At one point it was considered that Raoh & Falco were of equal terms in ability and fighting skill, but due to him wanting to protect his village from Raoh's army in the case they both died in battle he gave him the leg
Yeah, that was one of the deaths that bothered me most in all HnK. I understand that he still hadn't entirely recovered from injuries from the fight with Ken, and that they probably wanted to show how "tough" Shura was gonna be by making a no-namer beat the most powerful foe from the previous story arc, but come the fuck on...
Falco was an amputee. You have to remember Kenshiro was NICE to Falco when he disabled his own leg to fight him. If Kenshiro had use of all of his limbs he may have very well crushed Falco like a bug.
This no-namer took complete advantage of his prosthetic leg. Also, Falco was critically wounded by Ken. Factor both of those in and Falco losing is completely believable. The only reason Falco could beat the kid period was thanks to Ken's life-ending but power-giving pressure point maneuver.
This puke does not deserve a name. He hasn't earned anything and never will. I never refer to him as Shura. He didn't deserve the satisfaction in the manga/anime and he doesn't deserve the satisfaction from me, a fan.
Falco defeated him plus he came there with a serious would and this guy was a master of attacking with stealth honestly falco got screwed i mean he could go par with kenshiro in there fight even though i think ken held back.
Beaten by a nameless shura who doesn't even have a name is a serious humiliation. Even shachi who is ALOT weaker than Falco can kill an infinite amount of shura by himself.
Not in this case, Falco mastered the art of fighting as an amputee and he is actually better than when he had two legs. Just take a look at his battle with Kenshiro and how they are evenly matched.
If Shachi can kill a Shura General, than Falco can definitely kill a nameless shura.
You keep forgetting that Kenshiro also made himself an amputee to make it even. If Kenshiro didn't do that the match would not have been close at all. You're missing the point that the nameless shura took advantage of the leg where Ken did not, honorably.
Actually Kenshiro made himself an amputee to figure out how Falco's tricks work and thus counter his attacks. Also, if you look at the manga, it never showed that the nameless Shura took advantage of Falco being an amputee, it merely showed the Shura holding Falco's fake leg. The Shura, according to the manga, could have defeated Falco (very disturbing) without attacking his fake leg on purpose.
You also keep forgeting that Falco is definitely better than Shachi and at certain times close to the battle skill of Raoh (something Shachi never managed to do). It would be like saying that Raoh would lost to the namelss Shura if he only had one leg.
The nameless Shura took advantage of the leg & did not disable his own leg.
Forget the leg. Falco was almost KILLED by Ken with a critical attack. He had not recovered properly and rushed himself to Shura.
Fake leg, critically wounded by Ken with no recovery time, & opponent who shows no mercy for fake legs.
IF Raoh was wounded by Ken & had 1 leg he MAY have lost to the Shura but Raoh knew to recover. He was bandaged up while Ken did not rest, fought Souther, & lost
I appreciate your determination. I have already stated my points and doesn't quite agree with yours. The only arguable element in this debate is how much did Falco recovered. The comic never showed how much did he recovered but he definitely looks very capable of fighting. The comic also never showed the Shura took advantage of Falco's fake leg, so your claims on Shura won because taking advantage of leg is purely fictional.
To sum up my points: Falco is close to the battle skill of both Raoh and Kenshiro, who both can match at least one of the Three Shura Lords, so Falco losing to a nameless Shura near impossible. Falco mastered the fighting art of an amputee so having a fake leg is no problem for him, even if his opponent take advantege of it (the comic never showed that). Falco did recovered and though not completely is definitely very capable of fighting. I'd call a closing to this debate.
Fictional when the anime shows the nameless boy keying in on the leg to gain the upper hand? The anime is not illegitimate. It does deserve credit
Ken acknowledges Falco is weak to the boy.
Falco almost died against Ken. Seemingly the very next day he sets sail. That counts for something. Falco, when speaking to his love interest on the beach, foretold of his departure to Shura a fatal mistake
Falco, in bad shape, understood the urgency and died rising to the occasion. Beautiful tale
It is not completely illegitimate, but you also need to keep in mind that the anime is not the artist's original creation and they "animaiton" add their own stories from time to time. These "stories" not from the hands of original author can hardly be considered as a part of the series.
In the comic Ken does not acknowledges Falco is weak to the boy, he merely stated Falco is wounded and if he wasn't he would have won for sure.
The tail is beautiful but it doesn't add anything to this debate.
Ken saying to the nameless boy that Falco would have won had he not been wounded previously is, in essence, acknowledging Falco is weak at the moment. Let's not waste time going in pointless circles discussing rhetoric. The anime portrayed the same thing. Moving on...
You also never commented on the differnce in rank between the nameless Shura and other more higher ranked Shuras. If this nameless Shura is indeed so tough, surely he would have gained the title of the general right?
Kenshiro can kill other nameless Shuras and even titled ones with one punch so why can't Falco defeat him. Or is a wounded Falco not worth Ken's one attack?
How about Shachi? Is a wounded Falco weaker than Shachi who can kill a Shura General?
Man, I see no point of continuing this debate. Not only do we disagree when they set sail, how much have they recovered and the ability of the Shura boy.
i dont think you should compare shachi to falco.after all, shachi grew in the land of shura. he got used to the shura attacking him and the brutal rules of the land.
I appreciate your opinions, but Falco also lived in a time of chaos and has to deal with many opponents, many of them practitioners of Fist of the South Star. As we go deeper in the manga we realize that the Shuras aren't as tough as they were first depicted and even Shachi who has no martial arts training (in Shachi's flash back) can kill a Shura himself. I would say the amount of danger and the skill of opponents each of them are exposed to are about equal.
@cartoonjerk That's like saying every single Shura (apart from the Rasho) are all of the same level, which is nonsense. We have fighters like Alf & Kaiser, who would have eaten Shachi alive when he was a kid. He just happened to fight a thuggish Shura, and even then he got lucky when he killed him.
@sec0ndevolution Apparently you didn't read my comments and the manga carefuly enough. Besides the Rasho there are the regional lords and even bellow are those Shuras with names (yes you have to earn them) and those Shura who does not have to wear masks (you have to earn that right as well). At the very bottom are Shuras who have to wear masks. Shachi killed one unmasked Shura before he learned the style of Hokuto Ryuken while a masked shura (implying is is weaker) "killed" Falco.
@sec0ndevolution Knowing how the rankings correspond to the Shura's ability. I can safely assume that the masked Shura Falco fought against is weaker than the two unmasked fighters Shachi fought before he was trained. How Shachi can killan unmasked one while Falco got owned by a masked one (despite of his injuries he should still be better than an untrained person) implies there is a mistake in the author's description of Shura's ability and how Falco should not have lost despite of his injury
falco is badass

Difference in rank is a give-in. Boy didnt have a name therefore he was low in the power structure
Shuraboy was not tough as much as Falco was weak. Shachi wouldve beaten Falco on that day just as Falco wasnt worth Kens one punch in his condition.
Falco was mortally wounded by Ken & reversed it at a price. U dont bounce back from that
Raoh rested in bed wrapped in bandages after him & Ken fought & that was a draw! Falco was at Kens mercy & sailed off the next day & he lost
Thats the reality
