well thats why we took it for that time because my brother saw its mother get hit by a car. and said that that baby came from the same nest. he told me about it and then one time when we were outside that baby just came right up to us and wouldn't leave us alone.

Ok everyone needs to chill out! What do you think happens to baby animals that fall out of nests or are injured...Wildlife Rehabilitators take care of them. I am a Wildlife Rehabber and I am raising a few baby squirrels right now. once they reach a certain age they are supposed to have MINIMAL human contact. but it doesnt hurt.

Werent U ever taught NOT to maul baby animals. No matter how "cute" all that physical contact did far more harm then good. I think ur intentions are genuine ...but I believe the entertainment from it all over-shadowed it. Should've immediately released it, and then continued to film. That is far from a newborn and couldve easily fended for itself. Putting it in a box to "warm up" was also stupid and probably just more entertainment...I think you already know this though.

cont..Its easy to tell he is healthy. Bringing the body temp up is only needed for those injured. Often ppl think a baby has been abandoned when in fact the mom is close by. She wont attempt to retrieve her baby if humans close. My husband has worked for DiFW for 17yrs and these type of calls are so common. Sadly ths info isnt as widely available as it shoule be. Also the only time human scent plays a factor is with deer. Its the "scent trail" and not so much the scent on the animal itself

Did that baby squirrel die? I have rehabilitated baby squirrels before, & I am appalled by this video. The squirrel shouldn't have been played with. It needed to be immediately placed in a box w/ a t-shirt & a water bottle filled w/ warm water. If you have no knowledge of how to rehabilitate a squirrel, a rehab ctr. should have been called immediately. Shame on you for hassling that little animal for so long. It needed your help. the squirrels around our house are too fat. we throw bread, crackers and bagels out on the lawn and they just take them away whole. we were feeding a really skinny squirrel a few years ago and we named it pillsbury (sp?), and it ate peanut butter and crackers. If you give a squirrel peanut butter then it will never leave you alone :D
