  • why does she remind me of tina fey?

  • so inlove with old school songs like these. i just miss the 80's-90's

  • This is a beautiful freestyle song! Please check out our freestyle revival too :-)

  • She could probably come back now with some similar tunes and hit it big.

  • The look she gives the guy at 1:33 is the look my wife gave me when I proposed to her. LOL

  • @bigdanish78 wait is that good or bad? oh wait nvm...you said "look my WIFE gave me when i proposed" so yeh i guess it was good..lol.

  • i love tjis sonw and thats my name Que sera

  • ill play this bass line all day, everybody knows this and sings "hit the beat now"

  • I wonder if Lisa Lisa got paid royalties for allowing evil scientists to clone Paula Abdul from her?.......Poorly I might add.

  • is that paula abdul

  • she live newark ,NJ. dead broke!!!!. please donate.

  • awww this song reminds me of the one that got away lol he played me this song hinting it i guess lol

  • early choreography.. shudders

  • yeah the 80s was the days of nightlife, i mean you could go out meet women and women weren't prejudiced, now women in these days like pretty boys and shit god i wish i was living in the 80s i'd have all kinds of relationships...

  • @91Charlie06 In the 80's the dude that looked the most like a chick got all the ladies. I think that's more pretty boy than now haha

  • YOU GO LISA!

  • Love It!!! Heard it for the first time today... born in '78 How did I miss this

? Can't get enough of it.

  • those latinos love the rhythm don't they?

  • cute fun tune. Lisa Lisa is fun, sexy and emits a great sense of honesty in her performance. I give everyone a lot of credit for on of the truly memorable music videos of that era.

  • love it, brings back so many memories of when life was so sweet and easy.

  • I wasn't even born in this era and ii still love 80's music.

    #80's kidd at heart.

  • Am I a fool to keep chasing the girl of my dreams, you betcha.. Lost in love and emotions.... a big thanks for posting this song,to remind me of my love life...

  • 0:44 "i'm gonna stick to my guns" as a 80s teen i thought she was referring to her massive tits.

  • @Hot80s Good point! LOL XD

  • she looks like my homeboy johnnys mom

  • Incredible to think this song was released in 1987 and will be 25 years old next year but still sounds just as fresh as ever

  • Love this song. Just another example of how 80s music (and 70s too) ruled. Today's music just can't hold a candle to it.

  • the pants weren't better in the 80's though, check the foot plus long zipper!

  • iLove this song it's awesome!!! Classic :D

  • OMG....they use to play this song all the time in the mall arcade (too many flashbacks).

  • LOve!!!! Thanks!!

  • MOMS USED TO BLAST THIS SONG IN THE CAR

  • @howardg93 my mom still blasts it in the car lol

  • @Letmeb29

    x2

thats all i play for my kid

  • Wish she was till around hey maybe we can trade lady gaga in and get lisa lisa back..

  • I grew up on the block that the video was filmed at ... I actually remember when they was making this video ... Lisa Lisa chose this area because 1) She's from the neighborhood, 2) there was and still a festival in this block ... it's called The Feast of St. Carmel ... it occurs every July

  • This is NOT freestyle music. Freestyle is WORST.

  • :35 for white people problems

  • lisa is real cool and down to earth.

  • thats paula abdul from american idol hahahaha!!

  • New Music really is shitty

  • i always thought she looked like paula abdul.

  • Dammmnn she is sooo sexy

  • Loooooooove this song.....brings back so many good memories. Thanks for posting.

  • where is lisa lisa at now? is she still in the music biz?

  • damn. Is it me or is lisa lisa suddenely so sexy

  • My mom loves this song . (x hahahaha

  • Doesn't anyone know real women have curves? lol

  • Love this song. The song and her voice are very motown in an 80's way and the video is so much fun. New videos aren't fun like this. Also, she is a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice and she resonates a positive personality as well.

  • Idk why she reminds me of Paula Abdul. I guess it's the whole 80s music style and attire. lol

I miss my birth decade. :(

  • Lol its cool to think some grandparents looked like this

  • lisa lisa is sooo beautiful ! was in love with here 20 somethin years ago....and still am today! bout to be 'all cried out' reminiscing !

  • a jam!

  • Lisa Velez is talented. Shame she hasn't done much since the 80s.

  • 80's jersey shore

  • Hey writeowl, what country do you live in? In the U.S., at least, most chicks have curves. Too many!

  • @1compostela LOL. I'm in Australia. Thin is IN here. Not saying we don't have gals with curves, but it's not encouraged.

  • God I miss the 80's. The music back then was so innocent. Unlike today rap music....

  • @mrpennh

I totally agree! I miss the 80's too.

  • Love the 80s. !

  • I love this song!!! I'm 16

  • Great to see a girl with actual curves!

  • @Writeowl yeah I agree. I just discovered Lisa Lisa & The Cult Jam and I recently just saw Sheila E. in concert. They are amazing, it is a shame that today these women are considered fat and always have to be skinny. Being skinny isn't everything shit.

  • @DanielSchmidt94521 Absolutely right, Daniel. For the record I think women like Lisa and Sheila are a lot more sexy than the girls now who look like they're cut out with cookie cutters.

  • @DanielSchmidt94521 Oh and they could sing and had talent, of course ;-)

  • i just found out this song was made before i was born...BUT HEY!!!! I FREAKIN LOVE THIS...i love the 80's :)

  • A lovely song

  • She was at this joint out in Woodside back in the fall and I couldn't go SMH. I'd still wife her.

  • Que Sera, Que Sera!

  • Loved this song and the video is still fab after all t his time :)

  • i love your song

  • wow i was born a year after this video was. there was alot of hit songs in the 80s

  • I miss Lisa Lisa. Bomb.

  • Big HAIR days!!

  • I got in my dad's time machine, went back to 1987 with nearl and slow danced to this song.

  • Cant wait to see this November at Old Skool!!

  • The bell sound effect sounds like it was lifted from 'Pee-Wee's playhouse.' Lisa Velez hit #1 in Billboard, 10-17-87. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Dios te bendiga!

  • @mgdicehouse

    Where is Lisa from?

  • I wonder if I take you home, all cried out, Can you feel the beat, Head to Toe, Lost in emotion and so many more - Now this is A True Diva - yes or no??? well, to me Yes Ms. Lisa Velez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 45 people are lost in bad music!

  • Hit the beat now.

  • I think she looks like a cross between Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson with a touch of Mariah Carey.

  • @fubukifangirl When I Saw her for the first time, i thought: Looks like Paula Abdul! rs

  • @ebmoretti lol.... thats what I've been telling people that she looks like Paula and dances like here.. well in this case Paula dances and looks like Lisa Lisa.... But Lisa was so fine back then.... very sexy body! Now she's in her 50's and chunky.... hehehe...

  • @LALOMAN18 Acually 44 and still looks and sound good!!!

  • Forgot how HOT she was! And a great song too.

  • 43 people doesn't know shit about music!!!

  • Every day was Halloween back then, costumes were so crazy, but it felt good to dress up. Must have made our parents upset...

  • Thumbs up!!! if you think that new music is shitty and old school music is the best.

  • @kkc2015 not to old BRO :S this is far enoughh lol

  • @tonga2516 no this is when music was the best like its actually really awesome unlike the songs of today which is like ok but old school is the best and it always will be in my book.

  • @kkc2015 You can't go to any old ass music video without reading such a comment.

  • @kkc2015 You are 100% correct in your statement. Today's music totally lacks imagination. The performers are all about looks, clothes and dancing...not much substance. Miss the good old days, when music was music.

  • @kkc2015 People thought the same thing in the 80's

  • dancing around the house singing this song <3 it

  • Iwas raised in new york and i speak perfectly good english and spanish.

what do you know about getting into the word? you sound like your on the pc all day!

Stop talking like you know what the fuck you are talking about ASSWIPE!

  • what blows my mind about seeing people from the 80s is how awesome they must have thought they looked in those getups. haha.

  • this song was on my greatest 80s cd i bought. i always imagined her being pretty and i was right! haha. cool song.

  • I miss the jeri curl!

  • Que será Que será?

  • thats the future Vanessa Hudgens haha lol

  • Hit The Beat Now!! Love her and Full Force wish they were still around, still have the memories and the music in us!!

  • though i love this band, i always hated they way they say que sera ,que sera.

it sound like they are saying que seral que seral. i mean is a spanish word say it with the spanish accent.

  • @MEGABOINK65 get over yourself. she is not Spanish and different people from different areas say things differently. Just enjoy the music.

  • she is spanish !! she's lisa velez of Puerto Rican descent and grew up in New York City . If you are gonna use a spanich word, say it right, not with an english accent.

    so get over yourself

  • @MEGABOINK65 Yes, she grew up in New York, she was born in the U.S., so she would have a different accent than a Spanish person. If you got of into the world then you would know that. Idiot!

  • Comment removed

  • @MEGABOINK65 Lisa is not "spanish" as in a Spaniard, but she may have some Spanish roots. She obviously has African ancestry. I have a friend from Puerto Rico and she is pure black...no Spanish(white).

  • @LGLG69 I agree.

  • @LGLG69 puerto rico is spanish white mixed with african ancestry and indian it varies if your last name is spanish that a white name

  • @manutd316 yeah, i just meant that Lisa is not only Spanish. She is clearly mixed.

  • This was the no 1 song on the day I was born

  • How come the festivals in MY town never look like this....where everyone breaks out in synchronized dance??

  • LOVE HER FREESTYLE MOVES

SHE'S IS VERY ATAAHUA VERY BEAUTIFUL

  • Time travel is technically feasible now but only on an atomic level, to scale it to accommodate humans is a huge financial undertaking, not to mention the power requirements enough to power Europe several times over

  • What the hell is wrong with the 43 dislikes?

  • @jackdav34 My thoughts exactly!

  • love this song heard it on the radio and had to play it again when i got home hahaha good shit

  • Lisa Lisa was good but the Cult Jam was very big musicians in their own . She did remind me of a early Paula Abdul. I love most of her Freestyle music.

  • I heard this song on the radio yesterday. As a child I always thought she was saying "Kiss Sara Kiss Sara." I’m 31 now, how old was I when it came out? Do the math.

  • this song brings back such good memories! it saddens my heart that I can never go back to those days... sigh .....

  • I remember getting Paula Abdul mixed up with her when I was little. I listened this cassette tape for hours everyday!

  • When I was little this was the jam

  • When I was little this was the jaam

  • love it

  • Lisa still rocks just saw her in concert at woodward park in Fresno Ca. june 10th 2011. she rocked it

  • To all you Clemson Tigers fans (like myself) and Evansville Otters fans: This was the #1 song in the USA when Nick Ebert came into the world (October 16, 1987). Hopefully, a pro team will sign him in the future.

  • I remember this video being shot around my old block and my girl friend and I driving our mom's crazy to go to it. It was held in the San Genero festival they held on Pleasant Avenue in NYC every summer. I am the little girl in the red top and black pants you can see me in 0:46 to 0:48, and I am 34 now. Wow, I sometimes miss those times lol.

  • @musicchild913. I grew up on Pleasant Avenue at 117th Street between 1974-1981 and had completely forgotten about the San Genero festival! Wow!

  • @musicchild913 I remember trying to sneak into Eazy-E's video for Only if you Want It... I was only a kid seeing grown ass girls shaking that ass.

  • @musicchild913 That is awesome!! I miss those times, too! 80s were great!

  • @musicchild913 that's cool. so did you actually get a chance to meet lisa lisa?

  • @musicchild913 Harlem!

  • She kinda sounds like Ronnie Spector in this song.

  • The music's okay. The one problem I have with this video is the over abundance of hairspray.

I'm sorry...I'm half expecting someone to walk through with a torch and light everyone's hair on fire.

  • Comment removed

  • I saw her at the Central City Mall in San Bernardino in 1986 or '87. My cousin took us to get her autograph, but we weren't able to get it since she was being ushered away by her security and couldn't take anymore autographs.
