I remember seeing the show when it was Bear and the Big Blue House, and after the show was over, I got to see Stanley outside the theatre! It was Awesome!!! =D
I liked the old one. I really don't like the new name Disney Junior. I like Playhouse Disney. They had many memorable shows. Bear in the Big Blue House, Rolie Polie Olie, PB, and J, Stanley, and Out of the Box.
I remeber I went to first showing to this about 8-9 ish years ago? And they had Rollie Pollie Ollie, Bear in the Big Blue House, PB & J, & Stanley. I miss that showing :(
What's the difference between Disney Junior and Playhouse Disney? It looks like the same shows are still being broadcasted at the same time as before.
@ztslovebird: No. Playhouse Disney--with a PhD in fun--had Bear (joint venture between the Frog [Jim] and the Mouse [Walt]), shows created by Jumo Pictures/Cartoon Pizza (which were PB&J, Rolie Polie Olie, Stanley, JoJo's Circus), and Out of the Box (the only true live-action show on the block). Disney Junior has carry-overs like Little Einsteins, Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jungle Junction, and Chugginton, but the rest are new (not counting bringing back 101 Dalmations).
@TherealRNO . . . . I'm confused. What are the new shows on Disney Junior? And how did flops like Jungle Junction (I'm assuming its the show with the funny-looking creatures with wheels for feet) and Chugginton (the Thomas the Tank Engine rip-off) get on the air in the first place?
@ztslovebird: The main new one right now is Jake and the Neverland Pirates, a cartoon show about three pirate kids using their smarts to outwit Captain Hook and Smee. Others will come later. Disney is carrying over the PhD series' I have mentioned and is also bringing back 101 Dalmations: The Series (you know, the one where the dogs and their owners live next door to Curella and the main dogs seen in the show befriend a chicken who thinks he's a dog named Spot).
@ztslovebird: Those "flops" succeeded due to the fact that one is a Thomas knock-off and the other well...really...I don't know. They're just doing well, ratings-wise. If anything, the only show that is still on that I like is the Mickey show and even that I don't care for much, because it follows the Dora format too much. I miss Mickey when he was actually interesting (thank heavens for Kingdom Hearts, Epic Mickey, the classic shorts, House of Mouse, and a rumored feature-length Mickey film).
@TherealRNO The only reason those two have stayed on the air for this long is because Disney produced them. Without the Disney watermark, those shows would be on some unknown channel for maybe a week, then be put out of their misery. But the new show Disney Junior has (the one with the elephant king and prince and the other jungle animals) looks kind of cute. The 4th Wall is certainly given a breather after being torn down in all the other shows!
@ztslovebird: Well, Babar has been around forever. This is the first time though, that the series--now done in CGI--focuses on Babar's desendants and not on Babar himself. Babar and Celeste are still involved, but the stories revolve around Babar's equally adventurous Badou (called Bauo by his friends), Zelphir's inquisitive daughter Chiku, captivity-bred jauguar Jake, & other future generations of famous characters within that franchise, like Lord Rataxes' nephews, who act as series' villains.
@ztslovebird: To tell the truth, I am not sure, but it could be either, since Nicktoons airs DBZ Kai and we know that show is just the original DBZ episodes abridged (and the original DBZ aired in full on CN [owned by Warner], whilst Nicktoons is something else entirely [owned by Viacom]).
My niece will love this. :3

@ztslovebird The "My Friends Tigger and Pooh" segment will be taken out and replaced by "Jake and the Neverland Pirates".

@TherealRNO: Badou is Babar's grandson.
TherealRNO 10 months ago
@TherealRNO Did Disney buy Babar and all that entails, or are they just distributing the new CGI show?
