i just got a reissue and i can't find a good tone out of it?

I found theese values on the net somewhere and I've more or less stuck to it:

strat: hi input, bright switch off, volume to taste but around 4 to 5 when no ones around, T4,5,M4,B3 , reverb 2,5

thicker strings,pickup not so close to the strings to avoid icepicky-ness. Any settings on TS808 sounds good but generally tone at 9 to 1 o'clock

humbuckers: haven't tried it yet but :low input, bright switch on ,I don't know how it sounds though.

I just played my Super Reverb reissue today and was very happy with the tone (I played it loud, though). I'm using a Les Paul 58 VOS. Here are the settings:

Vibrato channel, input 1, bright switch off

Volume: 5-6 was a niiiiiice sweet spot; just go into another room to listen, lol

Treble: 6.1, Mid: 4.2, Bass: 6.1

Reverb: to taste (today I had none)

vibrato effect off

Also, I own a Zendrive pedal. With that I brought the amp volume to about 3 and got some great smooth overdrive.
