  • What a good piggy :)

  • Hi what do you do to her fur so that pee doesn't get onto it? And do you trim her fur? My little brown Sheltie has very long fur..I'm really reluctant to cut it..

  • @amberyam Hi! I always cut/trim their fur short near/around her bottom so their fur will not get wet and smelly. Sometimes, you really need to cut their hair/fur for hygiene and you should brush their hair at least twice a day if they have a long hair/fur to remove the dead hair and to untangled the hair. Because the weather in the Philippines is hot and humid...I always give them a bath once a week.

  • Baby....i am coming....wait for me..

  • omg , she's so good ! . I wish my boys were that good .

  • My Guineapigy is called Peach! :3 But I always call her Peachy ^_^ Shes so cute! :D My Peachy is a Teddy breed :3

  • I have a long haired guinea named Max and he gets mad at me when I come his hair lol he grinds his teeth lol. Only time he does that.

  • woah!!!! how you bought it at what price?....im kinda tempt to buy some,is it ok if i'll put peruvian cavy and guinea pigs together? pls reply and another thing are you giving them a bath? because i do give mine and how often you do? tnx!!!

  • hi! i bought them through a guinea pig breeder. the price is depend on the breed and age. you can put the peruvian and ordinary guinea pigs together but get yourself prepared for the cross breed if they mate. i give my cavies a bath twice a month... :)

  • Hi Adeleah, how do you get him to stay so still? He looks almost in a trance! : - )

  • Hi! It is called "Discipline"..I teached her and my other cavies that if it's grooming time they should stay still :)

  • But how do you teach them that? He is so good.

  • it will take sometime for them to learned the "No" word. Be firmed while saying no and do a gentle but firm tapped on their nose...

  • @phantomendoza

My Roxy costed 25 Euros as I bought her. She was 5 months old. She is, in fact, not a pure sheltie. She looks about 90% like a sheltie and about 10% like a US teddy, that means that just the nose is a little bit more cornered than like a pure sheltie, but the "rest" looks really sheltie-like. :-)

Now my Roxy is 18 months old and a real cutie. I cannot stop petting her soft hair, and I think she also likes it. :-)

  • lol at 1:15 but very very cute

  • famz5

He's so cute at that point isn't hr? I want to cuddle him so bad then... : - )

  • shes a miniature dog

  • is she albino, got pink eyes

  • yup proud to be a pinoy! ;)

  • oh i see,. so rare lang talaga ung nagbebenta dito sa pinas ng hay..

    aww.. sana mkahanap ako.. anyways..

ang gaganda ng piggies mo..! =)

  • pinoy ka pla:)

  • opo :)

  • aw! I llov guineapigs

  • She's so calm. When I brush mine, they squirm and try and get away, no matter how gentle I am!

  • Is Sheltie a specific breed of guinea pig? Are there diff breeds of pigs like with cats and dogs? I love when she is picked up and she goes spreadeagle with her legs and arms! Cute!

  • Yes, Sheltie is one of the breeds of guinea pigs. There are Peruvian, Abysinian, American, and other more. Different breeds has their own distinguished kind/style of hair. They are all adorable.. :)

Nakita namin yung ads sa buy and sell magazine. Breeder tlaga sila ng different breeds ng guinea pigs.

  • when i tried to brush my gp he skydove off the bed and ran b hind my desk and got stuck!!!

  • so big..hehee

  • I had a long haired Guinea pig when I was a little girl. Now that I am a mom with teenagers I want to get another one. Is there a place to get a long hair guinea pig in New England (Massachusetts)?

  • Ooooh if only my piggies would take so well to being brushed! They cry every time like it's the worst tragedy that's ever happened to them!

  • what a lovely, well-behaved lil' pet!

its a wonder that these little guys arent more popular~

    Nice Video!

  • I glggled when peachy was being picked up. :)

  • she must love u 2 let u pick her u llike that

  • you love her i can tell... she looks very content shes lucky to have you as a mama!!

  • I wish my three boys were that laid-back!

  • My sheltie harry looks the same as peachy, he has a kind of V on his back, and a white nose, exactly the same. The onely diffrens is : Harry is lighter :)

  • her hairs long. its cute! XD

  • I LOVE people like you who are so good and kind to these lovely little animals.

  • aww.. she's behaving so well. i wish my guinea pig could behave like that.

  • im thinking bout adopting a cavyy,is it hard work?fun?

  • just like having a dog or a cat there's always a responsibility with it. It's not that hard work especially if you're an animal lover. If you love your cavy then it's fun. They are cute, sweet and a lovable pets to have.. I really love my cavies :)

  • piggies are sooo worth the work.

    i have two rescues.

they're like part of the family, and love to talk to anyone that walks by.

they are definately hard work, read up on them before looking for one. when i first became interested, i figured they'd be like a hamster. i read up on it before getting them, and they DEFINATELY are not as low maintenance as a hamster or mouse.

    good luck! :D

  • guinea pigs need to have there cage cleaned regulery. they need good food & treats. DONT JUST FEED THEM TREATS! they definitly need love. and if your thinking about getting one and might not have enough time to play with him/her all time, get another guineapig for him/her as a friend. they also need fresh water.

  • Oh my goodness that little Peachy is better than a teddy bear!!

  • I have a 7-year-old sow sheltie who absolutely HATES to be groomed, so I am quite amazed to see such a calm and docile sheltie like this little lady! But I guess I'd say that my Oreo has always been a very moody guinea, hehehe...

  • aww cute i have a sheltie called crumble but she is not as well behaved as yours

  • teehee. Uber cutie. (:

  • This is adorable! How young did you adopt her? so cute.

  • hi! thanks! we got her when she was just 2weeks old :)

  • how can u teach ur gp so well behaved? mines is soooooo scratchy.. it always scratches my face!!!! pls tell me!!!!!!

  • hi!juz read my reply on the upper thread about DISCIPLINE... thanks!

  • wow, so well behaved!

  • What a nice fur.. Lovely guinea pig

  • Im sooo glad to see this guinea pig is soo accepting towards you touching him every whare, that shows that hes used to being cared for!=]

  • my guinea pig won't let me touch him anywhere near his tummy. He's very ticklish and gets mad. Wicked cute guinea pig you have. Lots or fur!!!

  • troppo forte ahahahahahahahah

  • Hi adeleah! my 2 mo. old peruv cavy only eats camote tops and purina seeds.. i know most cavies loves cucumber, however, my gp ignores cucumber.. he doesn't like carrots, apples, tomato.. i haven't tried giving my gp grapes and any other treats though.. how would i make my gp eat other vegetables?

  • hi!it is a bit hard to introduce new food to gp's if they usually used on eating the same foods everyday.gps cant adjust to new food/new environment/noise that fast but they will, give them time.its like gaining their trust.if u try to give them new food like carrots, put a little piece on their cage or hold it in ur hand,1st they'll juz smell it & nibble it a bit then "deadma".b patient&do it everyday, they'll get used to the smell of & to the taste of it.

  • I give my gps fresh hay & gp/rabbit pellets everday, carrots for their treat,petchay/parsley/kangkong/cucumber&water w/vit.c.i dont give my gp's a messy food like tomato. Goodluck! :)

  • Use pellets specificly for guinea pigs. If it lists guinea pig/rabbit then the guinea pig might not be getting sufficant vitaman C>

  • same w/ my long haired peruvian.. i have tried everything, carrots, cucumbers, apples, lettuce, celery, grapes, tomatoes, bananas.. he WILL NOT eat them, lol. he literally makes a face (very cute) and runs away. but he LOOOOVES his gp food (w/ lots of vit. c)but will not eat any fruits or veggies. so sad.

  • Oh my goodness, if you don't mind me saying, that's hilarious (if sad) because it reminds me of my brother who until his first girlfriend made him at the age of 20, did not eat one fruit or vegetable his entire life. In a way though it makes things easy for you. Just so long as you can find a pellet food that's fresh and nutritious ....

  • have you got budgies i can hear them

  • hi! it's not a budgies...it's just the love birds in the background chirping.

  • Does anyone know of any sheltie cavy breeders located in or near Perth, Western Australia?

I can't seem to find any.

  • What's your secret ? How make your guinea p. stay so still while you take care of him ? Mine's almost 1 year and he's so energic ! He moves, jumps, dances and sings all the time ! Each time I try to catch him he runs away, then comes back and stares at me with a look saying "Catch me if you can, fool !" :)

  • DISCIPLINE..that's the secret..which is not a secret anymore :) You need to be firmed when you discipline your guinea pigs..just like training a dog..You are the MASTER. Even though they are small it doesn't mean that you need to treat them without limitations. You need to discipline them first..say "no" or "dont" on a firmed voice..and when they obey you..give them their treat :) And always give them attention..hold them always and talk to them :) Goodluck!

  • Thank you very much for your advise that I'll follow from now... If I can reach half of your results, I'd be already very satisfied. Thanks again and lots of kisses to your cute guinea :)

  • your welcome :) be patient...

  • ohh..thats what I do.One of my guinea pigs (smores) likes to bite..he liked to chew on his little ramp and I just held him down on his back and said "NO"..more like screamed it. :) He doesn't chew on is anymore.

  • She is really cute!

  • My guineas would never let me do that. That's the calmest cavy I've ever seen!

  • haha...ur Filipino

i have a Filipina friend, and she tought me that "teka ment wait...

  • I gave up two little piggies once for adoption. The lady picked up one of the piggies like you do and snapped her spine and she died instancely. I agree with some of the other people who commented on picking up and hold the guinea pig more carefully.

  • poor piggy :(

Maye this woman shold try cradiling the piggy in a towel to brush it's tummy?

  • No, she is holding the pig right. It takes practice for some people. Holding them firmly but gently in this fasion does not hurt them.

  • Oh God why did you picked her up like that! It looks painfull!

  • it looks painful...but it's not...you should pick her up right under her armpit..but not too tight..

  • Wonderful video, she is so tame!!!

  • hahaha you got a lot of guinea pigs

  • what a good girl she is. very cute

  • thank you. she really is a good girl.. :)

  • hahah Diverese System you are funny! i dont unlol the pet is cute what beautiful long hair.

  • What did you do to her arm beforeyou picked her up? Did you dislocate it or something?

  • haha what a nice guinea pig

  • You should support the bottom when you pick her up b/c she looks uncomfortable.

  • She's so pretty! She's really trusting too, mine would freak if I tried to pick them up that way.
