Hiyaaaa! Have you ever tried - fast abs magic (do a search on google)? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my buddy got hot 6 pack abs and lost a lot of fat with it.
breast fed babies are often chubbier, it's cause breast milk is nutritious, but saying that fat babies aren't allowed on their plan, means that more moms are going to be pushed to formula feeding. they'll have a bunch of skinny, formula fed babies, growing up, and draining their company of funds cause overall, they're a less healthy bunch... good plan.
GET THE INSURANCE EARLIER... for the example of the kid: the parents should have got insurance when she was born or even before that! oh, or move to canada :)
@DCpin0y But people insist there are death panels, etc. in the healthcare bill, call it "Obamacare" and defend the industry to the death because they are so afraid of the government. They have been told that government is bad and they are not smart enough to realize there is good and bad in government. There was this guy, fbi10, who INSISTED there were death panels, etc. I decided he was not on the square, so I stopped arguing with him. Go to the "Death Panels BS is back" video and you will see
@DCpin0y what I mean. He cannot be this irrational. He was being Stephen Colbert. I just decided I was wasting my time and let him have his precious private insurance. But there are many others who are on the square. They DO believe the lies because they are not smart enough and too afraid to think it through. Reagan and others have hammered in fear of government so innately that they are shaking in their boots. Fear is a very strong motivator for weak-minded people. That's why they do it.
@Zander73 I was gonna leave a comment here expressing my point of view, but then I saw you went ahead and did it better than I ever could. Much obliged, bro!
Over here we have an NHS. When we gett ill we are more concerned about getting better and we don't need to worry about this insurance bullshit.
I have private medical care through my work but I still elect for NHS more often than not because until I get majorly ill (which thankfully I have not been recently) the NHS matches private healthcare 9/10. This is why the UK's life expectancy is pretty high. We take care of our own. We value human life more than premiums and insurance.
@Somozusi I agree with your statement totally. Greed is corrupting and clouding people's visions. It isn't socialist, its being humane, valuing human life as you said.
Beat the standards outta them. i cant believe this, both kids were totally beautiful, and deserve health insurance as much as the next kid (no matter what percentile they're in).
In my opinion, if America has the funds to kill people, then it must have the funds to heal people. Over the past 8 years or so, the US has spend over 800 billion dollars killing people, when that expense could have saved the lives of many Americans. Fuck costly and unnecessary wars.
@grenadezeroone America just had their soldiers killed, they lost money, and now the terrorists are spreading wider and farther. So thank yourselves, you're in it for the long haul.
I fail to see the technical difference between Health Insurance Capitalism and Sneakers Capitalism. Yes one has worse consequences than the other, but that doesen't make "sneakers capitalism" all right.
The majority of people involved in ANY kind of capitalism gets cheated. The loss in most cases is fruit of labor, but when it's human health it's apparently remarkably different. Why?
Cenk keeps saying he supports capitalism, but never why, and he hates the bad that capitalism brings!
U.S.A. compared to "other" countries with Universal Health Care? ***TAX FREEDOM DAYS*** (Date "you" PAY TAXES until youre "TAX FREE"!) U.S.A.... April 13th (Date "they" PAY TAXES until "TAX FREE" with universal health care?) UK......May 14th Canada.... June 6th Germany... July 8th France...... July 16th Sweden.... July 29th NOTE: numbers do NOT reflect the NATIONAL SALES TAX "they" pay in comparison to the U.S.A. US 0%, UK 17.5%, France 20% Canada 22% (total), Germany 23% (total)
You have a point until you factor in insurance costs per individual in the USA. Doing that would pretty much negate the tax freedom days. It would come close to working out much the same in terms of overall $ spent by the taxpayer. Universal care, as Cenk has pointed out, would cover you regardless of your illness and you never have to worry about caps, limits or pre-existing conditions. Tax freedom day is great but then you have premiums for health ins. The other countries don't.
Really? Just think about LOOSING 20% of your income to taxes on the things you buy day to day!
And did you know that Nancy Pelosi, House Dem Leader is proposing that very thing for here in the U.S.?
So... if you buy a car... you'll pay TT&L... but under the Dem's plans of a National Sales Tax... expect 20% MORE taxes to be paid when you buy that car to help pay for this health care garbage!
So... $30,000 car ends up costing around $38,000!
In OUR case in the U.S.... the "average" American... will use ALL their income they earn from January 1st to April 13th to pay for taxes alone.
Then the remaining time is what income YOU get to keep!
They've been using this comparison for years now to show a simple fast way to compare year to year our own taxes and to compare to "other" countries as well!
The case of "other" countries that have Universal Health Care.. it's important to see they pay dearly in taxes for it!
Ahh I see. Thanks for clarifying I honestly never heard of that before.
I live in Canada... I really don't mind paying longer for health security for myself and fellow Canadians.
Are those stats accurate when you consider how much you guys pay extra for private health insurance? Where did you get your stats? Are there any metrics when you factor in private health insurance?
You can google .. tax freedom days .. and find out all you like!
And there are no stats on factoring in the health insurance since, at least for now, it's not "MANDATED" upon us like other countries do... which they pay for with the additional National Sales Tax!
I'm far happier to have the "option" of choosing what I will buy with my money than being forced to buy something I don't want to buy!
& it's cheaper to get "catastrophic" coverage and pay out of pocket for the little stuff!
However, the current plans by the Democrats removes those options and will force everyone to get the coverage that the government MANDATES!
Even more.. for those that have "cadilac" plans or the best plans.. they'll be paying in an additional 40% more in taxes because they have TOO much coverage!
Then we have the little problem of the taxation for the health care starting NEXT YEAR... BUT... the plans won't start until 2015 / 2016?
Now you can see why so many people here are angry!
I hear ya. I think we can both agree that the proposal as it stands is not satisfactory. I am leaning towards universal health care because... well... I know it works for us up here in Canada. Canada is different than America of course, so you guys need to find a way that works for your society.

"Alot of other countries are spending less than 10% and they able to cover all of their citizens. how come america cant cover everyone with 16% of the budget?"
Social Security checks could be a big part of the problem. Can't give out retirement money to 65 yearolds if the average life span is 80 and quickly approaching one hundred. Then the republicans want to talk about free loaders and ignore the old who don't work!
You left out the VAT that other countries pay! Take France... their National Sales Tax ALONE is 20% on TOP of their other forms of taxation!
And... did you know that Nancy Pelosi is talking about starting a NST here in America to the tune of 20% on almost everything you buy to pay for this health care garbage? And this does NOT replace any of the existing taxes we currently pay!
Scale the doctors use to say if someone is fat or not is bull shit they just take your height and weight into consideration... according to that chart I am considered to be over weight... However when they did my fitness test in lifetime they actually pinched and measured my fat and I was considered to be in an excellent shape because I have a lot of muscle :) .
I have to disagree with you, even with national heath care you still want options. It would be best if the government imposed more laws and regulation on private heath care insures so that they can not screw you over.
healthcare for profit is illegal, with all the republican bullshit about death panels it's the health insurance companies actually doing it.
they decide who lives and who dies all for the almighty dollar. what's your life worth? because the insurance companies are putting thier own price on your life....
This whole country can go to hell in a hand basket...that we as citizens allow companies to get away with this...and we think we've accomplished something by graduating college and working for these assho**s and never standiing up to them

democrats they always complain about bullies picking on them at recess and not getting free milk from the government and that the government dosnt send someone to kiss their owies when they fall down and go boom.
And republicans are always fucking around on their wives usually with another man in a public toilette and stealing funds and taking kick backs from inurance companies as children die, and then saying they are above the law because god elected them to office....
I like using you're reasoning and debating technique there is no accountability and gross generalizations are acceptable....
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Idk i havent heard about that mabe. If children die then its either the fault of the universe for being how it is or their parents for not taking care of them. And yes no one who takes any money should be elected but your the ones who wont vote for regular people. I would vote for whoever took 0$ in contributions but they never win. Democrats cant handel anything thats why we need traffic cops. Without them to tell democrats how to drive there would be too many accidents.
You have to be one of the biggest idiots on the planet. No wonder why you're a rethug. The lack of brain cells says it at. Your mother should of swallowed..
Yeah we don't need any health insurance reform. Crap like this is totally acceptable! Everything's fine...sssshhhhhh, just go back to Gleen Beck everything's fine. Oh yeah, and SOCIALISM! There, that should hold you over for a while.
I had a student plan through United Health Care. It sucked. I read all the literature and I could swear to high heaven that it looked like a pretty decent plan with doctor visit copays and prescription coverage/etc but when I actually tried to USE it, it fucking blew. I was prescribed sleeping medication (generic ambien, nothing special) by an in-network doctor (they didn't cover the visit for some reason) and they wouldn't pay for the small dose of generic ambien i was taking. Not at all..
I really don't get it - how is it insurance companies make big money for sick and dying people - when we pay their salaries (bailout),
And was this child trying out for americas next top model or .... Come on America wake up and get the NHS and stop being last in healthcare for all. GEEEZ
why would these ins. co. being doing ridiculous things like this while we are discussing a need for change. they always say everything is fine, but it is obviously not. they slap the american people in the face over and over again.
I love the NHS and its a shame america has been lied to by Fox news and the republicans. The british healthcare system is very good and we feel utterly insulted when americans critisize it after all we are ranked more than 30 positions ahead of them according to the UN and what right to they have to critisize our healthcare system.
It's because in our political system whoever has the money has the power. It's backwards, we fear our government you guy's make the government fear you. I also really like the "vote of no confidence" option you guys have.
Agree with warrenoc. Our British healthcare system has it's flaws BUT at least we get our care without having to worry about $10,000 if we have an accident. Fox news was so desperate to derail the healthcare debate they got some posh asshole to decry our system. They need to take a good hard long look at their own.
i know, when will these idiots realise its the best resource a country can have.
i mean they dont get that we can still have private insurance if we choose but having the nhs there assures you of high quality treatment no matter what.
How much will the wars in the middle east cost over 10 years? No, make that 20 years. Lets not forget the human cost of taking care of the war vets. Since we are throwing number$ around 3 Trillion and counting. Everything cost$ but what is more valuable? The great equalizer here is that everyone gets sick, but going to war is a choice.
They have determined that the Finance Committee Bill, as introduced, will cost....
$1.8 TRILLION over 10 years
The HELP Committee bill will cost...
$2.2 TRILLION over 10 years!
House bill will cost...
$2.4 TRILLION over 10 years.
Estimates do not include the MASSIVE TAXATION, CUTS to Medicare ($404 BILLION), TAXES to individuals or employers "failing to buy insurance", NATIONAL SALES TAX, or the 6% of those DENIED COVERAGE!
PROHIBITED and voted "DOWN" several times from We The People having a chance to read the proposals prior to obamer signing them into law?"
They haven't, the bills are on the internet, free for you to read and download. Don't make shit up and expect people to not call you on it, by the way.
Do keep up with the news... even from the liberal news outlets... the bill passed by the Senate Finance Committee ADMITTED there is NO actual bill written that they voted on!!!!!
ok so bigtex is retarded....and yes the bill is open to reading....secondly you are not "STUCK WITH" it ...it is simply a public OPTION. ie you can still use private healthcare if you want (though private healthcare companies are scared shitless because the government wont need the ridiculous profits, and can offer healthcare cheaply)
Ps where do you get your estimates from lol? public healthcare (like it is for just about every first world nation) is massively cheaper. U fool.
Polls say that a majority of Americans want a public option. If this Democratic majority Congress and the Obama administration pass a health care reform bill WITHOUT a public option then they will have FAILED. A health care reform bill without a public option is NOT reform. Better to pass nothing at all than a bill without a public option.
I wish I owned an insurance company. I'd put a policy for only healthy people and if you get sick or hurt we don't pay. We only want your money. I'd call it Aetna or United Healthcare or Cigna or Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Right on, Cenk! It's also ridiculous that these insurance companies aren't even allowing the parents to pay a higher premium to reflect the added "risk" -- those families are just shut out completely, so the insurance companies can keep their profits high. It's a farce to suggest that any insurance companies actually care about "health" or medical services beyond the legal minimum, to maximize the corporations' bank accounts. Conservatives who want to keep the status quo are downright evil.
How can anyone justify being against a public option when we see clearly that PRIVATE insurers are flat-out saying no? This is mind-boggling. If everyone had a private option, at least then you'd have some sort of a case (a weak one, but a case). But here the private companies are saying, 'no, we won't insure you.' Um... hello! This is proof that a public option is not only needed -- it's completely necessary.
You think? I am not sure your country is ready to be saved. I don't want to offend but sometimes when I see things like this, it almost seems like you guys are living in the stone age. Can one administration really change things and drag you into the present? I am skeptical.
Of course one president can't right every wrong. But he can change a lot and despite all the bitching and moaning people do he's been doing an excellent job. Especially considering the amount of dead weight he's dragging along, not to mention the ludicrous behaviour of his opposition party.
People who thought he could fix every problem Bush created, and in his first year in office (it hasn't even been that yet) really, really don't get it.
Exactly. Republicans try to fuck him up at every turn then bitch, "WHERE'S THE CHANGE YOU PROMISED US, HUH OBAMA?!"
Well, he wasn't talking about turning America into a fucking utopia overnight, kids. He was talking about universal healthcare, fixing foreign policy problems - all the shit the GOP is trying to slow down.
But thats my point. What you are calling dead weight, seems to be about half of your people. It seems an almost impossible task to fix even one problem when half your people seem completely committed to making sure the president fails and the country falls.
Its almost as if they are saying "if we cant be in charge, we are going to destroy the country". It just blows my mind.
It looks like the rest of the country like to ride on the wave of the successes of progressive ideas as evidence that they are hard working and intelligent. This is how you win from keeping people ignorant
They do have accident insurance. It's called AFLAC insurance. As their slogan goes, "if you get hurt and miss work, it wont hurt to miss work" Sometimes the kids get it at school for a twenty four hour policy or just a policy to cover injuries at school or school functions.
As much as the Conservatives defend the current Insurance industry and call Obama a Nazi for wanting to change it, isn't it ironic that those very insurance companies are practicing Nazi behaviors with their "doesn't meet company standards" with the people they insure?

Idk i havent heard about that mabe. If children die then its either the fault of the universe for being how it is or their parents for not taking care of them.

THE DEMOCRAT'S PLANS????
Will ONLY cover 94% of the 330 Million people in America???
So that means that ***19.8 Million*** people will NOT GET COVERED???
And like Medicare... if they follow the same pattern of 6.9% that are "DENIED" medical care....
Then ***22.77 Million*** people will be.....
"DENIED MEDICAL CARE"???
Now WHO supports this????
bigtex501 2 years ago
ok so bigtex is retarded....and yes the bill is open to reading....secondly you are not "STUCK WITH" it ...it is simply a public OPTION. ie you can still use private healthcare if you want (though private healthcare companies are scared shitless because the government wont need the ridiculous profits, and can offer healthcare cheaply)
Ps where do you get your estimates from lol? public healthcare (like it is for just about every first world nation) is massively cheaper. U fool.

Here's one for you, my brother in laws insurance requires them to call for approval before an ER visit, or they wont pay.
So if one of kids gets hurt, you're supposed to call for approval before going to the ER.
Someone should really tell them the E stands for emergency.

Polls say that a majority of Americans want a public option. If this Democratic majority Congress and the Obama administration pass a health care reform bill WITHOUT a public option then they will have FAILED. A health care reform bill without a public option is NOT reform. Better to pass nothing at all than a bill without a public option.
COM0fAek 2 years ago
I wish I owned an insurance company. I'd put a policy for only healthy people and if you get sick or hurt we don't pay. We only want your money. I'd call it Aetna or United Healthcare or Cigna or Blue Cross Blue Shield.
pongman 2 years ago 2
Just the fact that they don't cover every single person seems amazingly brutal to a european person.
DieDulciFruere 2 years ago
Right on, Cenk! It's also ridiculous that these insurance companies aren't even allowing the parents to pay a higher premium to reflect the added "risk" -- those families are just shut out completely, so the insurance companies can keep their profits high. It's a farce to suggest that any insurance companies actually care about "health" or medical services beyond the legal minimum, to maximize the corporations' bank accounts. Conservatives who want to keep the status quo are downright evil.
Big10 2 years ago
How can anyone justify being against a public option when we see clearly that PRIVATE insurers are flat-out saying no? This is mind-boggling. If everyone had a private option, at least then you'd have some sort of a case (a weak one, but a case). But here the private companies are saying, 'no, we won't insure you.' Um... hello! This is proof that a public option is not only needed -- it's completely necessary.

morganbath 2 years ago 2
Of course one president can't right every wrong. But he can change a lot and despite all the bitching and moaning people do he's been doing an excellent job. Especially considering the amount of dead weight he's dragging along, not to mention the ludicrous behaviour of his opposition party.
People who thought he could fix every problem Bush created, and in his first year in office (it hasn't even been that yet) really, really don't get it.
megamarsvin 2 years ago 2

Exactly. Republicans try to fuck him up at every turn then bitch, "WHERE'S THE CHANGE YOU PROMISED US, HUH OBAMA?!"
Well, he wasn't talking about turning America into a fucking utopia overnight, kids. He was talking about universal healthcare, fixing foreign policy problems - all the shit the GOP is trying to slow down.
dylantuzyk 2 years ago 4
exactly
StealOnU 2 years ago
But thats my point. What you are calling dead weight, seems to be about half of your people. It seems an almost impossible task to fix even one problem when half your people seem completely committed to making sure the president fails and the country falls.
Its almost as if they are saying "if we cant be in charge, we are going to destroy the country". It just blows my mind.

They do have accident insurance. It's called AFLAC insurance. As their slogan goes, "if you get hurt and miss work, it wont hurt to miss work" Sometimes the kids get it at school for a twenty four hour policy or just a policy to cover injuries at school or school functions.
