  • Having been a pianist while I was growing up (sadly, no more), I couldn't help but notice the subtle thud of the sustain pedal. For some reason that subtle sound just adds so much depth to an already beautiful piece.

  • Genial.

  • grow, little sunflower

  • 2 People are fat greedy robots.

  • I used to be on the glass room level and just keep it minimized so I could listen to this song over and over again.

  • Just like in music, games know a mainstream of dull games like CoD & the likes. Machinarium kicks both the game & music mainstream in the nuts.

Bless this game, & give us a sequel! To make both gaming & music scene a better place!

  • the section at 2:10 kinda reminds me of "Triage at Dawn" from Half -Life 2

  • Beautiful instrumental.

The section from 1:10 reminds me of the intro to American Beauty - another awesome piece of music.

  • ive been listening to this for more than a year and i sill havent got tired of this music so yeah that says it all how good this is.. bid fan of Tomas and Amanita Design

  • why 2 dislikes this track is so emotional. very nice :)

  • this song has made 39,000 times of joy possible

  • this song feels like a good dream, you just dont want it to end.

it becomes a sad song at 3:29 but oh well, ill try and download it.

  • This music produces orgasms.

  • such an amazing song

  • I wish I could find sheet music for this somewhere.

  • Masterpiece, songs and game...

  • In a world where there is no humans, hearing such beautiful musics make me think of Saya no Uta's OST (there are one or two tracks in the OST that would fit Machinarium I think)

Plus the fact that you hear this soundtrack in one of the only places of the whole game with vegetation, and Saya is often depicted with plants around her (or at least, in Fuminori's dellusions)

  • @Fierce0Deity0Link Wow, that's quite a perspectivation. But i agree!!

I Googled Saya no Uta, and found out it was a visual novel. So i downloaded it and read it in English... Probably some of the most fucked strange horror i have ever read/seen. Strange, really strange. I'm still not sure what to think now.

I liked it, and yes, some of Saya no Uta's soundtrack actually could fit in. I wouldn't say the other way around, that would be a shame, but i get your point..

Damn Saya no Uta was weird o.O

  • @ichbinein123

Wow, I made someone play it by posting a comment on youtube !? Achievement Unlocked I guess.

And yeah, when I played it for the first time, I spent one week without internet and figuratively crouched on my bed in foetal position, trying to understand pointless stuff like the "what was the real ending" or "how could all this have been avoided". What's important is the meaning behind the game.

Also the poor Saya never spent time with normal human people to learn how to interact.

  • This is one of the most sublime soundtracks I have ever heard. Am simply hypnotised by it.

  • I bought this game. I played this game, and didn't like it.

But the soundtrack is beyond any description possible.

It's the strongest connection to a piece of art I've ever experienced.

I can live, breath, feel and grow with this music.

  • If I hadn't already purchased the game, and listened obsessively to the soundtrack, this is the song that would make me do so. There is something so touching and melancholy about this, it makes you slow down to try to grasp the meaning that is hidden in the melody. Thank you for posting :~)

  • Reminds me of E.S.T. RIP Esbjörn

  • This soundtrack is hypnotizing. Dvorak is an intensely talented composor!

  • runs shivers down my spine when i am listening this song

  • It opens my soul

  • ava muito bom yes good good good good

  • i'm one of the special who got the soundtrack on limited edition vinyl signed by tomas dvorak :)

  • this is so incredibly beautiful!

As closing your eyes and see a sea of crystals!

  • my favorite track along with a close 2º "by the wall" - this glasshouse makes me cry... i stay put in the game just to listen to the music and watch the butterfly... i come to the glasshouse to relax and think back my walktrough and whereabouts! soooooo beautiful this game and music - i bought 2 licences for this game: one for windows version and other for my recent mac - thats how bad i wanted to play the game all over again! short but sweet game well spent!

  • I picture myself laying in a vast, open, grassy field on a sunny day, clear sky with a nice gentle, cool breeze and big white, puffy/fluffy clouds passing over. I'd just lie there, time has no importance. I would watch the clouds move and take different shapes. I would see it as "my home away from home."

Almost sounds like home to me.

  • @plzletmego87 Shivers up my spine, thought the same. Amanita Design is so amazing, Machinarium is such a good game and reminds me of the childhood. Just brilliant.

  • @locksh Yep, exactly. You really hit the nail on the head when you mentioned childhood. I really want to play this game. I was saying if the music is this good, the game itself must be amazing!

Nonetheless, it just nice to know that there is someone out there who feels where I am coming from =D

  • @plzletmego87 Amen :D

And I can tell you why I think it reminds us the childhood, at least at my case -

There are two games - Samorost and Samorost 2 (not quite sure about the name though) and I once remembered those games but couldn't remember the names. When I saw Machinarium on the app store (iPad 2) I decided to buy it because it was nostalgic as hell for some reason. I will never regret the confirmation of the buying, best game iv'e ever played. I hear the soundtracks and almost tear up.

  • @locksh I guess that makes two of us. That's some pretty deep stuff; what you wrote. I wish life itself could be like this music. I feel almost as if I am taken to a better place. A time and place where things are.....simpler. The nostaliga is perfect and I can't seem to help that you can also relate to such a place when listening to this music. I can tell from in your writing how you are to such a degree.

  • @plzletmego87 There is a strange type of nostalgia that appears in places you didn't meet before. Happened to me in this game. I played Samorost and Samorost 2 but I still find Machinarium extremely nostalgic or just very sad (dunno) related or not related to both of these games. I just feel like I am experiencing the feeling of another lonely person in another time in another place, too hard to describe. This peaceful nostalgy.

  • @locksh Thanks for your insight! It's very much appreciated :)

  • @plzletmego87 Thank you for having this pleasant conversation with me :D

  • @locksh It is a very rare thing to have two people who don't even know each other express their opinions now-a-days (especially on YouTube) without getting into some stupid argument. I have to thank you for that!

  • @plzletmego87 You are 100% right. I am just satisfied that I found someone who I can share feeling with. Magic of Machinarium, what can I say.

  • Beautiful and sad at the same time.

Somathing like butterflies on oil canisters

  • Also reminds me a little bit of Asche & Spencer.

  • This is so calming. :)

  • I love this track !

It feels like I'm in the sea, or in the sky, soaring around through the clouds/ the waves. And when the soundtrack reaches its climax, at 2:09, it feels like I'm falling throught the sky in a wonderful dream... Ah, love it.. *-*

  • Reminds me of Sigur Ros.

  • @jonjonjonmw3 yeah it does. what connection does Sigur Ros have with Mogwai, if there is any?

  • dude Tomas Dvorak is my idol this is probably the best song of the decade in my opinion

  • I got mine for free 5 mins ago. The most anxious download ever. You have to give the people credit for making this piece of art... I almost feel sorry for not buying the soundtrack. Almost. But the whole soundtrack is juust.......too awesome.. beautiful....

  • Esta es muy buena, masomenos desde la mitad empieza excelente

  • This music.. its soo beautiful. I really mean it. Its soo.. Original. Machinarium is one of the best games of all time. :.D

  • D; This song will put me to sleep... Ahh! Anyways this song is soo relaxing, i will listen to this everyday when I work. :p

  • i just got such a delightfully special feeling when i got to this part of the game.. it was perfect! machinarium is!

  • this one is soooo great!

  • 19.99 for this game? ppft... i have just enough! : )

  • Terrific game. The only disappointment for me was the length.

  • Wow! Awesome song!

  • este som da thomas dvorak é maravilhoso.

    nice !

  • i love this song:)and i love this game

  • the background tune that starts at 2:40 really reminds me of the music in the game Bladerunner.

    I love it.

  • This is more of a "downer" music than ambient music...Like bottom, but with even more sadness to it...

  • A shame to download this game!!!

  • This game really took me by surprise... it was such a shock to my system to see such a beautiful and almost completely flawless game that captured my imagination. And to hear all the music within that game was truly a blessing

  • when i played it, whenever the music reached the 'ding' sound at 2:53 I thought i received a point XD

    old sierra fanboyhood, i guess.

  • I wish the puzzles on this level were a lot harder because I just wanted to listen to this track over and over and over again. Once I opened that hatch, I let the track play a few more times before moving on.

  • I bought Machinarium through Amanita's holiday sale: Machinarium + Samorost + both soundtracks for $12,10. Fantastic deal, great value for money!

This one's my favorite from the soundtrack. What type/kind of music is it actually? Would like to find more of this kind of music; very relaxing when reading, etc...

  • the style of music is dvorak's own unique style. it is a combination of jazz and electronic music with wood based instruments.

  • I can help you out to find more of this kind of music, please accept my friend's invite so I can PM you!

  • "ambient", I guess

  • @pioerghaozprhgorueir

This is called ambient. If you're looking for music of this genre, try the ambient station on di.fm.

  • @pioerghaozprhgorueir - sounds like ambient.

  • @pioerghaozprhgorueir Try some Trentemøller, some of his songs has the same feeling as this song have.

  • @pioerghaozprhgorueir the genre is ambient / chillout. its a fantastic genre and Tomas Dvorak is one of the best composers ive heard after playing this game !

  • @pioerghaozprhgorueir You might find similar in Ambient music. But good luck finding something this special.

  • @pioerghaozprhgorueir Ambient (with some electronica and post- aesthetics) Do yourself a favor and search for Helios.

  • @pioerghaozprhgorueir

    Off-beat, ambient type music ;)

  • @pioerghaozprhgorueir The guy who did the soundtrack has a new album out. Search

    Floex / Zorya

  • @pioerghaozprhgorueir I don't think the music can be correctly bound to one or even two genres, but if you look up IDM music it might yield similar types of songs. The artist of the soundtrack is Floex or Zorya, if I remember correctly.

  • @pioerghaozprhgorueir As others said, this genre is usually called ambient. If you liked the straight musical parts of this, I would recommend checking out Caia, and some of Aphex Twin (though he also does more abrasive stuff). If you liked the less melodic noise-like parts, I would say check out Immaterial by Tomas Jirku.

  • Despite being quite hard, Machinarium was such a beautiful experience both visually and aurally that it reminded me of Grim Fandango.

Help the people who released it by buing it, you ll also receive the fantastic soundtrack as a bonus.

  • this soundtrack.. gives me goosebumps.. this track is so emotional...

  • Machinarium it´s a game purely artistic with the awesome drawings, the music and all the puzzles. Well, it´s my opinion.

Happy Holidays to all of you!

  • I call this song Teardrop :'(

  • It's just gorgeous, forgot to say. My best.

  • unbelievable.... sososososos beutyfule music thx Tomas Dvorak

  • unbelievable... great music

  • DIVINE.

  • BEST ! D;

  • I wanna cry hehe

  • cant D;

  • AMAZING !!!!!!

  • Parfait *____*

  • Tomas Dvorak should join Ninja Tune label.

  • This one is beautiful

  • Imho, this is one of the best tracks in the game.

    ( 1:10 ... wonderful )

  • Well,I only have some of the tracks...

...where you got those from ? :]

  • If you purchase the game from Amanita's website (there's a link in the description), you get the soundtrack for free.

Alternatively, if you've bought/plan to buy the game on Steam or somewhere else, they'll apparently have the soundtrack available for independent sale before too long.

  • it is already out, but what pisses me off is that it's on some flash distributor site, and you're forced to create an account with them before purchasing the soundtrack. I really don't like the idea of having to sign up just to buy one soundtrack. However, if you have the steam version of the game you can access the music from the "11" directory just change all the weird number extensions to .mp3

  • The downside however is that Dvorak changed the music a bit for the independent soundtrack.

By the way, I would actually contact Amanita Design and make sure they are okay with you posting this music up here... You didn't even ask did you?

  • google it to find beyond the 5 tracks distributed - a P2P site will get you those dozen tracks floating toward you! ...a TORRENT of tracks actually ;)

  • @soundzen :s It's only 3.99 pounds or 8 dollars Cdn to get the track off of the website Amanita is selling it off. Compared to most other soundtracks it's a steal. >< Plus the game was so good and so is the soundtrack, I'd say it's worth the money I'm paying for it. Just my opinion.
