  • The girl who is helping her would really annoy me cuz no affence but I think she should just do it herself sorry but I LOVE baking! And btw why it is a family event? Does grandpa come all the way from californa?

  • @thenamesblue You are very rude.

  • @thenamesblue well gee, seeing as I was all but 14 years old, I wasn't necessarily a professional, yet.

  • lol.. that was the cutest! hmm... im going to gather everyone around when i cover my very first fondant cake

  • ohhh wow ohhh wow is fondant.

  • yummy that is one nice looking cake

  • and thus the fondant cake is born

  • this 'family event' was so cute! great job :)

  • I bought mine from the cake-decorating section of wal-mart, but any arts&crafts/baking supplies store should carry it, such as michael's

  • how do you make the fodant or where do you buy the fodant?

  • I just bought some from Walmart for about 4 bucks and covered an 8 inch cake.

  • wow nice job!

  • 'twas chocolate buttercream, eff why eye

  • y do u cover the cake wth choc icing? its not preferable u know! nxt tym try buttercream coz experts recommend that...

  • very cool

  • um.... anyways! Well atleast the cake looks so white and perfect! And I'll bet it'll taste good!

  • woah...those "tip" comments prolly took longer to type out than the video is long...

  • rofl its like a stinkin family event rofl

  • :O !!!!!

  • I've got some tips for you. ^^ First of all, your fondant will not crack it you've rolled it out to 1/4 inches thickness. Your buttercream looked sloppy so that is a problem. You need to refrigerate first, and then lightly run your fingers over the edge to take off any sharpness. And do not lift the fondant like that. You need to place both hands underneath it or lightly roll it onto a roller and place it on the cake.

  • Smooth with the palm of your hands, and move quicker. Preferably, you should use a Wilton Fondant Smoother, but hands are fine (although they heat up the fondant and distort it). Also, cut off excess fondant quickly.

  • HAHAHA dude im just a kid having fun, no need to get all technical on me!

  • hi...u sound like u know what ur talking about plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz help me,, i wana learn how to make that...i love making cakes, i dont wana brag but i make one of the best cakes.. but i never made a fondant...plz help ,, what do i need to buy...

  • Do NOT buy it from there! If it's Wilton brand, it tastes like crap. Worse even. Please do not do it, you will seriously regret it. Search for "pettinice" or "satin ice" if you want good quality, great tasting fondant!

  • Is there a chain store that sells Satin Ice or Pettinice, or do I have to buy it online? I am a new member of CakeCental website and the other members of the online forum keep raving about those brands. I'm intrigued. Wilton DOES taste bad! >:P

  • do you buy the fondant or do you have to like mix loads of ingredients in. i'm making a cake with fondant for the first time so i don't know what to put on the cake before putting the icing on =]

  • michael's craft store

  • Thank you. I will try it one day...

  • So how easy is it to actually do? I had never heard of it. A friend asked about it so I looked around the found this video. It looked easy when you did it, but how simple is it to roll out and get flat on the cake? Thanks for the lesson... :)

  • it's actually really frustrating. it's hard to not let it crack and dry out so you have to work quickly.
