I think you'll find Eric Bogle (The composer) is actually Scottish and he emigrated to Australia in 1969. Yes the song has been done b y Irish bands but TMTCH are definitely NOT Irish.

I just love this song - makes me cry every time. All the other versions are much too fast but TMTCH's version is just perfect. I always try to listen to it on Armistice Day.
