great piece of kit when will SD bring out a budget version of their 4 ch field mixers for compact camcorder field use?

That said if you want top quality Audio then you have to pay the price.

The control surface is super ugly. I'd take '80s style Sony, Fostex, or even a new era plasticky Tascam over this any time.
