  • It is the City of New York Transportation Department's "Mobile Command Unit" used for emergencies involving the cities buses, and subways.

  • @dslaughter0 I love asians!

  • A smart siren on a TRUCK? Thats unusual. And no if it was FDNY it would of been red and have the yellow and white stripes and have FIRE written on it.

  • On the subject of FDNY's command vehicles, though, you can find a couple on LDV's delivery pages. One is a "Mobile Operations Center" and one is an "Incident Management Team Planning Vehicle", both of which are apparently different from the standard "Mobile Command Center." Anyone have any info?

  • Hey,

Incase no one has said this yet,

    Emergency management, is not FDNY

    It is high risk managers.

E.g Very big Fire or Hostage Situation, And emergency manager comes along to manage the personel. and in this case, they would need technology to solve there situation, thats why this vehicle is dispatched.

  • actually fdny has one that big donated by the main character of "Rescue Me"

and trust me, the OEM bis has a very small conference room but a lovely citywide radio station in the front.

  • Nice federal signal siren! Traffic moves. We use PA 300 sirens in our fire appartatus.

  • FDNY would NEVER spend that much on a vehicle that big lol

  • I've never actually seen one of these command posts actually using their lights.

  • Negative.. It belongs to the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Look closley at the back of the truck
