This is an inarticulate representation of events.. Read Union Carbides report on the matter, it will make things more clear to you. The workman washing the pipes with a hose did not cause the indecent. It was sabotage, a valve regulator was removed and a water hose put in its place by a disgruntled employee , causing the water and MIC to mix.. Causing the disaster, The flair tower was not working, several backup systems were disabled .. this is what caused indecent.
@outlaWeasel The Bhopal FBI, and local authorities knew who the employee was but decided it would be more profitable to go after Union Carbide then to prosecute anyone technician from the factory. Union Carbide was not even let into the facility until a year later to do an investigation. There were three safety systems at the plant that did not work, namely the Cooling unit, The Flare tower, and prevention equipment to divert MIC to a back up tank. @VarunWasHere I read both reports, one from the Bhopal governments investigation team equivalent to the USA's FBI... and read the report by UNION Carbide. Not saying you have to make a choice as to what one to believe. However; perhaps you should read Union Carbides report and have all of the information from both sided in front of you before making a decision. Could they be bias , yes. But from the report it seemed scientific rather then displacing blame.
