  • "I want be your princess"! XD LOL

  • wth, 3d anime is creepy as fuck, keep it in those 2d stuff

  • dats like the hardest way to a do this!!!

  • i really hope the animating is as easy as pivot(Node Animating) compared to how long it is to create the models

  • this is scaring me cause it took 3 hours for the head,

    Now for the body T_T

  • @XShojikiXKinaganaX

The body is actually a lot quicker / easier than the head tbh ( depending on how detailed it is, anyway )

  • is modeling in blender supposed to take 3 hours long O_O

  • who's the character your modeling?

  • interesting way to model

  • 3DS Max huh ?

  • this is the strangest way to model i ever seen in my entire life lol.

  • i just mute the sound and you know why.....

  • totaly not a good idea to start the model flat then move the vertexes into place :\

  • is it complicated doing that :L

  • In 2D it looks less creepy…

  • have u thought urself how to do this or do u study 3d modeling?

  • name of song u use is ??????????

  • Comment removed

  • This is so cool *o*

  • Actually is modeling anime head in 1 hour because this vid is in fats motion -_-

  • @MmoFusion Read the description.... o_O

  • Shit I need to be good at photoshop too !?!? O.O

  • Amazing m8, started to seriously train for blender since 2 days ago so in time hope I will be as good as you >.< Or maybe even better =P. if anyone got a good method to establish topology plz tell me, I tried 3 different ways but I always seem to get the topology of the mouth in the wrong place and creases have a habit to appear every time xp

  • UAAA QUE CHABERE Y QUE TALENTO

  • LOL what's the song?!

  • MSN! who is gregory?

  • @bubu100lu

He's in Half-Life 2. Crazy Maniac who shoot all zombies XD

  • nothing to say --just cool

  • Awesome tutorial, Xeno! :)

  • Nice work!

  • whats the name of the song !!!

  • @juan321654 I want to be your princess its from anime

  • That was certainly the clumsiest way to model IMO. I suck at modeling and wouldn't have even considered this technique and still won't.

  • not to offend your work process but box modeling would have been the smarter approach.

  • @sampad01

    There is no "smarter approach"

    Box Modelling is one Technique

    and Edging is another Technique

  • @TheStickofWar As I said, didn't try to offend, just said what I felt. I DONT want to argue with anyone about this.

    .

  • what a fucken annoying song

  • Billy Madison: "SLOW DOWN".

  • i like the song^^ for the eyes you need to modelad them an add texture?? i thought there is a way to animate the eyes, without beeing modeladed... like it would be an animated texture or something like that

  • Oh god, and I want to try to do this? What am I thinking? ><

  • 2.18 its spiderman!

  • lol YM chatting

  • Dude! it looks like an alien with a plain texture. Oh, what is this song?

  • name of the song!!!!!

  • @monguiller

    Artist: KOTOKO

    Album: Short Circuit II

    Title: Princess Bride!

  • @jopan1026 many many thanks poly dude :)

  • i will pay someone to make me a 3d razgriz plaque like this! and paint it

  • wooooo you rock :D inspiring

  • cute hekhek

  • could you tell me your rendering setting?? That is so cool rendering^^

  • @bkm1104

    i just use radiosity..

  • @xenoaisam Which program do you use?

  • next time I level up I'm gonna have to put more skill points to my 3d modelling skill

  • Sir you rock

  • Wow ur very strong =0

  • Great work! Whats the song called?

  • Now try adding muscles for lip-syncing. I have just invented a new hell for you, believe me.

  • Metasequoia?

  • the first time i watched this was when i was 9-- an anime noobie--i didn't know who you were trying to make

    now that i'm 11--a grade 2 otaku--i still don't know who she is :)

  • LOve it!!!!!!

  • how did you use the daylight and its setting?

i want to achieve the same look and lighting of your final output. please make a tut of the daylight. :D

  • how did you the daylight? and the settings?

i want to have the same look and effect of the final product that you have created.

  • good job :)

  • is this maya?

  • @koshaku000 The program is Autodesk 3DS Max. If you have the program, i'll just let you know that program can do wonders with modelling, as well as an interface simpler than Maya itself.

  • @koshaku000 pretty sure its 3d studio max.... not sure what version

  • That is awesome. 2 questions after watching this

1 -Did you use a plug-in for unwrapping? if so then which one

2 - How did you make the hair in photoshop? The place that was white did not render but it was showing in the viewport?

I have been googling all over to find a tutorial on how to make hair in 3ds but all I get is the hair and fur modifier or this single tutorial copied 100 times on different sites which makes no sense.

  • @Lynx0123456789

    1 - i use plugin "texporter"

2 - just make two texture.. one is normal hair texture and another one is only black and white... then assign black and white texture to oppacity slot... white is opaque and black is transparent

  • @xenoaisam Won't work with black hair with a dark skin though.

  • Greys are HOT

  • lol the music

  • What song is this?

  • I actually stopped the video and went back to see the IM chat, damn im bored.

  • Wonderful work my Friend, very close to Perfect.

Now we can see a Good animation with Your recent character.

Hope you amaze us again. Have You guys noticed, this anime characters really all look like aliens? Those big headed, big eyes are just conditioning your mind to accept those RARE proportions. My Scene Dolls, & even present in Egyptian + Mexican stellas Murals & HieroGlyphos.

Anyway you are talented artists, My Best Regards

  • 10 minutes meaning 40 minutes sped up

  • Make a tutorial of a manga character... PLEASE!!!

  • I'm so jealous right now....

  • Would the poster or a friendly commenter know how to apply this technique to maya? The split polygon tool doesn't seem to cut internally, maybe I just need to change some settings or use a different tool?

  • Dadadada lalalala llama ding dong wats dat song

  • Great job man ! ^^ .

  • nice making of :)

  • god take away that fucking sound!!!!!!!!

  • what material did you use? no toon shade?

  • this doesnt even look like the picture you were looking at

  • Hold on! the look of that cave? what does he mean?

  • I LOVE ALL YOUR WORK!!! BIG FAN!!!! I HAVE (almost) ALL OF YOUR RAGDOLLS ON GMOD! (too bad my acc got disabled for no reason)

  • freakin amazing, good job man.

  • where did you learn to do this?

  • I'm impressed, especially when it came to the UV mapping part. I'm not good at drawing the textures out like that but I'll learn eventually.

  • can i request you to do a 3d picture for me? :o

    and at the end can you give me the link to the picture, i really want a 3d anime background like you ;o;

  • god, you are my hero! I totally want to do something like that, except that I'm new to the program. Any recommending tutorials?

  • Thank you so much! I've subscribed :D

So this could work for body parts too?

  • Comment removed

  • LOL, i feel like dancing..

  • did you add translucency to the hair or subsurface inorder to get the glowyness. I wish to know more about that render

  • Looks like Im the only one that likes the music

  • @Mariocake111 not really. add one.

  • why is the music so ridiculous

  • Idol!!

  • lol alien

  • wow the hair is awesome OMG T_T

  • Hahahahaha NIce.! Amazing.. WORK HARD DUDE.! Certified Anime Addict.!

  • I think i will stick to 2d character design rather than 3d modeling... you scared me!

  • bien brother me dejaste pekeñoY.Y

  • Awesooooome!! I'm working hard to get there. ;)

  • Can you please explain how you did the texture? that part went by 2 fast

  • @blooddarts1 download the video n play it slow in any player like vlc . good luck

  • 3ds max?

  • the music its terrible that i want to kill myself but good work

  • Impressive..

  • Not to question your method, I know you have much more experience than I do. But why is it that you modeled the head first with the mouth open? doesn’t that mess up the anatomical shape of the face/head?

  • A great video, very nice... I'm new to 3DMax, I find it really awkward to use against Softimage, but I have to learn due to industry demands (moan moan moan huh?)

  • No initial box. No extrusion. You started working in a plane by adding edges following the strokes of a hand made sketch. I like the technique, I will try myself.

  • @NewTypeV100

Box modelling is uncommon for heads. This guy initially started off right, but there is something he did I highly suggest not doing - slicing up the mesh into a bunch of polygons before anything else. That should be done as you go, and trying to use as little polygons as possible.

  • @EvilPoliceman Yes, I've found at that time (about a year ago) is a bit hard this way. Establish topology and then progressively raising the resolution to approximate more to desired shape is better, only subdivide, extrude or cut when you really need it, maybe poly by poly is better for the human face at the beginning. The video author has some kind of developed intuition so he/she could solve this even the "incorrect" way. I need proper technique to get to something.

  • Being that good is cheating.

  • dude what anime song the 1st song are from??

  • oh man modeling seems so confusing Dx im kinda scared to try it now e_e;

    really nice job!

  • I'm a newbye, how do you delete edges without messing with the whole mesh? Because when I try, I get a hole on the plane.

  • @xxmago Did you try to delete the vertex, instead of deleteing the edge?

  • @xxmago After you select the edge click remove button from edit edges tab.

  • OMG LOL THIS SONG. I've heard it somewhere - but where?! Is it KOTOKO?

  • wow

    nice.

you my friend goot amazing anime modelin skillz

btw i saw someone on the internet that done a really good cellshade.

that actually really looked hard to sepperate from a real drawing.

if i can find the link again, do you want me to send it?

it was done with softimage xsi thats what i do remember.

i still have the pictures ;3

i can set them on my server ;3

  • you make it look so easy

i think i have to try

    you're good on 3ds max :)

  • what application were you using to paint the uv's for textures?

  • Excuse me,can i ask you how many years you learn 3ds Max?

  • OMG,can see how pro you're,i'm just a beginner of 3ds Max!xD

  • the face scared me in the beginning o.O but in the end i loved it ;DD

  • You make it look so easy

  • Fucking amazing! great work, I've started modelling using 3d max my self, I hope to be this good one day :)

  • How did you upload the images to 3ds max?

  • Comment removed

  • LOL Nice Job men i like it it Looks very Good

  • AMAZING!! The finished project looks fantastic :D!

  • I think pulling the verticies forward would be better with a side image, personally I prefer strip modelling, great end result though

  • do you not make maping tutorial? and how to insert bone?

    please~ i really2 need it~

  • What program are you using?

  • 大爆笑

  • how hard was this? what program did you use?

  • thanks for doing this though i dont need it any more atleast it will help others

  • Very nice video- and easy to follow if you know about 3D already - the J-Pop music was very annoying thou :P

  • whoa... Damn... Hows the algebra 2 workin for ya? I can tell your good at math xDD jk but you musta worked really hard on that... I sorta want that program lol xD

  • como se llama el progama porfabor , ayudaaa !!!!!!

  • @Elenacool9 3d max

  • i'm really having a hard time in pulling vertices on side view,. any trick on there?

  • work hard!

  • @skyassasin16 YEs, the trick is to not subdivide the mesh too much until you're ok wit the shape. Becaue it'll be very hard to move each vertice.

  • @skyassasin16 click and drag?

  • just... teach me that... texturing part... o____o So cooooooool.

  • So good your video, amazing.

  • Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    This was freaking amazing!

My mouth was wide open during the whole video!!!!

I think I got how to model hairs the way you did....

Gotta redo my entire hair now, but is this way good for animating the hair?

  • thanks!

yeah~ its like animating the hair in my 'messing with naluri' video

  • 9:30, how did you do that? IT'S AMAZING!! please reply.

  • which one? render?

  • yea, how you made it look like a rare figurine. all clayish with the highlights and the details.

  • @mechanoid11 you are right, WTF WAS THAT?

looks like a radiosity or something like that

  • yea, it looks so cool.

  • GREAT JOB!!
