i personally like metal harbor, the level goes fast and u get 4 lifes each run, possible deaths are rather unlikly and i just enjoy the level more. (time i run it in is around 1min 50sec.

there's an easier way. Go to wild canyon, climb to the first pole to your left, and there's a life right at the top. it easy to repeat

Just start Pumpkin Hill, fly to the spot where the digging tool was and dig there.

Then quit the level and repeat. It may be a little slow but its easy

There is another life after the life that you can't miss if you use Mystic Melody. There is also another right before the 4th life before you fall to that bumper. It's where you bounce up to the ring capsule, onyour right. You can use Light Attack to get it.

Before the 4th life, there is actually another one. As you are using that bumper to get up to the ring capsule, there is a life to your right. If you use the Light Attack, you can get it easily. It's before you go down to the bumper for the 4th life.

This is the method I use, but I normally score 200+ rings on this level because I'm a bit more experienced with sonic and shadow, and I love to skip across both the rails next to each other when I'm grinding down them.

There is also a life on the large pumpkin rock that you grind around going downwards.

There is one way. Go to City Escape Mission 3 (or any other of Sonic's or Shadow's stages mission 3). If you get to the Goal Ring, you will be teleported back to the beginning, and all the coins will be littered around the level. It took me 3 runs to get over 900 rings. Use this method. It only takes 9-10 minutes. Trust me. Your ring amount will stay the same.

oooor....go to the dark story's last boss sonic, hit him 3 times then just light dash across all the rings, sonic will chaos control if you pass him and the stage goes on forever( may not be faster but is probably easier, of course you have to pass the dark story)

if u get an a rank in all of a certain character's mission, u get an alternater costume for them in 2 player. i htink the costumes are from some game called phantasy star online. in 2 player, switch the character to their alternate costume

Use the negative lives method, go on Mission two of Security Hall. Make sure you have no lives left and go near the enemy right ear the start, taunt it back to the very beginning. Then let it kill you. You'll fall back into the back ring, and your lives will go -2. Then you will have -99 lives. Get an extra life and it will go into positive 99 lives. Yay! From 0 to 99 lives instantly =DD

OK i am sorry but i am in a horrible mood right now I was just thisclose TO BEATING CANON'S CORE!!!!!!!!! I was on the level with knuckles, AND I had zero lives left, so then i died and OF COURSE i couldn't just restart it with knuckles. Also, once you are really good at this, you can get both in 20 secs per run, making it half the time.

Another very easy way to earn lives is to go to pyramid cave with sonic. As you run dow the path, right before the last turn on the left wall is an extra life. Then get to the bottom of the path and bounce to th overhead life. Exit and repeat. About 30-45 seconds per run. Lets say 40 secs per run. And you start with 1 extra life. (01)

That would be 49 runs times the 40 secs per run = 1960 secs. (just over thirty minutes) Don't forget the lives you start with.

another way is to play city escape find the lost chao mission without actually finding it but collecting the rings over and over you can get 999 rings good for buying stuff in the black market at chao world too.

You can also play the last boss fight between Sonic and Shadow. Just keep collecting rings. It doesn't matter if you get hit. Let's say you have 1000 rings, and Sonic/Shadow hits you. You get a life for collecting 100 again, so it's very easy to do.

That is a good way to get lots of lives. I often reran though Shadow's first level (Speed Highway?) collecting rings and the life hidden there to gain lives, but you method is faster =)

Actually there's 10 lives... at 1:08 if you go down there is a platform which will give you 30 rings towards a life. At 1:22 if you hit the one robot, on the pumpkin next to it there is a spring that takes you to another pumpkin which has another life + 30 more rings, also if you pause at 1:40 you will see a life on the right hand side. Hope this helps!
