  • There is always one nutter who dont like this masterpiece

  • shades of aunt June?

  • Great song. Great performance. But what an awful, inappropriate set backdrop. Who gives these TV producers their jobs...?

  • Of all her music, this is my favorite!

  • What a talented family the Carters/Cash were. I so miss this type of music. The auto harp surpasses any techno instrument of today by far. Thanks for posting

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!! There are no words to describe how beautiful this music is!!! Thanks very very much for posting :)

  • always liked the carter music, hope carlene is doing good these days

  • Who the heell could dislike this song an group?

  • no. i also think marty stuart is kind of creepy. i still watch his show because he always great guests and he definitely deserves a lot of respect for his dedication to true country music. but he still seems like a very strange man.

  • Sure is nice to see that the Auto-harp from Maybelle is kept alive & passed on in the Family Tree! Nice Playing, Carlene! Thank You for this post.

  • How wonderful that the Carter tradition survives and indeed flourishes with the loving care of Carlene and Emmylou. Bless them all.

  • dam two of the best looking gals ever together. another of the reasons i could never be religious. a caring god would never alow these two to age or sicken or die

  • She could of left Marty Stewart out.he's wak o

  • @mogges1 Strange comment. Marty has devoted much of his life and a lot of his personal wealth to the preservation of traditional country music and he has been for years one of John Cash and the entire Carter clans closest friends. He is hands down one of the best guitar and mandolin pickers in Nashville having started with Lester Flatt at 13 -- and he and Connie Smith have hearts of gold.

  • @mogges1 ... Is he?.. Why? ...Serious. :-) ... I remember him getting his start with Johnny Cash way back in the late '70s.

  • Magic - absolutely authentic. Take that Kenny Chesney and all the modern country hacks

  • fabulous!

  • Beautiful. Can't beat those harmonies. A great tribute to the Carter family. Emmylou is the queen of harmonies.

  • I love Randy Scruggs. His interpretation of "Both Sides Now" on Cicle be Unbroken album is breathtaking. With a dad like Earl he had seen it all. But I'll bet he will always remember the night he played thechurch lick on Mothers Maybells guitar. On top of that Carlene is about as cool as possible.

  • Who is playing the banjo? Anybody know?

  • @DebraTurner Sure that's Alan O'Bryant -- long time banjo man for the Nashville Bluegrass Band. (<:

  • Beautiful song! Beautiful performance!!!

  • BEST ...

  • Carlene sounds lovely. Now she looks more like her mum and her aunts.

  • I LOVE early Carlene Carter--both her singing ability and her looks! Unfortunately, she's sadly lost both as she's aged (check out any recent video of her)--her early drug use taking its terrible toll.

  • @TheMPOEye Bullshit. She's looking better than ever, put back a few pounds and healthy Sounds great, too.

  • Love it:)

  • wow... I was so sad but... now... this music is really givin me some happiness I did not have few minutes ago

    thanks all those beautiful talents!

  • You can hear her mothers voice in Carlene,

  • Awesome! Great talent pool.

  • When you hear Carlene hit the high notes you can hear her daddy Carl's voice.

  • There you go---that's what talent is! It doesn't get much better than this. Emmy and Carlene are two of the most beautiful women in show business.

  • Carlene is one of my favourites. This video is so good thanks for the post.

  • Nice song Carlene is great, Emmylou is beyond great, to see Randy Scruggs play Mother Maybell's guitar and even imitated her famous "church licks" is something that I am sure Randy remembers to this day. Aside from Gene Autry's D45, Willie Nelson's "Trigger" and Eric Clapton's "Blackie," it is probably the most famous guitar in popular music. However, the director couldn't direct a spit ball fight. There was no shot of Emmylou singing (or Marty Stuart) and no closeup of the guitar.

  • I kept wanting to pan the camera down!!!

  • Look at the company Carlene Carter could gather. She was a Carter!Thats playing and singing.

  • once in a lifetime line up. what can say? how can you rate perfection? thank you so much.

  • Nice song :-)

  • wow >great combo on this stage....thanks

  • also beautiful.

    thanks Laurie...

and again, i hope the new year

is filled with the hope and promise

    of your dreams.

    russ

  • I feel to leave other 5 stars for this, Laurie. Thanks for this beautiful video.

    Happy New Year

  • Laurie . . . another gem. . .Ally
