  • nice shavings! would like to see some wood carving injuries. where should I look!?

  • Please be careful - you are displaying some very dangerous manouevres with those tools. If you havent already plunged one of those 'gouges' into your hand, you've been very lucky. Buy a good beginners carving book and take a look at some of the other woodcarving videos on here. If you're serious about woodcarving - invest in some decent tools - you dont need to spend a fortune on Pfeil or Ashley iles tools etc but some budget gouges can be quite good. These tools aren't suitable. Kind Regards.

  • At least he is trying to help those who are interested. Just remember that Norm from the New Yankee Workshop had to start somewhere.

So don't let some of these guys get you down and keep on posting. It will be fun to watch you as you get better.

  • I agree with others: If you want to showcase your tools:

1: Learn to carve and turn out something at least good looking and maybe useful

2: Use a decent bit of wood, not something that looks like it has been broken off a packing crate.

    4: Get those tools sharpened.

    3: Be safe.

@1:43 minutes I was cringing at your hand position

  • my apologies..... I assumed you wanted to carve.... but it appears you are trying to hock some inferior "carving" tools that wouldn't hold an edge even if you did sharpen them. I recommend that anyone who watches this video for an example of what the tools can do, look for better tools.

  • I agree with ritter89..... get your tools sharpened, and get a few tips from someone who knows how to use them. You could lose an arm with what you're doing.

  • how do you sharpen your tools? mine are extremely dull.

  • what the hell is this?!?!?

  • where did u get the tools

  • you get them from ebay

  • wow. that's some of the dangerous wood carving i've ever seen.

tools, fresh out the box like that, only have a factory grind, which means they're extremely dull, and is the reason why you're pushing so hard and also why many novice carvers end up cutting themselves and/or giving up the art entirely.

if i'm missing something and this video has another intended purpose, other than showcasing your tools, then i apologize.
