  • Sure the River is potentially dangerous but where exactly is the evidence of all these tragedies?!

  • @dulciedo There have been numerous people drowned on this stretch of river, one (a young boy) only two years ago and a a family of three died while out on the sandbank, the tide came in, cut their return off and they drowned.

Is this enough evidence for ya?

  • @Bothrops01 I finally visited lydney for an incoming high tide these last set of big tides. Got there 2 hours before high water ...shame you do not get a wave but you can really see how people would have been caught out, its a quiet killer and sneeks down left and right channels very fast so you would have no hope if your on the sandbanks. The noose also gets some dangerous currents as well during tides.

  • is it possible to get a wave when the tide first comes in ? no one has posted the tide coming in.

  • @Harbertom When there is the 'Severn Bore' you can catch a wave. It is like a 2nd High Tide, Amazing to see

  • my god this brings back memerys for me spent many a happy hour at the docks as a kid looking at the old bones of the brages and the sand banks ,,, now i am in queensland and its so very difrent but my heart will allways be in the forest thanks for this
