Just a quick note to let you know, if you're intending to use this to learn Rails 2.0 or greater there are steps in this tutorial that appear to be missed out, so this tutorial is not relevant for newer versions of Rails.

@ChainsawRaptor absolutely, it's a lil slower on Windows than Linus, but you'll be deploying on it on Linux anyway.

Man i just got finishing watching the blog in 15 minutes vidcast. Where the fuck was I? I've never heard of ruby.

Please keep in mind: PHP is a language, Ruby on Rails is a framework. There are similar projects for PHP, too.

Theres frameworks like CakePHP and CodeIgniter that follow some of the ideas with RoR.
