimmy Page's son.

  • You're the first person that i've seen play the guitar the same way i do! xD

  • @alkaviri cool! do you mean fretless, with a bow, or in that position?? or everything? do you have videos?

  • @HectorHellion i dont have any vids sadly since im poor, and I mean with a bow in that position, although my fretless broke so i have to get a new one.

  • Has anyone tried this using open minor or major tuning ? This way you could bar and use solo notes with chords ?

  • That sounds so good...........

  • One word. Beautiful.

  • omg!, O.O

  • Ottimo! Molto bello!

  • Ti voglio bene.

  • This is so awesome! What effects/pedals did you use?

  • Okay, that settles it. I'm going fretless.

  • @OneWhoHatesToSleep you can also buy a bottle neck.

  • Kind of a nerdy comment but this song reminded me alot of the soundtrack from bioshock. Its just real free and spooky. But i love it much respect man!

  • hellion has got to be the coolest last name ever next to norris ofcourse

  • Like

  • This kind of scares me, but in a good way :D

    Very eerie, but really amazing.

    You're a quite talented individual. (:

  • @XRachelxRuseX i guess that being eerie is a cool thing,... sometimes. thanks for watching. try my other videos too. :)

  • lol this music belongs in a horror movie XD , Fantastic job on the playing!!!

  • the key to playing guitar with a bow without just playing the lowest and highest string is chord combinations.

  • @L0055ER well, thanks for the advice. i'm still working on this guitar i made some bridge modifications to be able to play the string in the middle

  • @HectorHellion yeah? id love to watch it on youtube when your done (:

  • I first found this video a year ago, and just want to comment now to say;

    This still gives me chills.

This is one of the reasons I converted my guitar into a fretless.

You sir, deserve a medal for this video.

  • @kratanuva725 haha thanks a lot, then upload some videos with your fretless and let me know when you've done it.

  • @kratanuva725 exactly what i want to say..a chill yes..like " forbidden games" or "jeux interdits" i love this style ..like the music in horror movies

  • so you just buy a bow to do this? or are those special strings?

  • @illKillYouRAWR those are normal electric guitar strings. :)

  • @illKillYouRAWR You need to buy bow resin as well, and it will make your strings a little sticky for a few days after playing.

  • Wow, this is amazing! so haunting!

  • Can't stop watching this, so so good.

  • fantastic

  • This is good. Its very different! keep doing your thing

  • I dont want to sound like a n00b, but what scale do you use for this?

  • @Nitro487 Dorian #4, or at least for the beginning section.

  • @kratanuva725 thank you

  • Wow that's creepy sounding stuff

  • that sounds so great....

    this atmosphere...nice :)

  • You are such a creative and talented player. Keep doing what you are doing. I really enjoyed this one.

  • I love this scale you are using, it is basicly dorian with an added note a tritone away from the tonic. I like to call this scale dorian octonic, but there really isn't a standardized name for it.

It is actually the second mode of the beebop major scale.

This is great dude, it sounds like it cound be in a video game. I'm converting one of my old acoustics to a fretless, maybe I should get a cello bow too. =D

    marian mxkngrl

  • @marianiuxe Muchas gracias por ts lindas palabras, y que crees?? yo voy a ir a México en agosto y organizaré concietos en septiembre wawawa

  • How many strings can you play? Considering that the bridge is flat, it must incredibly hard! You are very good!

  • @CubeableGame

i'm able to play only 3 strings with the bow; the bridge is not totally flat, i've made some modifications. :) thanks for watching, try my other videos too pliz

  • @CubeableGame you can actually change the height of the bridges, so you can make all of them curve like you would find on a violin/bass.

  • Now this is fucking awesome. And only 1k views?Youtube sucks

  • @blaznit666

thank you.then tell your friends to watch this video, and watch my other videos please.have a nice day :)

  • GREAT JOB MAN:>

  • pretty cool. you should trying playing in the violin position.

  • @shadowknight132

Thanks. I've tried to but i can't play it in the violin position

  • @HectorHellion

You probably should get one those small "classical type" guitar that Paul Gilbert has. Of course a Les Paul won't get job down because it is to big.

  • @shadowknight132

ok i'll try some day.thanks for the advice

  • really awesome

  • Decadence

  • what effect or pedal are you using...some parts sound like a oriental guitar...5 stars

  • i'm just using a strong reverb, when i'm not using the bow i use a flanger too, and i made some panning effects too.anyway i think the oriental feel i got it because it is a fretless guitar.thank you for listening.

  • WOW..very nice...i love the sound...Check my acoustic version with guitar and bow...peace

  • me ha llegado al corazooon

  • Es increible escucharte Hellion.

  • Qué maravilloso es volver a escucharte!

  • hooooo!
