Our Kingdom will celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee (60th anniversary) next year. First Battalion Coldstream Guards will provide the Escort to the Colour in 2012.

Queen Victoria is thus far the only monarch in the histories of Britain,Australia,Canada,New Zealand and other Commonwealth Realms to have celebrated a Diamond Jubilee.

A bill was passed in their Parliament which provides the restoration of their Monarchy

Welcome back Kingdom of Montenegro! Cheers to Crown Prince Nikola of the Petrovic-Njegos Montenegrian Royal Family

It's about time to right the wrongs of the past and let the Crown Prince restore the culture and identity of (former republic) Kingdom of Montenegro. =)

  • 360TH??!!! WoW! so this event has been annually celebrated since... 1651?

seems like the british's unitary parliamentary democracy-constitutional monarchy is one of the world's most stable forms of government...

  • @vroom2000 And you can kindly (no comma necessary) refrain from telling me where and when I may state my opinion. This is YouTube, moron; not the monarchists' club. And for the record, I never said I didn't like what I'm watching. I was responding to someone who characterized republicans as "Waaaahh, waaaah", by the way. But I suppose that's his constitutional right, to your way of thinking. "To each his own", indeed. Practice what you preach, sycophant.

  • "Waaahhhh waaaahhhh I wanna republic waahhhh!"

Who could see that and even consider a republic?

  • @Myles0Harcourt I've been wondering who can see this and not pray for a republic... Btw, I thought Prince Edward dropped out of the military years ago. What's with all the uniforms lately? Please explain to this republican...

  • @nauort23

Of course, there are some people who have little value of tradition, nor of their national heritage. I look at this and see a beautiful parade and military spectacle which has been happening for centuries, celebrating this country and its head of state. others look at it and see something whcih they will never have themselves, and must therefore be removed. If the second statement is not the case, may i ask exactly what makes you pray for a republic when you see this?

  • @Myles0Harcourt Because I currently reside in one, perhaps. No one's trying to take anyone's history or tradition away. Sure, ceremonial traditions are fine--but a spectacle this costly in this day and age is laughable. And save the "you're just jealous" bit for the anarchists, please. It's a tired retort that's been beat to death by the media that polishes the boot you root for on your neck.

So, what about Princess Edward's military drag? Are you going to address that one?

  • @nauort23 The cost is to the Exchequer, which gets money not only from the taxpayer, but also from the Crown Estate, which pays far more into the national coffers than the Monarchy costs altogether. May iI ask what the difference between this and a ceremonial tradition is? This is ceremonial, is going long enough to be called a tradition and in my books can therefore be called ceremonial tradition.

HRH Prince Edward is wearing "military drag" in his role as Royal Colonel of the London Regiment.

  • @nauort23 Prince Edward is Colonel-in-Chief (a ceremonial position) of the London Scottish Regiment. Traditionally, such positions are held by members of the Royal Family, as no serving soldier is ever accorded such a rank. Princess Anne is Colonel-in-Chief of a couple of regiments, to give but one example, and she has never served in HM Armed Services.

Having read all the other exchanges, I think comments about your remarks are well-taken.

  • @nauort23 This day is our National Day in the UK, when the Queen and the nation honour the soldiers and the national institutions that protect our freedoms. Having lived in the USA for 11 years myself, I know the USA does similarly on their own national holidays.

In the end, it's our country, and we'll do as please, thank you.

You may say what you wish, but since this is only YouTube is hardly seems the most appropriate forum for your derisive and intentionally provocative remarks.

  • 11:40 to 12:20 Makes me proud to be British!

  • i like the end... and when everyone scream just as kate and will went out the balcony.. not sure if it was for them. but it was wonderful.. =D

  • What is that Prince Edward all abou.Do we still pay him

  • THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE THIS PARADE POSSIBLE! IT IS A DELIGHT TO THOSE OF US WHO LOVE A WELL DONE PROGRAM! (I'M AMERICAN AND QUITE IMPRESSED.)

  • Excellent "Beeb" up close coverage of a WOMAN firing a gun. Aye.

  • God save the Queen and one day i hope the church of england will be on with the major catholic church and it will be me last wish and the worls will be most peaceful.

    Amen.

  • Absolutely beyond impressive. I don't know when I have enjoyed a military review as much as I have enjoyed this one. James D. Morgan TSgt USAF Retired

  • what is the name of the first bagpipesong

  • I love when Prince Philip looks like he smiles at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when everyone cheers for them.

  • A stunning spectacle - there is nothing to remotely compare to it. The Queen and Duke are wonderful and still look terrific, especially smiling on the balcony. Everyone performed magnificently, including the horses, and the commentary was just right - informative but not intrusive. Most of the troopers looked so young.

  • And also at 08:48 listen to the crowd when the lovely couple comes out.

Best and louder than to anyone else ;)

  • Look at William at 12:49

He puts his hand on Kate's waist.

    He is protecting her<3

    Lovely gesture,lovely couple<3

  • William and Kate look lovely together<3

I hoped they would give one more kiss, but the Queen wouldn't allow something like that to happen :(
