Hunter is probobly the most versatile class in L4D and even L4D2. They can walljump, curve, and ultimately take down a quarter of your health in one pounce.

Er, bonch, in the Xbox 360 version you can turn around without the joysticks, just click the right shoulder trigger for a quick 180. Easy, intuitive, effective. Computers are clunky with that sort of thing :)
Unless you are playing real time strategy (Age of [insert game here], or a game with 7+ weapons (tomb raider, Doom) stick with the Xbox.
As a hunter, crouch in front of a witch. When a survivor sees you, he shoots you AND the witch, making her startled. You die, but the survivor has the witch on his back!
@simoniem dont forget this is really effective with the smoker since it forces the survivors 2 deal with the witch and since in l4d1 the smoker had low damage power,in l4d2 the snag does 5 damage,and claw does 4.

New players often feel like this because it is "bad form" but actually, the more experienced you get the more you realise it is exactly what you should be doing. It frees the smoker to recharge quicker and get back to doing his main job, splitting and delaying the survivors. So it's not stealing, it is perfect teamwork.

not much you can do witha hunter when survivors are grouped together in this case it best to wait for boomers assist or a tank. one time i was spawning behind and some idiot said i was useless and suggested i try to do damage to them while they were grouped and the result in that i was killed quick and gained 2 points wake up idiots its not fucking worth it.
on 360 it is still 10 i play it every night with friends and we do the "Hit and Run" tactic we all jumped around a player clawing at him and he went down fast 10 damage

I got something to say, not to offend but you kinda made a mistake, on the second thing it should be "Banzai Run", because Kamikaze is a type of ship/ship maouver. I might be wrong but someone could correct me.

I would like to add that Dread Armadillo is very much a whiny noob. If survivor melee seems overpowered then you simply aren't very good at infected who probably just solo kamikazes every life. Also taking that smoker's kill was purely selfish, it served no purpose at all and in fact endangered the team's success since the smoker would have had the survivor pulled farther out of the way. Trying to justify it in a tutorial video is extremely misleading.
1. The Survivor Melee often kills in 6 hits. That's less than it takes to kill with bullets (most of the time.)
Then again, I'd rather it be overpowered than underpowered.
2. He had to steal the Smokers kill. The Survivors CAN shoot through the floor in the Apartments. If he didn't, the Survivors would've caught their mistake, killed the Smoker and the Survivor would've lived.
And the Smoker was right in front of him, how would that have been farther?
1. 6 hits takes forever compared to shooting. That comment about the bullets is ridiculous. One shotgun shell or hunting rifle bullet kills any special infected when placed well, and just 3 or 4 automatic bullets.
2. No he didn't. He could help the smoker by meleeing the victim while they're constricted. Pouncing resulted in a greater danger of being shot through the floor, it's easier to hit a hunter on someone through the ceiling there (not to mention friendly fire is off while pounced).
I could be mistaken since the scenario doesn't occur often. It seemed to coincide with the hunter swiping, but even though the survivors were somewhat far away, they could have shot through the floor (No Mercy 2, beginning by saferoom).

l4d on x-box. could have been cool. slashes no longer do 10 damage on PC. they do 6. also minimum pounce damage is increased so it makes more sense to pounce again then slash. you should 0 25 damage pounces and most of your tactics would fail agaisnt any team with a brain. o wait xbox. nvm~ lol
nice vid. My suggestion, and you kinda mentioned this already, is use the horde as a distraction and hit a survivor while they are in a corner... Or sometimes you can actually get behind OR on top of a stack of surviovor and claw them from above while you stand on top.
Another good strategy is what i call Tree Hugger. On forest levels when a survivor is fighting near a tree, use to hunter to run out swipe once or twice then retreat back into cover.Often the survivor won't realize you are there.
Now, that 30 damage goes down to 18 damage, and it would've been better to pounce to do about 20 damage at that point as well as having that player incapped.
And another thing, why did you need to take the smokers kill? Why do you need to do the damage as fast as possible when the kill isn't preventable and the hunter is FAR more useful outside for a potential 25 damage, while still getting the kill.
at that range I would have done about 6-9 damage on impact and the damage needed to be done as fast as possible because survivors can still shoot through the floor in that location, he needed to be incapped ASAP to ensure a death

Agreed, Xbox version tends to be a little easier due to the community not being as sharp as the PC version. I have both xbox and pc so I can honestly say that as most players would.
I can play FPS on consoles just fine. There's just some games that are better for Xbox and some for PC. This for example is better for PC while games like Halo are better on Xbox.

If a hunter swipes at a constricted human, the human is released and the smoker can't use the tongue again for a while, if i recall correctly.
A hunter did that to me the other day and ended up saving a survivor that couldn't be helped by the others.

That's not possible as far as I know, something else must have happened.
If he pounces on someone near someone constricted then the knockback sets them free I believe.

l4d on x-box. could have been cool. slashes no longer do 10 damage on PC. they do 6. also minimum pounce damage is increased so it makes more sense to pounce again then slash. you should 0 25 damage pounces and most of your tactics would fail agaisnt any team with a brain. o wait xbox. nvm~ lol

nice vid. My suggestion, and you kinda mentioned this already, is use the horde as a distraction and hit a survivor while they are in a corner... Or sometimes you can actually get behind OR on top of a stack of surviovor and claw them from above while you stand on top.
Another good strategy is what i call Tree Hugger. On forest levels when a survivor is fighting near a tree, use to hunter to run out swipe once or twice then retreat back into cover.Often the survivor won't realize you are there.

Now, that 30 damage goes down to 18 damage, and it would've been better to pounce to do about 20 damage at that point as well as having that player incapped.

And another thing, why did you need to take the smokers kill? Why do you need to do the damage as fast as possible when the kill isn't preventable and the hunter is FAR more useful outside for a potential 25 damage, while still getting the kill.

at that range I would have done about 6-9 damage on impact and the damage needed to be done as fast as possible because survivors can still shoot through the floor in that location, he needed to be incapped ASAP to ensure a death

hahaha exactly. to ensure death...that's the stupidest thing ive ever heard. the smoker pulls him away. again if those xbox idiots had brains they could have gone in the bathroom and shot you. if the smoker pulled him away it would have been even safer. and stealing from the smoker makes sense in almost every situation. hunter kills them so much faster...let the smoker go for someone else while you kill the person he pulled.

Agreed, Xbox version tends to be a little easier due to the community not being as sharp as the PC version. I have both xbox and pc so I can honestly say that as most players would.

I can play FPS on consoles just fine. There's just some games that are better for Xbox and some for PC. This for example is better for PC while games like Halo are better on Xbox.

Hunter scratch dmg is reduced to 6 dmg, per claw hit... Used to be 10 per hit. Sux imo :( better to be on fire and then pounce :D
