Not sure why everyone is bashing a comparison of current madden to this. I mean besides from the cinematic style in this vid i think current madden looks just as good if not better. The Call of Duty trailers are accurate. Keep in mind that those trailers are for Campaign mode, not online.

I don't know if you are all watching the same trailer I am. It's promoting "Madden: Next Gen" and not "Madden 2006". And in my opinion, the first real next gen Madden, which was Madden 2009, lived up, if not surpassed this trailer. It is true that I still miss the NFL 2K franchise (2k5 was and still is my favorite football game), but Madden 2009 and onwarwd look mighty similar, if not better, than this commercial.

IMHO, this is the most deceptive commercial in video game history. I'm still fuming over it, well over three years after its release. Meanwhile, the Madden games on the 360 and PS3 have been absolutely horrific (again, IMHO). They should look/play MUCH better than they do. The original NFL2K on Dreamcast was a much better game.

I agree since both the gpu's are directx9 and dated now. Maybe if Nvidia would have given the PS3 a more future proof g80 directx10 shader 4.0 gpu then this would be possible. Although Madden 09 is a signifigant step forward in the graphics department and the branch chain animations aren't bad.
