  • hehe ur alot like me...horses and dog agility:)

  • The two really go hand in hand! :)

  • no problem haha.. i bet you get your exercise just running (no offense) haha...

  • None taken! She's a fast dog--I definitely have to hustle to keep up with her!

  • ive always wanted to do agility with my dog but shes australian sheperd\golden retriever and she has bad hips... shes about 9 years old.... i do some low jumps outside.. haha sometimes i even think shes a horse for a moment

  • Yeah, if you're seeing the onset of hip stiffness or dysplasia, you don't want to cause more harm than good. Sorry to hear that!

  • she doesnt get hip stiffness just in general but when we take long walks she gets some hip stiffness but shes a tough dog and doesnt let us think shes hurt... thx

  • HAHAH OMG.. she is so cute!! theres wus a time rite before she jumped tht she shook her head as if saying.. omg this is so fun!! AHH look a jump! HAHA... i love ur dog!!

  • Aw, thank you! She loves doing this stuff!

  • your dog is sooo cute and amazing. I have been working on getting my golden to jump, and she can jump, but not without me jumping yet. lol

  • It just takes time and practice. You'll get it! :)

  • Thankkss :D

  • nice work! it would be a miracle if i could get my dog to do that xD

  • Aww, it just takes practice and patience. :) Shelby lives for this stuff.

  • Gahh that was sooooo cute!! I wish I had a dog :( haha nice win ;)

  • Thanks!

  • ooohhhh what a beautiful video your dog is relly good jumping the obstacles!!! :D

  • Thanks :)

  • That is great!

  • that is SO cool! :D congrats on your first! hahah im sitting here trying to imagine how long itd take me to get my lazy akita to go over the jumps, which would probably be the rest of his life, and then we just wouldnt get to the poles or tunnels LOL

  • Haha, that's not to say that my dog actually does the weave poles at all trials. She has NEVER refused a jump (though she'll occasionally add MORE to the course, lol), but the weave poles we can take or leave. :)

  • Congrats to you and Shelby! :) Sure wish my couch potato were interested in agility! Haha! The only thing she's interested in is giving the horses kisses and trying to steal THEIR food!

  • Thank you! Haha, Shelby is quite passionate about treats, too!

  • wow amazing

  • Thanks :)

  • GO SHELBY GO!!! Gotta love the Shiba Inu baby!!!

  • Thanks :)

  • WOW u r good and i love ur dog. u have great comunication

  • Thank you very much! She is so smart it's scary sometimes!

  • OMG! u made it look sooo effortless! well done!

  • Thanks!

  • holy monoly! ahaha wow!

  • You guys are so good, today i was washing my shiba out front then she slipped out her collar and she ignored my calls luckily i found her but it seems that she won't listen to me off leash and i constantly worry about her getting out.

  • I think we've all had that moment, lol. We share a yard with our neighbors, and one day they left their side of the gate open (which I can't see around the corner of my house). By the time I realized it, Shelby was out and about a quarter of a block away! Fortunately, it just snowed, so I was able to track her, and she didn't get to the main road. My suggestion, if she ignores her name being called, is to yell the name of her favorite treat...

  • (cont'd) Shelby looked when I called her name, but then I yelled "Want a chicken?" and I turned AWAY from her. Shibas HATE not being the center of attention or thinking you have someone better to hang out with! She appeared by my side in about three seconds flat, lol. She taught me when she was a puppy that me running after her earns me a VERY lengthy run, as she thinks it's a "chase the Shiba" game.

  • Oh, thats a great idea to call their favorite treat. i will try that thanx

  • No prob!

  • Very nice run! Congrats on the Q!

  • Thank you! :)

  • Awesome job! Agility is so so much fun! I could never seem to get rear cross overs though. =/

  • Rear crosses are actually our forte; it's the front crosses we have to really tighten up! :) Everyone has their things to work on--for us, it's really a victory when she does the weaves on a first attempt at a trial.

  • wow! really great job :D it seems like her focus has really improved tons!

  • Thank you! She loves playing the game, but it can be very hard for BOTH of us to focus with all of the background stuff going on at trials. She was really sharp at this one!

  • Shelby looked awesome and totally deserved first place. I help out at agility trials sometimes and I rarely see a dog go through clean. Congratulation!

  • Thanks! :)

  • a great job =) my sister is doing agility too with her border collie =)

  • Awesome! Border collies seriously amaze me with their ability to blast through the weaves at the speed of light--not to mention that their herding skills serve them SO well for the sport!

  • That's awesome! How did you train your Shiba to do that? I want to do that with my Sheltie, we've tried, but I just don't know how. I'll stick with jumping horses for now I guess.......lol.

  • We take agility classes to help us learn new skills and to improve upon skills we already have. My instructors have been so instrumental in helping us figure things out!

  • Looks like so much fun!

Last year, at my barn they were doing dog agility classes so I took my dog in there!

We didn't get very far but it was so much fun!

  • Cool! It's really important that it IS fun--especially for the dog!

  • amazing

  • Thanks :)

  • she's so cute :-) Isn't it amazing how they grow up so fast? Ziggy just turned 8- can't believe it! I know nothing about agility training but that looked great.

  • I know!! Shelby turned 6 in March and it blew my mind. This run was a big accomplishment for us--that's the fastest she's done her weaves at a trial. She flies through them in class, but as it is with the horses, bringing them to a show always creates a different atmosphere!

  • woooooooo look at him goooooooooo :) congratulations :D

  • Thank you :)

  • Congrats on the first place.

  • Thanks!

  • Way to go. This was such a special day for you both, Not only because of the emotional value but also going a clean run and then comming first as well i bet you couldnt stop smiling afterwards looks like she made us all proud once again go little shelby.

  • Aw, thanks! :) The only thing that makes me sad sometimes is that she's not a horse--I know if she was she'd be a Grand Prix jumper!

  • Sometimes i think that if she was a horse she would be clue reincarnated they are so similar at times its just scary.

  • I can see that, haha! I think Shelby might have a better tuck over fences though...hmm...

  • congrats in the winning., lovely little girl that you have your self there. where did you get her from?

  • I got her from a breeder in Delaware. Thank you!

  • she's so good!

  • Thank you!

  • Shelby did an amazing job! Did you

train her yourself? She is so awesome!

Just like with Duncan, you and Shelby

    have a great bond! 5*s, favorite! =)

  • Thank you! I have to thank the AWESOME instructors at the Morris K9 Campus in NJ--I worked with her on jumping before I started taking classes there, but I had no idea how to train the other obstacles. They helped us both learn how to do courses.

  • Beautiful shiba inu =] They are sadly mistaken for aggressive dogs, like my red chow chow. great job on the agility x

  • Like any other breed, I totally feel that how the dog is raised greatly influences the dog's future behavior. Thank you so much!

  • soo cute! XD

  • Thanks :)

  • good job! shes gorgeous and a great mover!! =D woo shes good at weave poles!

  • Thank you! :)
