  • "Does anyone know where the love of God goes

When the waves turn the minutes to hours?"

-The saddest lyric of a very sad song.

  • I've never heard this before. It's a fantastic song. Gordon Lightfoot has a style all his own.

  • I saw Gordon in concert a few years back. It was out standing.

  • Gordon Lightfoot is an underrated poet.

  • nicely done...

  • Deepest song i've ever heard.... I thought it was sad when I first heard it when i was seven

  • No dislikes. Everyone agrees that Gordon Lightfoot is amazing.

Doing a french report in honor of this man. He deserves to be heard in all languages.

  • CORRECTION: typo, (There is alot of truth in that song.)

  • There is alot of truth in that good, I am from the upper great lakes area, those lakes can be mean in November, they are worse than a rough ocean. as a kid, I seen the ship several times sailing. it sank in Nov. 1975. the last time I seen it was in Aug. 1975. it was a mystery as first because there was no debris from the ship. people thought it may have vanished, then in the late 1980s with new technology, they found the ship. it is designated as a grave site so theres a 5 mile radius no diving.

  • love it timeless

  • I blame Wisconson...

  • It is astonishing how this song sends chills through me.

  • This is probably one of the bast songs in the last 40 years

  • music is one of the thing,s that actually mean something.

  • I read that Gordon had nightmares for years after he recorded this, I can understand it

  • :)

  • The guitar in this is absolutely amazing. If you have a nice bose system crank it up when he hits the guitar solos!!!!!!

  • i grew up on the shores of lake ontario, having moved out west to the shores of the pacific ocean 25 years ago i forgot just how vast lakes superior and huron really are until i went back home to visit last week. standing upon the shore of lake huron looking out upon sheer vastness of this huge inland freshwater sea really has a way of making a person feel quite small. superiors waters look black, hurons waters look blue, erie and ontario a deep green and michigan brown.

  • @ta2joe13 Thanks for sharing that, I hope to make it up that way some day.

  • @mrconradhoppe i think that perhaps you have this confused with the avro arrow

  • This song, and the story always gives me chills...

  • immortal, timeless, always makes me cry. no matter what. so sad.

  • Probably the most haunting song I've ever heard.

  • @mrconradhoppe It was a Rouge Wave
