Also about companys not taking on people trained by this company is not correct, its people from college in general, Employers want people with hands on experience and lets face it, someone just leaving college hasnt got any! besides a piece of paper saying they can...

If you really want it, then you may end up having to do a bit of unpaid work just to get a bit of experience, plus an employer will love that on a CV anyway so crack on!

Ive done alot of research into this company over the weekend and theres alot of good and alot of bad(MOSTLY good), the people who are doing well and keen to learn are posting all the positive, and the people who are just lazy and expect to push some wires together and get the paperwork are posting all the negative!

ALTHOUGH i have noticed they seem to be avoiding paying out when they can... Example: accommodation, refunding travel fees, £200 discount towards tools, bunch of tool etc.

I'm not defending my choice to sign with a blended learning course I was mearly pointing out that in my experience it work I was a lorry driver but had previous building experience being a lorry driver I was away from home all week so I could not commit to doing an in house college course as I would not be home to go. So blended learning was my only option as I could study in my lorry at night it work for me but might not work for everyone.

Yes hard sell, commission only sales guys signing people up to finance...its known as "Negative Emotion" selling. Distance learning (hardly ever works - How can you learn a practical trade from a book in your bedroom) especially for gas & plumbing courses. You must be very careful about the quals you get AND what industry you get in to...

sorry! where was I not just that but all my qualifications are recognised city& quilds qualifications. you can look them up on their website. I've done my 2330 2392 2382 and ny 17th edition and I've still got more to do. And after a year and a half I'm working for an electrical contractors. so sorry you didn't want ti sign up but it ain't a scam in my experience

Actually mate your wrong! yes they hard sell and yes the salesman was peat. But I'm doing there electrical course and it was slot cheaper than most other courses and i'm paying the finance off interest free trough their finance company. not just that

Too late for me... this happened to me about 3 years ago with the skills centre. Happened exactly how you described it and he tricked me into signing a 7k electrician course with about 3k interest. Even gave me his number! (didnt work). Anyway long story short, skills centre went bust, still have to pay. keep threatening to take me to court for the money.... I keep telling them to take me to court.... One massive scam.

thanks for the information, i hade a visit yesterday and had a phone call this afternoon to confirm i have been given a place on the plumbin training and that thay will be coming out tomorror afternoon to do a credit check. and have also researched on the net and basicaly the same as yourself found this company to be a big con so thank you for sharing your dealings with this CON!!

they came to see me about this. At the end of the meeting he used some very good sales tricks.

Next day I called to say I was interested, he said he would see if he could get me "accepted" - he called back and gave it the "I am shocked that with such short notice you have been granted a place"! He wanted to meet asap to sign me up.

This made me research.

I now see it was a bad idea - He didn't seem shocked when I called to say I had found negative info about the company during my research

Good video, my friend. I was foolish enough to sign up for this last year. I was under great stress at the time and not thinking straight. I've probably lost over 5k! I'm not really suitable to be a plumber but I fell for the hard sell. Now I feel a prat! Set-ups like this one between Barclays and T4T are disgraceful. They're taking advantage of people under pressure, little better than loan sharks. BEWARE EVERYONE! and don't give in to desperation or panic.

Similar scams in the area of IT and Web Design - scamster companies with nice looking websites offering you the chance to earn £40K plus. Beware the hard sell and never give your bank details.

Great post by the way Nottinghill2010. Your video is very informative. I wish I'd seen it before I had wasted so much time with Train4trade. I'm now planning to sign up for an electricians course at a local college.

Got exactly the same treatment myself. Talked with the salesman from T4TS for nearly two hours before he eventually got round to the price. I was then told I HAD to sign up that night otherwise my place would be lost. I said I had not intention of signing up on the spot so I was offered another 24 hours to consider it. When I then said I thought I was being given the hard sell the guy told me that 'clearly the course wan't for me' and started to leave - this at least saved me throwing him out!

Just received a call from my course advisor asking whether I was happy to proceed with the course. I told him that attending college would work better for me, he then replied "you didn't get accepted on to the course anyway". Smh “so why are you asking me if I am happy to proceed if I you don’t feel that I am suitable for such a course”. Be wary of these people they are only interested in commission.

@glistninganalbeads What you need to be aware of is that the course does not provide enough practical experience for the qualification to even be valid, especially the plumbing courses. In addition there is a quite a long waiting time for the training centres. If you did your research into the company before signing any contract you would have found substantial evidence that pretty much no company will take you on with such a qualification.

Thanks for the tips, just had a salesman (advisor!!) around this evening giving me exactly the same sell but didnt want a deposit, youve just confirmed what i thought. I bet i get that phone call tommorow to say Im accepted..................mayb­e your career path lays in investigative jounalism

All most got nailed, Two year course £130 a mounth, for 42 mounths??? Not 24!!!! Smooth talking twat says he has a bad thoat so watch DVD, any questions i ask he says were on the DVD that i didnt listen. £100 deposit??? Yeah right, tell them that you will get a government grant and watch them squerm. All the best to you and yours.

the moral guys is it will take longer but cost you 10% of the cost against train 4 trade and you get the qualification not equivalent. colleges offer part time spread over two evenings. you can do it if you want.

I had these people into my home for a course and because i advised i wanted to pay in cash when i sold my property as i was moving and the chap became very stroppy saying "i thought this course meant alot to you", this guy was like 60 but acted like a teenager. up until i said no he was very polite and helpful. seems i got out just in time. this was 2 years, it has taken me this time but i have successfully stated my assignment at the end of my second year.

So let me get this correct. This man gets £1000-1500 a week!! to just come to my home and decide on weather I have the aptitude to be a plumber! He's called a Training Co ordinator. It sounds like he's a salesman and he works on commission!
