  • totally defeats the purpose of stealing the loot they should try it on the side

  • I wish they would get some real slow motion video , they only need to run it for a few seconds during the action.

  • the movie they took this from is called "the score"

  • listen to 4:31 he says boob lol

  • They should do it again.

This time sit the safe ,face up.

To see how high the door go's.

  • @altimateworkout thats just asking for trouble,.........but would be damn sweet to see

  • 240p we meet again..

  • What is model and brand of the specific safe used in the testing of this myth?

  • use bathroom chalk to seal it seriously your telling me these guys never thought of that ???

  • 240p we meet again!

  • They also used a fire safe. Had they used a TL15 or TL30 steel or composite safe the door and safe would have fared much better.

  • There would have been much less burning if they used a magnetic drill press instead of a thermic lance.

  • Wot a Shockah.

  • You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off! !!

  • they should have used a smaller bang

  • i forgot what movie this is from

  • @livinitintexas The Score

  • next time try a demo saw

  • acually this would never work because water kept spilling out of it durrrr

  • I don't think that would work if you have money in the safe

  • @sebagisbert1 unless you have Australian money which is plastic.

  • @dseng xD

  • Thx for teaching my parents how to open my safe filled with condoms!!!

  • I knew a professional thief and he would use nothing other than big hammers and really big chisels and spikes made out of good steel. he would disarm the security system after closing time at whatever business where there was a known safe/money and then he would have all night to sit there and pry it open. All kinds of fancy gadgets to break in and get rid of the alarm, but when it came down to the safe he would sit there and beat on it all night, and he always got in.

  • 2:34 like my ex gf

  • Jewelry safes are stronger than these cheap drywall made in china safes. They need to try this with 4000 lb a high density concrete reinforced with at least 1 inch of plate steel.

  • Thats How Chuck Norris opens his front Door, Every day :P

  • the movie is "the score" not cliffhanger

  • bust it with a giant hammer

    SOLVED!!!

  • WRONG- I installed vaults doors for 21 years. The purpose of the water is to protect from burning the contents up. By using a very small amount of explosive. The 'boomer' was right on with his explanation of the physics of the need for using the water to enhance the explosive. They used way too much boom!I I used to just pack string around the crack in the door, they are not flame proof...I peeled a few of them with a axe. :)

  • @jpnagle59 and they used a melinik Gibraltar tl 15 i think they should have used a trtl30x6 ism super diamond

  • What brand of safe was use?

  • what if you use just enough explosives to pop the door does it still completely destroy the stuff inside?

  • @tripptm66 the explosion would still be contained until enough energy is built up to pop the door off. By then with all that contained energy, pretty much anything flammable would be gone, whatever doesn't burn would be ripped up.

  • looks like a good method to steal diamonds

  • Safe Meth? WTF?!

  • Listen to 4:31 he says boob lol

  • @drew999ski dude, seriously how old are u that u think thats funny?

  • @drew999ski giggity

  • hey maybe they didn't have the same type of safe in the movie...............i like this show but they do not cover everything. If you have watched the film the safe in question is extremely special and these guys just have some old piece of shit.

  • the money is all wet XD

  • if they could drill a hole in the top to fill it with water, then why cant they stick their hand in the hole to take the loot?

  • @jed0121 shush

  • surely if you can drill a hole through the top you could just cut the top off and reach in

  • @Thenthereweredogs1 boy you haven't seen a safe before theres other safe theres some the size of 10 inch thick some solid metal and some concrete and sayers of bullet proof material so yea try using a saw if you want to buy a new one

  • @vietanmay911 I'm simply saying that if you can lance a hole through the safe, odds are a plasma cutter will go through it like a knife through butter. You should try learning English if you want to use it. "Boy"

  • @vietanmay911 is English your first language?

  • movie? wasnt that in csi?

  • @heyzoos420 u r

  • @heyzoos420 It was in the score... Awesome movie!

  • It looks like they used too much explosive when they filled with water.

  • There is a reason why you don't see this on TV in South Africa.

  • nuts

  • this is stupid cuz your gonna destroy the contents this way

  • @ridah925 Yeah if its paper money but you could sure use that for gold or diamonds.

  • @JoeDurobot If diamond takes too much heat, it will become carbon thing which has no value. And if gold take too much heat, it will melt and stick inside the safe.

  • @timberw01f A small explosion like that is not going to produce enough heat to do that, especialy under water.

  • @JoeDurobot yeah they used a depth charge!!!!!!

  • @mikeauckland They used TNT. probably around a half pound to a pound of it.

  • i cracked a safe yesterday. THANKS MYTHBUSTERS!

  • what film was it?

  • 2:25: Just to think a orphan died becuse if dehydoration right this second when u read this.

4:30 WTF ITS ALWAYS THE BOOB???

  • Just to think a orphan died becuse if dehydoration right this second when u read this.

  • the guyz who thumbs down r the popo

  • To all you misfits, scalawags and tubers. if you all are looking to buy a safe just ask me and I will help you find the perfect one and the right one/brand. As for I am a safe-technician and locksmith.

  • youtube.com/watch?v=nFlRQOS5WbY go check latest uncrackable password technology see if you can get the password!

  • 4:14

  • @TheLiivahiir sry it's rly 4:12

  • People need to stop recording their television with their crappy video phone.

  • You'd think that a safecracker would realize that detonating explosives in the safe wouldn't exactly be good for the loot....

  • best job ever

  • what kind of safe was that

  • name on the movie??

  • Explosives work for everything. XD

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger would make that safe explode backward with just one good kick to the hinges. Yes, I am tired of Chuck getting all the attention.

  • @critterfreek82 Uh oh, I smell a big beatdown in the future... Chuck vs Arnold! The ultimate badasses! Who will win...?

  • @critterfreek82 chuck is epic

    arnold not

  • Nice. Didn't think it would work like that.

  • If they can make a small hole on the top, why couldn't they just make a bigger hole? lol

  • @Gimpson21 Because they`d need a big ass drill?

  • @Gimpson21

Because they already bought the hose and didn't want to waste their money?

  • When all else fails... blow it the fuck up!

  • Adam just gets a woody everytime something good happens!

  • HEY, they need to get another safe and try it with NO water! This isn't scientific :(

  • @crankflip94 if they didnt put water in it, then it would fly in shrapnel

  • @SinOfYesterd I don't think the guy in the movie would've used water if he had a choice... And they have huge bomb ranges available. I don't care all that much though lol

  • "this is a fun job sometimes"

    SOMETIMES?!

  • Resist the NWO, grow a herb/vegetable garden

  • I'll have to remember this the next time I lock my keys in my car.

  • @FamilyOfMan1975 "carpool" much?

  • whats it with the crappy subtitles?!?!

  • And once again Mythbusters help criminals, lmao.

  • @Laurelindo

Helps criminals? Just lancing through the top destroyed most of it. And then it ended up destroying whatever's left, and they couldn't seal the door anyway without sealing from the inside. You could drill a hole into the top instead of lancing, but you'd still have the sealant problems. It's a terrible method of opening. :P

  • @Laurelindo yeah like criminals watch mythbusters

  • @Aragiss Well, criminals are humans as well.

Just because they have committed crimes it doesn't mean they don't have any interests. =P

  • @Laurelindo ofc theyre human beings with interests. but theyre mostly low-culture types. they watch tv like we all do, but probably not discovery channell hehe.

  • @Aragiss Well, I guess you have a point there. xD

  • @Laurelindo ... help them destroy the loot they're after? If anything they've prevented a few misguided attempts.

  • @Laurelindo YES! The fucking liberals set up MythBusters to help them coddle the criminals and the homeless.

  • I loved that movie with Robert De Niro and Edward Norton

  • this method is only good for stealing dimonds.

  • @hollywoodjokerpicalo

    Not really. Diamonds are flamable.

  • @glxvc They are? <_<

  • Christ I hate Butyl tape... they use that shit to keep windows in cars..

  • i am going to stop this at 0.11 that was in a movie this is not going to happen

  • @ford4rlife so nothing that is in a movie is real? Hmmm, flawed logic. /fail

  • @slothmister yer this was a fail they got the door off but what ever was inside was fucked

  • @ford4rlife indeed it was, but the myth was proven! You can break a safe (like the one used) with water and a depth charge.

  • @slothmister no they want to open the safe like in the movie but they did not do that so now you and ford4rlife can shut the fuck up and get a life

  • @yourgoingtohateme They did not do that? Are you an idiot? Obviously you are! They blew the door clean off the safe, they 100% DID open the safe like they did in that film. Did they get the loot? NO! But the point is that they DID open the safe! Oh and using swear words to get a point across just shows how stupid you are.

  • @slothmister haha its better to be a idiot then a brit

  • @yourgoingtohateme i know this is not at me but if you ever come to england plez tell me so i can beat the fuck out of you

  • @yourgoingtohateme again you fail. Enjoy your sad pathetic life :)

  • @slothmister i will

  • @ford4rlife why comment when you ant seen it what a fucking clown

  • @yourgoingtohateme lol whats the matter you not got any thing better to do then be a dick

  • @ford4rlife why dont you go fuck yourself ford sucks!!!!!!!!!

  • @yourgoingtohateme i feel sorry for you grow up kid

  • which was that film?

  • Hydroplosion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What I would do would be to put some form of covering, like a thick plastic sheet, over the door and cracks, and seal that up. That might allow you to water tight the door without having to open the door first.

  • No thanks.

  • These guys really do have the best damn jobs in the whole wide world... well, except for that time they electrocuted Adam.

  • @Mortuvir you need something really strong beacuse 1 m³ of water has a weight of 1000 kg and the same presure!

  • @Mortuvir

    This is so true :D

  • @Mortuvir haha yea his face was priceless

  • @Mortuvir Lmao, Adam's scepter got burned, he is sad.

  • @Mortuvir yea, and when they made adam run through burning coal, without knowing how to cross it...

  • i agree

i think it was plausable too

  • @sigge951 ...busted, they had to seal the safe from the INSIDE....you dont get that luxury as the safe-cracker lol.

  • maybe it was a different safe <.<

  • maybe that different safe was made of a different substance that is impossible to drill?

and besides no safes like this one are water tight, it would cause all sorts of issues for the things inside it

  • @sigge951 Whether or not it would be water tight, look at the result with what you're trying to get. It ends up pretty much completely destroyed. Even going back to the lance.

  • if you can pure water quick enough than maybe

  • Comment removed

  • "what a shockah." <--LOL. What an accent!

  • What's the reason for the retainer? I don't quite get it...

And AFAIK super-safe safes are made of several layers including hard-to-drill concrete.

  • you lance concrete to be effective

  • the reverse of some safes ar thinner skinnd then the rest so you can cit through

  • He said scepter...ha ha.

  • Gold bullion would survive all of that. (So what if a little bit melts, it's still gold)

  • True... you only ever try to do that to a safe with only solid gold inside... not a safe with cash inside... else no point you burn all the cash inadvertedly or totally trash the notes when you fill the safe with water and blow the damn thing off...

  • whats it called? butile?

  • @swingAE86 probably spelled "butyl," which is a common chemical term. But that's also probably not its full name.

  • they were using butyl tape sealant

  • why didnt they use one of those high pressured water drills that WOULDNT light the loot on fire

  • If they could drill a hole in the top, then why not just cut a huge hole and turn the safe upside down?

  • @EGarrett01

    wow ur right hahaha

  • cause most safes worth getting into way several hundred if not a thousand pounds, also bolted to the ground.

  • Um... some safes are really heavy. Other safes are bolted to something immovable like a concrete foundation.

  • they shoulda sealed it whit epoxy from outside.

i sealed a engine block whit it lol held for 2 years temps ranging from minus 30 celcius to plus 85 and more :)

    i miss that car.

  • "shit, the glass cracked... Quick, find a hose and a spout in this bank!!

  • Should they not have done a control without the water?

  • can anyone tell me the patch on Adam's jackets' left shoulder?

  • if that safe was filled with diamonds it would be a perfect score:)

  • Imagine it had something more flammable than banknotes in it! "I'll lock the explosives inside this huge safe so my kids can't get to them". Them comes the burglar, melts a hole on the top... BOOM!

  • Then it serves the burglar right... lol though I would pity the smartaleck who would have his house blown apart...

  • @ruiferreira89 ROFL!!!!!!

  • You could quite easily seal the safe from outside by using epoxy or resin of some soft and then apply duct tape. That way you don't need to open the door. That would take some time, though...

  • the moive is "The Score" its cool

  • i think is coupal people..

  • I would've used a magnetic drill press instead of a thermal lance.

  • yea you do that martin, dumbass

  • Really. They don't need to care if that glass retainer breaks and puts in more locks, as the door will blast off at the hinges. Perhaps a smaller explosive would have done it too, with less damage to the loot.

  • yeah its because water inst compressable like air

air cussions it alot of the blast energy, its wasted as theres room for the shock wave to go about

water has no room for the shockwave so it makes a bigger explosion

basically beause air is gas its compressable if you set a small charge off in the air it does nothing because theres sort of gaps where the pressure from the blast has room to go

water cant it has no room for the pressure from the explosion and has to go somewhere
